I chose the right firmware for my phone and chose koo as my csc but when i finished flashing nothing changed, im still on skc edition not the unlocked version
Any help?
Hi guys i already have a post in Q/A section but so far no answers so i thought i might get better help/experience here
I downloaded my device specific rom with koo csc ( to be able to choose different carriers in the settings > connections > mobile networks )
Because i cant find this option in my rom even though I've already flashed the rom with koo csc but after i finished, nothing changed ... boot screen still showing skc logo animation and
Service provider software version still shows:
SAOMC_SM-N976N_OKR_SKC_RR_0005
SKC/SKC/KOO/SKC
This is the rom i used
PDAN976NKSU2FUG2CSCN976NOKR2FUG2

I have a i9192 Duo that seems to be having issues connecting to the 3G network in my country (the phone is from a different country)
Essentially, it shows an "H" in the status bar at the top but it doesn't ever switch to H+ when I try to use data meaning that any requests to the internet just time out. Any reasons as to why 3G isn't working on this phone? Do I need to flash a new radio?

There are rumours that samsung locks networks depending on the sales region code, so it would be valuable if you could check following:
1) the firmware you have ( with the key code #*1234#)
2) The customer.xml file in /system/csc directory
Interesting things are:
SalesCode
and the list of Locked Networks in the section Settings->Main-Security
Just take a look if 636 (01)- Ethiopian Telecom is listed
You don't need to root the device to read this file, just use other file manager like ES File Explorer
I've flashed the MTR Stock image and the Kenyan firmware so it might skew my results but here's what I see:
After entering in *#1234# I get this as the CSC: i9192OJVAMF3
In the customer.xml file it looks like the CSC is ACR but I don't see a section for Security or blocked MCCs
you could try this :

the 3g switching process is quiet anoying on this phone

I recently bought a phone from a second hand website a galaxy s9+ after confirming the IMEI that it is authentic I still am unable to update the software or firmware on the phone using the about phone menu.
I get the "registering device-process failed" error in the software update menu.I am currently residing in Namibia Africa but the phone is a SM-G965U American version. Also in the about phone section it shows United Arab Emirates TRA ID, how can I work around this to get the phone updated? it is still on android 8.0 on September 2018 security update.
thanks for the help.

this is the first post the OP ever put up, might need some more guidance with odin
but you are correct IMO
OP go to sammobile.com/firmwares and get the files for the american carrier version your phone is for and flash them via Odin. The Odin process can look intimidating, but its completely doable and will likely fix your updating issue and also get the UAE stuff off the "about phone" section. Odin flashing is probably what got it there in the first place
Hi guys would anyone know the answer to this is a super frustrating one for me.
I had an s9 plus dual SIM wifi calling was working fine on both lines, took the same SIM cards put into A50 and not Wifi calling not working.
I have a Samsung dual sim A50 on Three Network UK, i flashed with BTU software and then XEU Home on both occasions, activated wifi calling and unfortunately.
Would anyone have any idea on what to do next ? thanks

Hi guys i think i got to the bottom of this, the software the phone came with was PAUG so Wifi calling isn't activated as standard even though the settings say it is (I really don't understand this????)
SO i flashed with HOME CSC and it made no difference, then I flashed with just CSC and hey presto Wifi calling is working.
I don't get what the point is in flashing CSC and HOME CSC how it affects whether wifi calling works or not?
either way its' been solved so enjoy the info
Within your settings do you have an option for "network unlock"? Weird that a U1 has this. Nothing occurs when I press it.

I don't have my N975U1 handy but probably has to do with the hidden phone settings. The N975U and U1 are almost carbon copies...
I just checked on my unit (U1) model and I do not have the network unlock.

Yeah I found it odd that the one samsung usa sold me which is truly unlocked and a U1 model having this option.
this is a tad odd indeed. I also got mine directly from the US Samsung site. FYI, I a running latest Android 12 and I recently factory reset my device. So I am not sure if there is any difference if I were running older/original firmware that came with the phone.
If you are not getting a lot of bloatware installed when you put the carrier SIM in it, then it is probably truly unlcoked. Since if you get carrier branded device like TMo and put in TMo sim, it will install quite a few apps that are not just tmo's app. For the unlocked phone, it only install like couple of tmo apps.
