Hi guys,
I've been a long time reader on the xda forums but I couldn't find an answer to this problem I have. I apologise if it has been answered before.
I have a Telstra branded Galaxy s4 mini (I9195T) with TEL as the CSC which I'd like to 'unbrand' so that I can remove the carrier bloatware without rooting.
From what I understand, if I can change the CSC to XSA then the carrier bloatware will be removed while carrier reception should be unaffected.
From what I've read here, (unable to link) it seems that all I need to do is find a XSA CSC and use odin to flash it. Would this work for the GS4 mini? If so could someone provide me a link to where I could find it?
Alternatively, I understand that if I root my device and then flash the XSA Firmware from sammobile.com I could achieve the same result, however I'd rather not root my device because I'm still not too confident about it.
Thanks for any help guys!
Hi guys,
First post, so please let me off if I haven't followed protocol properly. I have been looking at all the other threads and posts and I have come to the conclusion that this is possible, but I need some guidance:
Bought the watch second hand. Samsung Pay isn't available. Samsung Tech help believe the watch isn't from the UK. I also believe this to be true, as when it is reset, the first language to appear is German, before it syncs with the phone and changes to English.
So I would like to change the region from Germany to England to get Samsung Pay enabled.
I have downloaded NetOdin3
I am capable of connecting to the watch in boot mode through wireless.
I have downloaded the combination firmware and stock firmware from https://forum.xda-developers.com/sm.../samsung-galaxy-watch-mactive-2-gwa2-t3968437 where adfree posted the links.
This is where I am stuck. I am unsure if these are the right files for the UK, because that thread was to change it from Germany to "ser"
From what I've read I need to change some text in the combination firmware, but how do I do this, in NetOdin3? or some other program.
Secondly what do I need to change it from and to? I understand its to get the region from Germany to UK, but what is the region code for the UK?
I appreciate I am a total beginner and have probably just asked some real basic questions, however after reading the thread about the guy who flashed his 820 with 830 firmware and bricked it, I'm a little more worried about getting something wrong.
Cheers in advance
You have to change from DBT to BTU..BTU is UK CSC.
Best regards

OK, thanks.
So do I need to edit the files that @adfree linked in SDP?
or are those files ready to go and do I need to edit some files off the watch somehow?
Cheers

Oh, quick question, after doing all this, will it be ok to install updates from samsung as they come, just as normal?

Hi,
I got SGWA1 SM-R500 already with the following SW versions:
Tizen 4.0.0.7
One UI 1.5
SW: R500XXU1DSL1 / SM-R500NZDAXEZ
Knox: 2.4.0
SE for Tizen: 2.0.0
TIMA: 3.0.0
I searched a lot in this forum for the last 3 days but wasn't able to find all answers I'm searching for. So I would really appreciate if someone can give me a complete set of answers:
I want to use Samsung Pay, which is not available in my region - the Czech Republic. I understood that I need to change the region and probably it will be more complicated because of newest firmware version.
So:
What is the best region for the most up-to-date FW version with possibly all functionality. XAR-USA?
How do I do it? How do I change my region? Downgrade to ASAD version or trying to fiddle with "combination FW"?
Is there a way how to change the region but still receive future OTA or once I flash the firmware with Odin, there is no way back to OTA?
PLEASE, if possible try to describe all steps as detailed as possible.
Thanks a lot, this forum and people here are truly giving our devices superpowers!
I am interested too, how to change region on 4.0.0.7?
I have a little problem with my active 1 after the battery change there was an automatic update in which in the middle of the process the battery ran out and I entered the booting mode and did the recovery then my watch is out of firmware can someone help me please
Hi all,
I purchased an A52s 5G (SM-A528B/DS, snapdragon version) last week. I never had a Samsung before so I’m learning now about CSC and such.
I noticed that I don’t have the call recording function even though my country should support it (ILO). As it turns out the device has XSG CSC (I guess it’s a non-official parallel import).
I gathered information around the forums and I’m trying to understand if I can change the CSC by factory reseting and doing the device setup while my ILO SIM card is installed.
Apologies if my questions are stupid and the answer is obvious, but I couldn’t piece it together.
I’m trying to avoid tripping Knox to retain my warranty.
I read somewhere that ILO and XSG are part of the same multi-CSC group (OJM) and that it should work?
I read somewhere else that it no longer works on One UI 3.1/Android 11 versions?
I read somewhere else again that samkey may be a viable solution?
So should I try just by factory resetting the phone? Or try samkey? Or?
Is there any way to change CSC on the fly and avoid having to factory reset the device?
Thanks so much in advance,
Tal
I used to require a SIM to change the CSC but was able to do without it this time.
Doesn't trip Knox. There's a list of countries that details which have call recording built in.

