Hey guys, I recently got myself an Xperia 10 III. Everything works fine except the launcher/home screen experiences some jittering/stuttering when I switch from another app. For example if I have Chrome open, then go back to home screen the animation where the home screen icons place themselves to their position is laggy.
Games and stuff work fine. I can't imagine that the CPU is just too weak since everything else works just fine?
Anyone else experience this issue or anyone got an idea why that's the case or how to fix it?
did you fixed the issue? got mine yesterday and it is exactly like that, so frustrating.

Hi,
Like the title says, every time I open an app from the Play Store (in this case, Beat Hazard), my whole S III slows down in a way where animations are slow, and everything lags. The problem goes away after about 2 minutes of sleep mode.
My phone is rooted and has AOKP_d2att_jb_mr1_build-2 flashed on it, but before this, I had LiquidSmooth and was experiencing the same problems. Everything was fine until I flashed ROMs onto it.
Thank you if anyone can help.

Two things you can try: change your governor/scheduler to more performant ones. Lock frequencies (if kernel allows it).

Thank you so much, it worked like a charm, and I was able to change the governor back without the problem rising again. I guess it just needed a little nudge.
So my dad got me the new nexus 7 for Christmas and right away I noticed something funny, When I put my finger on the screen and drag it, it stutters. Going through my screens and app drawer and settings stutter but if I just flick it, its smooth and fine? I though it was something with 4.3 so when I updated it I figured it would be gone but no, is anyone else having this problem? Its not just in the ui its in apps and games no matter what I'm doing it will stutter when ever I drag my finger on the screen.
Download the APP "multi touch test" (or something similar) from the play store and use this asp to see if you have touch problems. Like if the device has problem with the touch recognition.

That's a well documented problem, especially when they first came out. It's gotten better for a lot of people after the updates got pushed out. That said, if you're still having problems and you're running 4.4.2, I personally would exchange it. Now! Before that option goes away! I pre-ordered my first N7 (2013) and within an hour of opening the box realized that I had to go exchange it. You can root it and try and flash different firmware but why? Exchange it.

Has anyone tried Ingress with the M8 yet. I'm curious how the GPS performs with all the metal in this phone.

No issues here. The GPS really shouldn't be any different for ingress than other apps. Though the ingress compass appears permanently broken. Other apps have no problem with the compass but ingress can't get it right no matter what I do.

I have no issues at all, not even with the compass. I feel like its not using the right drawables, buttons and other UI elements seem oversized but GPS, etc. work great.
Edit: The LTE coverage around here is great and I don't have to deal with the drop-back to 3G (which basically kills ingress) like I had to with the One S. That, plus the slightly larger battery makes this a much better Ingress phone than my old one.
Turn the back of the phone to the sky!

I got the compass to work with the m8 in Ingress! All you have to do is point the back of the phone directly up. After trying that orientation I tried some others and as it turns out, landscape works too. Keep in mind for all of these *working* orientations, the top of the phone is your direction vector.
I doubt anyone will play by walking around with their m8 turned screen down (and walking backwards), but the landscape orientations might help
are you all having any issues with Ingress after 1.54?
I can't see myself anymore. The arrow and circle are both gone.

That happens randomly on every device once in a while. My M8 works awesome for Ingress. Great GPS & LTE & my compass work perfectly in any orientation. With Flar2's ElementalX & a couple of tweaks, I get 5+ of Ingress screen on time.
BTW, that issue I've never had on the M8, but N7 & N5. A wipe of cache & dalvik with a reboot usually fixes it.

Make sure you do a full power down of the phone (Turn off Fast boot in the Power menu) and bring it back up. I only see this issue when I switch SIM cards and doing a full power off fixes it for me.
app restart while opening media files and passcodes
Hey guys,
I'm having issues when trying to open media files or submitting passcodes.
The app restarts to scanner. Tried several things: set chrome to default browser, made sure YouTube is working, but nothing seems to do the trick.
Have a rooted M8, almost stock Rom..
Anyone ideas what problem might be ?

Mine is stock non-rooted. No issues here.
Hi guys,
I have a pretty disturbing problem. When I use swype gestures to type a word, whether with Xperia keyboard or with (my preferred) Google keyboard, sometimes the gesture is interrupted although I do nothing to provocate it. I can not reproduce this bug - it has nothing to do with the speed of swyping. I already turned off the option for having a space when hovering over the space bar. It happens every three minutes or so, but I do not know why.
Does anyone know this problem? Any solution?
I am on 4.4.4, 14.4.A.0.108, Kernel: 3.4.0-perf-g0109737
I uninstalled Xperia Home Launcher, using Google Now launcher only.
Thanks a lot!
same here, IMO is an hardware problem
I flashed a complete new ROM with a new kernel, and the problem persists. That is incredibly annoying.
Any idea how we might get rid of this?
same here. it makes most games unplayable
Using a matt screen protector was the solution for me. Had no interruption since.

remove the screen protector that is factory installed and install another one? Which one did you installed? (Amazon link that may be you can share with us?)
Thanks.
Nope, I did not remove the factory installed screen protector - just used the screen protector like you would with any other phone.
I ordered this one: http://www.amazon.de/mumbi-Displays...d=1407017702&sr=8-5&keywords=z1+compact+folie
Unfortunately they are out, but I guess any other matte screen protector will do it also.
I had no issue since putting it on.
Hello,
I'm having an issue with my Snapdragon N10+ when I press the recents button, and swipe through to another app, when I select it, it has about a 3 second delay before the app will switch. After this happens once, it won't happen for a while.

Does anyone else experience this? Does anyone know why this might be happening?
Same is happening to me, after the update to android 10, I dont know why, but sometimes it does and some others doesnt.
Same here! In my case, there are sometimes when It won't even open the app or when it opens, it restart the app (doesn't keep it where I left it) It never happened in android 9. I am using NOVA launcher, I send them an Email and they basically says, it is relate to android 10 navigation bar issues and there is nothing they can do, that we can only wait for Google to release an update, I tested myself and if you are using The default launcher it doesn't happens.
Glad to know this isn't isolated to myself. This is about the only thing that drives me crazy on the note. Everything else is very fast.
If anyone else knows why this is happening, speak up please!!
any fix?

As @noah1988 said, is a problem with the launcher compatibility. You need to use the default launcher or Google launcher. I tested myself too and that's the problem. I have Nova Prime and only happens with it.
