Xtrons Newbie Help - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hi,
just bought an Alfa with a 2017 Xtrons PX3 1024 x 600 unit.
Build PX3- userdebug 7.1.2
MCU MTCE GS V2 72 1
Been looking thru'the threads and have got a bit lost
What is the best way to improve this unit ?
Firmware update if so what and where from ?
Update Android ( to what version ? )
or go with hal9k vs malaysk ?
so much info for a noob
any help greatly appreciated

I tend to go with Hal9k's ROM, just installed Mod v5 on my Xtrons TQ709IPL a moment ago actually. Malaysk is also a good choice. You can find other regular ROMs here. However, it seems like PX3 is only supported up until Hal9k Mod v2 (also based on 7.1.2). It has fixes over normal HCT 7.1.2 roms but since it uses Magisk 18.1, it will probably give you problems since most Magisk Modules don't support it anymore and you can't update it due to Rockchip limitations. So maybe go for Malaysk's ROM for PX3 7.1.2 since it uses SuperSU and Xposed instead. Those two are the only ROMs that would give you a better experience on the PX3 since there's no newer Android Versions than 7.1.2 for it and all the other ROMs are mostly the same as the one you're on already

Memory needed for lineage?

Can I find a list somewhere that tells how much internal and RAM memory each version of Lineage OS needs?
And, I guess older versions often need less memory than newer versions?
I am thinking about to install lineage OS 14 on a Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.
I have found out that there is a Lineage OS 14 version for this phone.
But, can I find 13 or 12? If so, do the need less memory? Would it be better to install a older version?
And, how stable is lineage OS 14 for this phone?
And will Samsung Galaxy S4 mini works as a USB host with Lineage OS 14 installed?
For s4 mini specific information please go to device sub forum.
Here some general considerations: People often say old devices are too weak for modern android versions. I think this is a legend promoted by device markers for not providing updates. Early users of new versions often confirm that legend. But they compare stable old versions with unstable new versions. Nougat is OK now.
Regarding storages: main difference between nougat ROMs is preinstalled apps. They get even bigger by installing gapps. MicroG is a resource friendly (and privacy oriented) replacement for some gapps features.

Official LOS14 running fine on my S4 Mini & very stable (though dialer has crashed a couple of times when answering a call but I am the only person who seems to have this… maybe due to to fact I used the migration tool for moving from unofficial LOS14 to official LOS14 to move from CM13 to LOS14, so I can't complain) Install TWRP fromS4 mini neozone thread & update modem also if available for your S4 Mini version.
Ok, thanks.
But it would also be nice to know how much memory lineage OS need. It would be better to find a smaller phone than the samsung galaxy s4 mini, but how do I know if I can install lineage on it?
On gsmarena.com I can find alot of information about all phones, so I can see how much internal and ram memory all phones have.
Yes. It is not easy to find a small phone with good lineage support. It's not like Linux for PCs, where ram and disk space are the limiting factors. For custom android you need someone to build a ROM or do it yourself. S3 mini or moto e are OK.

MTCE px5 XRC Unit searching for stock ROM Android 8.0.0 (OREO)

Hi Guys,
i am a new owner of a MTCE Android Head-Unit and interested in upgrading my rom to a custom rom. Especially in hal9k, but I'm open to that.
The problem I have is, I am a little scared, that I can never go back to the stock rom, if anything is even worse than now. And I just buyed it, and could easily return it till 2 weeks from now. If I flash a custom ROM and cant go back, I'm sure, I can't return it easily.
Therefore I am searching for the STOCK ROM for my unit.
So far, I didn't found it. Maybe I was just searching at the wrong section. Or it is burried deep down in a long thread. So if someone could help me finding it, it would be very nice.
Build-number
px5-userdebug 8.0.0 OPR5.170623.007 eng.hct.20180126.155501 test-keys
MCU:
MTCE_XRC_V2.94_1
Thank you in advance.
I'm in the exactly same situation.
Bad luck for us. I didn't find any XRC stock rom, and my seller is just ignoring my messages.
If you finally find something please report. I will do the same.

There are a list of stock roms that supposed to be totally compatible among every PX5 model.

Tesla Style Radios- Android Nougat

I recently bought and installed a tesla radio style on my dodge ram. It's running Nougat 7.1.1 and they are pretty popular in Ebay.
Any rooting methods around? I'm also sharing the latest MCU upgrade file that will work in any Android 7.1 unit for Ram 2013-2018 and Toyota Tundra.

How to update Dasaita px6 with android 9

I leave a video for those users who do not know how to update their Dasaita px6 with android 9 already factory.
This applies to the official Rom as well as the Hal9k Rom, I don't know if the Malaxy is also updated in the same way, however, I leave it to you, I am sure that it will also be good for you.
I hope it serves you and good luck in the updates or changes of Rom.

Dasaita - Latest MCU and Updates for Rockchip PX5 Octa-Core 2G RAM 32GB and the updates below.
I did the following updates for max6 and the car play dongle
for the max 6 update noticed nothing different all looks exactly the same and nothing added.
with the dongle it added a new app but when i try to use the android auto the screen just goes black like nothing is hapaning.

9.0 update
S920 Version : PX30 HCT4_px30_9.0_ota(20191101)
V940 Version : PX5 HA_px5_9.0_ota(20200426)
MAX6 Version : PX6 HA2_rk3399_9.0_ota(20200423)
Carplay Dongle Autoplay APK :
Any help would be appreciated, im not a computer genus but can get around lol
It's possible the AutoPlayBox.apk posted in that thread is busted. You can try the latest one from Carlinkit here: http://carlinkit.com/filedownload/32844
If that doesn't work, I would go back to using an older version of the MAX6 software. Even on the MAX6 with built in android auto (ZLink), the android auto doesn't work correctly with the 20200423 update. You can find a lot of the past versions here: https://yadi.sk/d/umCvHqCDzHccr/RockChip PX6 Android 9/HA
