Android 10 has been out for the G7 ThinQ for a while now, and my VZW model hasn't gotten the update yet... Is there any way to update to it, without losing the baseband or anything like that? Very inexperienced in flashing LG devices, only Samsung and Motorola devices (lost so many basebands flashing a Moto). Any help is greatly appreciated!
You can try cross flashing via Partition DL method using LG UP dual mode and then selecting developer mode. But I am not sure it will damage your baseband or not. Help from any expert is needed.

I have a LG G3 sprint version that has been unlocked using the Cloudyg3 1.2 for use with T-mobile US and of course rooted to go along with it.
Ever since the unlock I have experienced issues with maintaining a stable signal. I'm not in a dead zone or an area with lack of reception.
I can't obtain full data speeds in any location.
I at this point believe I have the wrong baseband or the wrong modem install.
I had originally paid to have my phone unlocked because of the fact that I had the zv6 variant of the OS at the time and there was no simple fix.
I also don't know a tremendous amount about the android O.S but I do know the basics and have an extensive knowledge of computers so I understand the principals and concepts. But a little bit of knowledge is sometimes worse then no knowledge because frankly I don't want to mess it up any more.
So heres what I ask if anyone can help
1. Is there a simple way to either update the baseband or the modem.img file without completely flashing it?
2. If so can you provide me with the correct and updated baseband and modem.img file for the LGLS990 model to work with T-mobile
3. If also possible a simple guide on how to do this so I don't mess it up
Any help is greatly appreaciated
Thanks
Hey guys,
Does anyone know how we can get the rollback number on our devices? I was reading this thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...wngrade-g4-t3197675/post62748057#post62748057
I guess you need to know your rollback number to do a KDZ becasue there is a chance of a hard brick. I tried the numbers highlighted below but it didn't work for Verizon. Anyone know how we could get this information?

This was not written anywhere specifically on the LG G4 forums that I could find. But every flash-addict needs to be warned. It is something you want to know before you continue tinkering.
Several users (myself included) have made the unfortunate mistake of attempting to downgrade their bootstack (for various reasons) to a former version.
DO NOT DO THIS (at least for the USA T-Mobile H811 version, and possibly other USA versions, per @autoprime)! It will result in a hard brick! Specifically, this results in the "Qualcomm QDLoader HS-USB port ( 9008 )" error. Connecting your phone to a PC will pop up with this active connection, but nothing else. There is no download mode. There is no publicly available fix as of yet.
This WILL happen both through KDZ restore as well as flashing bootstack .zips.
Yes, an official KDZ image can BRICK your USA phone, if you try to rollback.
This is in stark contrast to other manufacturers (i.e. Samsung), where the attempt to flash an older bootloader/modem/radio will simply fail, but your phone is not bricked.
I have conferred with @autoprime, who confirmed that with each OTA firmware release (on T-Mobile it was 10H, and now 10N), the version # increments. Flashing a lower version # will result in brick.
I have searched far and wide for a DIY fix. Without the proper firmwares in the right format, as well as the right flashing software, your phone is done and must be sent in for LG repair.
To check what antiroll-back version you are on, input this sequence in the dialer (T-Mobile and ATT) and scroll down:
*#*#244773825625#*#*
Flashing a bootstack version less than this # (through KDZ or zip) will brick the phone. You are free to flash anything equal or higher than the version listed.

If you are still on the original software version 10b, then you have v0. If you took the OTA (or flashed the KDZ) to 11a, then you have v1.
We have a new OTA out now, 12a. I'm not sure what version that one is, but I'm willing to bet it is v2, and you will not be able to rollback if you install it.

Yeah right now I'm stuck with 11A and I'm not sure what I should do. Even though my phone sucks the way it runs, I'm gonna hang in there and wait a couple weeks. See what comes out of 12A.
Well I don't believe there is a way to check or there is a known way of finding it yet. Apparently there is an APK app that reads it. Perhaps we can rip it from another rom and access the APK via the same method we do for accessing the Themes (using a launcher to do custom shortcuts).
The inability to KDZ back to original software is ridiculous. Just like 12A and the broken notifications. How stupid is it to force broken updates yet make it impossible to go back to previous backup/software. I am half tempted to just take the 12A update and force Verizon to give me another phone just to emphasize my dislike for their method of locking the system down.
I bought this phone a week or two ago on eBay under the model G710ULM10g and have realized that I cannot update this phone at all (and am stuck in 8.0 Oreo). I've tried using LGUP and LGBridge but neither app was able to work. I've heard a few things about flashing KDZ files but 1) I'm not great with computers and get confused really easily and 2) I don't even know if flashing a KDZ file is even what I should be doing. Can anyone here let me know what I can/should do?
This can help U https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g7-thinq/how-to/update-region-help-t4026441/post81329097#post81329097
Pie? Of course yes! If you bought a 710PM but crossflashed a 710ULM (topical from eBay Sellers) and you are stuck on Android 8 with no updated, here you can find help

What I do? -Here-

I've got a LG G7 that says it is a 710ULM but ADB phone data shows it's a CDMA / Sprint 710PM. I understand this means I should not try to flash new firmware, correct? The thing I don't understand is why it was able to be flashed to 710ULM in the first place. Is it truly a dead-end to try to mod this phone or upgrade it from Android 8?
I have the LG G8 Thinq Sprint Model (LM-G820UMKIT) bought it pre-owned. I recently saw that there was a guide to unlock and root the LG G8 however the requirements is for the device to be on Android 10. I'm currently still on Android 9 and I am unable to update via software update, or through LG Suite. Is there anyway to update to A10?

It's unfortunate, but the guide is a bit misleading. I'd bet the person that wrote it had a specific version of android, and didn't know / want to indicate it would work on any other as they hadn't tested it.
But, there's virtually zero reason the unlock procedure shouldn't work on any version of android. The reason is very simple; all you do in that guide is use edl mode (any qualcomm device can do that), you flash the engineering abl to abl partition (it won't matter what version of android the rest of the system is), you go to fastboot (that's what the eng abl gives you), you unlock the boot-loader, you use fastboot to flash the original abl back.
Makes sense? See, you don't use that eng abl to boot the OS, you don't use it for anything at all, except to unlock the boot-loader. That's it. Period. There's no reason for it to not work no matters what version of android your system is.
As far as Sprint update goes... talk to sprint, ask them for help getting it updated. Sprint does not make their kdz available, if you don't get any OTA update from them, you'll then be faced with finding someone's partition backup, and all the complications involved / and danger, of flashing that.
The other option would be to crossflash to a rom that has a kdz. It too is involved and complicated, and potentially dangerous.
good luck

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I wouldn't see why the device shouldn't be able to boot into EDL mode. I don't mind trying the unlock procedure with the guide, just sucks that there is no MSM tool to unbrick the device if anything does happen. As for updating to A10 I can live without, I only asked because the guide specified A10 as an requirement, which you already answered.

I would suggest that you look at the bkerler edl tools. Don't do anything until you backed up the device completely.
