Hi All,
I have just got myself a fold 3.
I have a few questions i need help with please.
1/. With external screen can a hardened screen protector be put on and if so do i need to remove pre installed protector?
2/. I am thinking of buying this case https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0995WPCXJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2SFKRF5TPZMT5&psc=1
Am i correct to say just the basic s pen will fit and not the pro?
3/. Not sure between the standard s pen and the pro.
Want to make sure it will fit in the case.
Thanks everyone
1, if 2, the case will crack the tampered screen protector if overlayed or pushed the protector off the edge.
2, standard fold spen
3, get the standard will do.

So what about Hydro gel protectors?
it depends on the case and dimension of the protector. i suggest don't change. keep the original protector.
Question how do i disable the lock screen pictures in the background.
For the life of me i cant get rid of it.

I don't think you can get rid of the locks creek wallpaper, but you can change it to just a solid black picture.
I use Google Voice, but I'm sure there's a notifications setting in the messages app.

Can we stop Auto rotation on the cover screen & use it just on the inner screen?
How can I stop & turn OFF the Google Assist to stop pop up when I hit the Home button by mistake?

1) not to my knowledge. The toggle is in the notification shade. You may want to check in settings for the Auto Rotate option and see from there.
2) Go into Accessibility. Or, go into settings and search Google Assistant.

Search "Google Assist," go down to "assistant settings" and then all the way down to "general ." The toggle is there, bro. Just have to be patient and read through it.

One feature missing is:
with the S pen, hold the button and draw < or > on any screen to become back or forward no longer exist on Note 4
What I didn't figure out was how to take a screenshot with the pen. I held the button down and tapped on the screen and nothing happened. Just use the old fashioned way.

You can use the Air Command menu and launch the Screen Write feature (I have it set to launch when I press the pen button with the tip close to the screen).
Cool. How about removing the pedometer steps from the home screen? I enabled it when I first got the phone but can't seem to remember the option to disable it.

Hmm. Mine doesn't show on the home screen. Missed that in the earlier post.
The only thing I see that would put it on the home screen is a widget.
Hi, every time I write a screen off memo it will not show on the AOD screen. Instead will go directly into a icon. If I tap twice the icon will appear for a brief time and then go back as icon.
The time it will stay on the screen will not be combined with the date/time.
Anyone has the same? Is it a problem of the settings or csc?
Tks

Yes, same here - direct to icon. I saw review videos where the screen off memo actually remains on the display along with the always-on screen. I tried every combination (i think) of always-on display and lockscreen notification settings, but never found a way to get it to stay.
On those same videos, by the way, the main settings screen looked very much like the one of the Note 5 and not at all like Grace UX, which is what i have. So i wonder if there are different software versions out there with some serious differences.
Maybe csc related ? mine is XSG.

If you go into the always on display settings and then about it should show you an update is available. After this is downloaded it is now working correctly.
Not sure why this did not ship on the phone or they make the update more obvious.

Hi all. New on this phone, I've searched for this but could not find, so maybe someone here could help me. Is there a gesture to quickly turn off screen (had a gesture on my old nexus that was double tapping home button)?
Thanks in advance!
You could try 'Edge sense plus' (check the play store) to use the squeeze function to turn off the screen instead of launching the assistant. Personally I use nova launcher and swipe up to turn off the screen.
I'm sure there are other alternatives as well, but that's my 2 cents
I use the app called edge gestures on the play store. Works very well for me!

Is that the app that costs 1,77? Wich are the possible gestures for screen off?
Do you have the possibility to use the fingerprint sensor to turn screen off?
Thanks!
Yeah it does cost some money but I can't remember exactly how much. There is a native screen lock option for Android 9+ and I don't think there is any fingerprint gesture. It's primarily for the edges of your screen.

You could try turning on accessibility menu in the accessibility settings if you don't mind having a small icon to the right of the pill at the bottom of the screen. When you click it, there are several options given and lock screen is one. It's not a simple gesture swipe or a simple double tap but it may be an option.

Tried that, and it works, it appears a person button, and when you press it, it gives a lot of options, and the lock screen is one of them. I will keep using until a easier solution if found. I can not believe android will not include a gesture option for this by default.
I hate to have to press a button to lock the screen, they end up breaking/wearing so fast.
Thanks all for your responses, and other solutions are welcome. Cheers! :good:

Forgot to mention though that with it, when you open the camera app, you'll get this '5 second burst' label on the screen that some find annoying but I, for one, don't mind it.
Oh and when you're down and feeling blue, that small person icon seems to be ready to give a hug so just look at your phone. Hahaha

Yes now thinking it could be a accesibility info. I really do not like it. Will keep searching for other options... Don't mind to have a extra menu, but would preffer a native app and not a installed one. :good:

It's swiping/tapping from either the left, right, or bottom of the screen.

Thanks, but looking for gestures apps or ways to lock the screen.
Check this widget out. It is invisible and adds double tap to lock functionality to any launcher.

Works without root in Android P or with root in Oreo and lower. In both cases, fingerprint unlocking works afterwards.

It's under the Fingerprint ID section in Biometrics and passwords. Huawei gives you a lot of options with the sensor, you can select which ones you want to turn on.

One solution is to Disable the Google app and re-enable. This will fix your Google Assistant not working issue and news will be disabled untill next root.
