Hello.
What could be the reason for the low speed of WiFi internet on the SPH-L710?
The maximum speed through WiFi is from 1 megabits to 8 megabits. The speed is very unstable.
Re-flashing the phone did not solve the problem.
Another phone of the same type (SPH-L710) downloads files at the same time at a speed of 40 megabits.
Both of the same phones have the same firmware.
We don't have CDMA operators, so the phone is used in tablet mode, and the Internet is only via WiFi.
Please help me to solve the problem.
Could there be a problem with the changed parameters of the radio module? Is it possible to reset the parameters of the radio module to factory settings?

You might want to look at the Advanced WiFi settings in the Settings app. There might be something in there not giving full priority to wifi radio. On your Samsung, go to Settings>WiFi>click three dots>Advanced.
There are no such settings there that could affect the speed of WiFi in such a way.
Two identical devices with the same firmware. All WiFi settings are the same in both devices, but one has no speed issues and the other has. Two devices were in use by other people.
Are there any engineering settings that could affect WiFi speed and which won't reset after a Hard Reset?
Or is it a defective device?
Does anyone have the L710VPUCND8 or L710SPRDNJ2 4-file firmware?

I am not sure what the problem could be, or where there may be a setting that I'm overlooking, but my laptop pulls 19 mbs and I can only get my tilt 2 to grab about .8 at the most over my wifi network, even if I'm sitting right next to my wifi router. What could the problem be? I've tried both browsers, and right after a soft reset. I've also got the wifi slider all the way to performance (if that actually makes any difference).
Thanks in advance!
Is it possible that I may need to change a setting within my wireless router? Is there anything to tweak in the wifi settings that could make a difference?
Until 4.3 my GN had no problems automatically switching between wifi and mobile data connection (and back).
Since upgrading to 4.3 it's different: If I leave the range of a known wifi network for a certain amount of time (maybe 1/2 h) it wont reconnect to it after getting back into range. Strange thing is: If I go into the wifi settings it does reconnect instantly, without me touching anything (just entering the menu).
Anyone with the same problem? It's kind of annoying, because it's continuing to use the slower mobile data connection even when a known wireless lan is available.

I have the same config as urs and was faced with the same problem. This is how for now I seem to have got rid of the problem.
I replaced two files using root explorer. " fw_bcmdhd.bin" and fw_bcmdhd_apsta.bin" in location /system/vendor/firmware with the same files extracted from "yakju-jzo54k" and then rebooted the phone. Now the wifi switches automatically between wifi and mobile data.
Earlier going through the posts I had modified the " wpa_supplicant_overlay.conf" by the changing the value of "disable_scan_offload=1 to 0". But that did not result in any change and hence reverted back the value to 0.
I have noticed slight drop in signal strength but no drops.
Attaching the two files if someone would like to give it a try (they are from build 4.1.2).
I did a search and didn't find anything. I've been updating my ZE551ML and keeping it completely stock. I am on the latest update (WW_2.20.40.97_20150917) and did a Factory Reset for a clean start. I realized after setting up my Wi-Fi again that speeds are extremely slow; <20 Mbps. This is on both the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, and even if I put it in the Performance Battery mode.
Is anyone else seeing similar and if so, did it start with this update or something earlier?
Is it because of the location? For me, Wi-Fi working normally (at least didn't affect my daily use) except for in my room which is not very far from the router. I get 3 to 4 bars wifi, but it will stop working for sometime and speed is very slow I can't even watch a video without being interrupted. If I walk out of my room, speed is back normal. It's like my room is protected against wifi

It is definitely something up with my ZF2. I have plenty of other devices connected to the same Wi-Fi network that get appropriate speeds. I'm pretty sure it also got great Wi-Fi speeds when I first got it, but this is the first time I re-checked the speeds after all of the various software updates since release, plus a Factory Reset.
FYI, after some additional testing as well as downgrading the firmware, this seems to be some sort of weird interaction between my router/access point and the ZF2.
I'm currently using the T-Mobile CellSpot (basically a ASUS RT-AC68 with T-Mobile custom firmware) in Access Point mode, and what I've been able to determine is that the ZF2 seems to be speed-limited when connected to the "normal" SSIDs (I have separate ones for 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz). I have configured guest SSIDs (which have Internet access but not local LAN access) and when connected to those the speeds are as expected.
Really doesn't make much sense to me since it is the same wireless radio on the router. But at least I can reproduce it definitely at this point.
Some time lag )