To anyone who might encounter this in the future, My phone was bought trough GoMobile a parallel importer in Israel who didn't have call recordings available although the official one had.
I used SAMKEY in order to change the CSC into "ILO" the Israeli CSC and it worked getting me back the recordings and even had gotten OTA's after it.
I bought an A52s 5G on Amazon UK, and the model that arrived was a Romanian one. I find two things very odd: there is nothing outside the box to indicate that the device is not a UK one (product code would suffice), and when opening the box (which was untampered, as expected) it had a UK plug charger, adding to the fact that the device was destined for the UK market. The back of the device shows a sign for compliance with UK CA standards, and booting it first time, it greeted me in English. However, soon after I figured out the shortcomings and I found that CSC is set to ROM. Factory resetting the phone with a UK sim didn't make much difference however this time the phone greeted me in Romanian. While I've resolved the issue with.. the usual method, I find it dodgy and either the seller went to great lengths to hide the originating country or Samsung is creating these devices targetting Romania but actually making them look British, for.. reasons? Both possibilities are weird.

Did you use it on Galaxy A52s 5G? Which firmware date version did you use to change the CSC?
I wanna go back to my original CSC.

did you succeed? do you have call recording?
For some reason I've never been able to buy a Samsung that used a single sku CSC.
Even with ICCID locked devices they always shipped with the multi-csc/multi-csc2, so I've always been able to use a SIM Card to change out carriers unless the EFS/CSC partitions blocked it partially.
And even in those couple cases, I've always been able to cross-flash carrier firmware for that device to switch networks when need be.
This method even allowed me to use my AT&T locked Galaxy Note5 with T-Mobile Firmware. The only bug was the AT&T Modem's lack of hardware support for all of the TMO network bands.
Other than that. I even bested the Geek Squad at Best Buy...
This method worked on my A32x 5G.
Hello is there any free way to debrand Samsung A52s on Android 12 One UI 4.0? I also dont want to trigger the KNOX flag. My current CSC is PRT (Poland (Play)) and I want to make it XEO (Poland). I already tried some methods with phone call codes and none of them work. Is there any way to do this?
If by debranding you mean removing bloatware and changing your bootanimation etc, just root your phone and do those things. You'll easily be able to find tutorials on how to do all that for your device.
Now, if by debranding you mean that you want a stock android feel, then sorry but your device doesn't have any custom Android development, so you can't install a stock/custom ROM.

By debranding I mean get full stock Samsung firmware which CSC code is XEO, and my current CSC code (PRT) and both are in OXM - multi-CSC so I need to change the CSC code, but tools that can do that are paid, like SamKey so is there any free way
I don't have much experience with oneui Samsung devices, so I've got no idea, sorry.

There is nothing about how to do it just link to ADB
Then there's probably no free way to do what you're trying to do. Also in that post the person claims to have the same csc code as you (prt), and samkey did not work for him.
@Raflen100 Hello! Have the same problem as you: purchased a carier SM-A528 whitout realising the consequences and am no bugged by the super slow updates. I think i am on the same OXM firmware as you. Want from DTM to DBT. My attempt to simply flash DBT and then use dialer codes to switch the CSC failed all.
SAMkey is no option for me, as i don't have any idea about the background and don't want to ;-).
Also: don't want to trigger KNOX.
Since i use a different carrier, i just want a stock SAMSUNG and don't have to wait for weeks for my updates.
If you found a way in the meantime, that would be good news.

Actually, there is a way that was created in the meantime. Around may 2022, developers of samfw.com created the SamFw Tool. It can change the csc of phone through ADB without root, so it does not trip KNOX or wipe data, which is awesome. It worked for me really well. Just make sure to use the non-root CSC change.

Hello @Raflen100, thank you very much. That looks actually very interesting. I currently seem to be not able to find a version without malware, but i'll keep it on my watch list. Can you accidentally tell from experience, that the [provider] CSC change work without need for rooting? My impression so far is that the provider CSC can not be overwritten by flashing, even after having removed the filesystem, so may be stored somewhere else? Or is the SAMSUNG server telling it to the phone, based on it's IMEI?

You can download it from the link I gave you, it's the official post so no malware.
Yes, it does not have any need for rooting your phone.
Answer to your question is very simple, samsung has multi-CSC roms, so flashing one or another won't change anything on the newer phones. There still are single CSC roms, but there are really few of them. And yes, I think it's based on IMEI, because you can't change the entry for the factory CSC, it will always remain there, but you can change the current CSC of the software just by using this tool.