My ZE551 ML is also facing some issues after the final update WW_2.20.40.97_20150917. Cellular data is not working. All the buttons are working and on but arrows are not displayed and no data transfer and status says Cellular network status-Disconnected.
poor clarity in voice calls to the receiver and slow system respond with even phone book app.
Expecting a kind support ....
Hi,
first of all i am on MIUI 8 (8.1.5 Global Stable) and my Wifi seems to be really slow. Sometimes i got only 1 MBps with a speedtest although i'm on a 75MBit internet connection behind the wifi router. Most of the time i reach about 8MBit and sometimes 35MBit.
The problem occured on 8.1.3 the first time and i flashed 8.1.5 via TWRP and started from scratch (wiped) but it remains the same. Maybe it's a hardware defect.
Anyway - Could you do a speedtest and tell me which connection you have and which max bandwidth you can achieve with the Mi Max?
Also i considered flashing just a new radio, because TWRP update doesn't flash radio.
So could you tell me what version is the current baseband (radio)? Just check in Phone Information. I would really appreciate to know if there is a newer radio and how to flash it safely (phone is officially unlocked).
Thank you

To begin, I advise you to test your wi-fi on several different devices. If only Mi Max will have a bad rate, then it is necessary to look for the problem and if all devices have the same speed of the Internet, the problem is in the router.
5ghz or 2.4ghz is your router using?
I also has this issue. and i found out that it happens only with specific routers (like i have in my home).
I think that i found a workaround for my home - i use Xiaomi mi adapter as a repeater and connect to it and it works much faster..
Other phones on the same network don't have the problem.

Do you mean the Mi Router for 30 USD?
What is the current radio and can i flash just the radio?

Nope,
I meant Xiaomi WIFI Repeater Amplifier: 7-8$
http://xiaomi-mi.com/mi-wifi/xiaomi-mi-wifi-amplifier/
yes correct i am using that mi wifi extender it works great but need to configure it under mi home app
My version is 8.2.5.0 and my WiFi is slow!! It takes time to play even 144p videos in youtube .
Why it is slow ?? And what is the solution ??
I have the same problem. But I have slow DL rates at any wifi router, and also LTE. Changed many ROMs and the problem persist.
i think im having same problem.. im getting 2.8MB/s on a 100Mb network.
Speed in 4g data mode is working fine.. the problem is on wifi only.
The Wi-Fi does seem slower than other phones. I'm on MIUI 10 8.8.9 eu ROM and the maximum I can get connected to an Asus AC68 router is ~150Mb, whereas my Galaxy Note 4 does ~250Mb over the same 5Ghz 400Mb connection.

I have this same problem did you ever find a solution? Did you get a new router, cause that is were am at right now.
Yes, fixed when I did official ROM update via OTA to MIUI10 and now MIUI11. With the same router I got 300Mbps.
I have recently upgraded the router to the Asus AC86U but only for better 5Ghz range for all my devices. The slow issue was definitely the phoned software.
Hi, I have the nexus 5x since Oct 2016.
With wifi, BT or poor coverage, y consumption is high. Minimum of 1,5%/hour. With mobile data 0,2%/hour. Perhaps with poor coverage is normal, but I don't understand why it happens with Wifi (At home (2.4Ghz and 5 Ghz) and at work (5Ghz)). I have tested multiples cases.
I have had 7.0 (stock), 7.1(stock), 7.1.2 (Dev), without root and with root + (Franco kernel or ElementalX kernel) + naptime. I have desactivate Wifi scaning on location. I never see the flat line in battery graph with Wifi.
I use the app "gsam battery" to see the battery graph. The kernel and Android system are the first app suckers, I think it's normal. I don't see anthing unusual in battery graph. The mobile go to sleep mode correctly.
What would be the problem? What new tests I can do?
Thanks
Question: Are you using Project Fi, or any other carrier that allows for WiFi calling/texting?
To clarify: I don't think Project Fi is the culprit, but I may have a solution that I've been testing.
A common complaint that goes back to my N5 running Kit Kat. The fix was to force the device to only use 2.4Ghz Wifi, however since 7.0 Google has removed that option.
Changing router's or updating the router firmware has helped some in the past but not for me.
Does your device Doze properly on a mobile data connection also? And does wifi occasionally idle properly, say when switching back and forth between wifi and cell data? That's the case for me currently, and you know something's wrong when a 3G connection idles better than Wifi.
I'm not using Project Fi, or any other carrier that allows for WiFi calling. My carrier is vodafone, a normal carrier.
I have tested a router with 2.4Ghz only, but the problem persists.
Doze works correctly with mobile data connection and Wifi. I can see the mobile go to sleep mode correctly in both cases.
But in idle mode, wifi use a 1.5%/hour and mobile data 0.2%/hour, but I don't see nothings strange in the graphs or stadistics.
What I can I try?

Ya sounds exactly like the issue I was describing. The fix used to be to force the device to only pick up 2.4Ghz connections but Google took the option away ever since 7.0. Being on a network they only transmits 2.4Ghz doesn't help as the device is still listening to and picking up 5Ghz signals.
There is no known fix that I'm aware of. I don't think Google considers it their problem, they would likely say it's a router compatibility issue and tell us to upgrade our router firmware.
