I have used LGUP to revert back to MM (I had a Nougat build that I forgot the lock screen pattern). After going through the initial setup I got the Factory Reset Protection message so I tried the FRP removal tricks. To get one to work I had to downgrade to H815 20c firmware. After doing all that I now got a boot loop. I am back up at v29a using a .TOT file but the boot loop is still there. The screen shows the "unlocked boot loader" screen for 5s then the LG logo screen for 13s then a blank screen for 19s then it all repeats again forever.
Does anyone know what I need to do to fix it?
My when I bought the phone I was told that it had the infamous G4 boot loop fixed so I don't think it is that.

My phone is acting really weird now. I managed to use mAid and SALT to get my userdata.img and get my pictures/videos/recordings off the phone. That seems to be the only positive, the rest is all downhill.
My PC is a Windows 10 Home x64 with 16GB RAM if that makes any difference.
I have used LGUP (upgrade and refurbish), various versions of LG Flash Tool (only 2014 did anything, all others had issues with "Failed to Load" messages), LG Bridge, numerous LG USB drivers, downgraded from my broken v29a to 20p, 20d, 20c, 10c and back up to v29a again. I am seeing weird effects such as after flashing a new KDZ and getting to the initial setup I skipped the WiFi and Google logins to get to the basic phone working with ADB and USB debugging to flash TWRP and Magisk.
The phone would reboot when I tried to change the USB settings from MTP. The phone would then loop infinitely whilst connected via USB to the PC but strangely would boot to the normal phone after a few boot loops when connected via USB to a wall charger.
The screen would go blank 2 seconds after getting to the home page of the launcher.
It would also reboot under other repeatable conditions.
I was wondering if certains paritions have been messed up and not even flashing a KDZ (10c, 20c, 20d, 20p) or TOT file (v29a) in Refurbish mode would fix it. I thought a refurbish would put ALL the partitions back to a known state (leaving things like partitions with your IMEI alone). If so, then my phone should then have started behaving itself but it doesn't. After most of these flashings I could actually go through the initial setup stage of the phone but got regular reboots.
Can it really be that I need to setup the WiFi and Google account first? I can't see why that should cause random reboots.
Has anyone got any ideas? Other than the obvious - bin the phone
I managed to update the LAF partition to one that SALT says can now flash partitions but the SALT XDA page says not to flash anything with MM and N. This means SALT is only useful for backups?

Hoping someone can help me here.
My wife has a G3 that started acting up back in September or so. It would randomly turn off and reboot, usually while not even touching it. Did some looking around and found that the Facebook Messenger app could cause some instability. Removed the app, all was good for a couple of weeks before it started again. This time, we backed everything up, did a factory reset, all was good for about a week. Reboots started again so I did a hard reset from Recovery. Booted up, everything was good again for about a week again before the reboots started up. The wife ended up giving up on it and went back to her Galaxy S3.
I've been messing around with it today. Phone has been stuck in a boot loop at the LG logo. Battery is fully charged. I followed some guides and downloaded the V10c stock firmware TOT file, dated June 20th, 2014 and LGD851_20140611_LGFLASHv160.dll and loaded them up into LGFlashTool v1.8.1. Installed fresh LG drivers on my Win7 PC, followed the flashing instructions to the letter using a USB 2.0 port (as I read somewhere that 3.0 ports have caused issues on some devices). Everything flashes 100%, flash tool reads complete, phone shows a big 3 on the screen with a blue background. Unplug and reboot the device and it's right back to a boot loop at the LG logo.
Now at one point, during the flashing process, it would boot into LG MiniOS 3.1 and I was able to choose an option (chose Normal Boot) and it would go back into the boot loop. Also, I connected it to my Ubuntu machine just to see what would happen and I received an error "Unable to mount LGE Android Phone. Unable to open MTP device", which makes sense. However, the phone itself would get to the T-Mobile logo and briefly jump into the initial setup of the phone before jumping back to the LG logo and starting over again. Connecting back to my Win7 machine, it just boot loops unless I have the flash tool running. Not having USB connected, it just boot loops.
I'm at a loss here. I can usually muddle my way through these kind of things but this one has me completely stumped. Ordinarily, I wouldn't worry much about this but she's wanting to get a new phone through T-Mobile's JUMP program and we can't do that if the phone won't even boot.
Any help would be appreciated.

Good afternoon, my recommendation is that flashes with lg flash tool 2015. All you need is your phone updated driver installed on your pc. Further, you need to download the KDZ (firmware of your stock rom) corresponding to your model. Look at the XDA thread as do or YouTube. If you need more help, you can consult here.

IIRC, he's talking about going back to the latest stock firmware available from LG and flashing with with @quangnhut123's flash tool.
Thanks for both of your help on this. I actually had given up on the phone for a while. The last time I flashed, it was allowing me to get into the first time setup but wouldn't let me complete setup before rebooting. So I ordered a new battery and everything is working like it's brand new. Thanks again!
So I rooted my phone by installing the rooted 13b img. And went to install xposed framework and apk. I completed all the steps found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/themes-apps/guide-installing-xposed-locked-t3181593), and now it is stuck on the android logo....suggestions on what do do from here?
A little more detail: After completing steps verbatim, it would fail to install framework. I then read somewhere else that you need to uncheck not only auto mount but the mount option, as well. I tried that and it seemed like it must have worked as it didn't immediately fail and reboot. However, it got stuck on the android logo and after an hour or so I realized there was problem. I have pulled the battery and rebooted several times. I can boot into download mode, but cannot get it to fully boot. Since I could get it into DL mode, I used LGUP to install the 24C MM update (as I didn't have the 13B on my computer). But the result is the same...stuck on the Verizon logo even after a successful install of 24C.
Is this a case of the hardware failure that others are experiencing or is this software related? I see a lot of people with bootloop issues and mine seems to be similar but different. Mine does get past the LG screen to the next screen, but even installing a stock kdz doesn't seem to help...
UPDATE:
Well I downloaded the stock 13B kdz and flashed it via LGUP and it somehow managed to boot. It looked like it was going to be stuck on the Verizon landing page but after about 10 seconds or so it completed boot up. I have now installed the rooted 13B image and made a backup img. I might try again to install xposed framework - fingers crossed it doesn't screw up this time...
Use hyleton's 'LG G4 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) KDZ & TOT Method' that uses LGFlashTool2014.exe and do a CSE Flash - this will wipe all your data though

Thanks, I'll look into that. I was hoping that using LGUP to reflash to stock would do it...but I guess I have to remove whatever the flash tool put on my phone when trying to install the xposed framework...

So my LG G3 D855 is stuck in a very persistent bootloop since the last couple of days. I have tried everything but can't seem to bring it out of its soft-bricked state.
Here is the lowdown:
> It all started with an innocent restart.
> The phone was reverted from an earlier root. So it is unrooted at the moment.
> No recovery images are installed.
> The phone is stuck at the LG screen but weirdly sometimes goes till the 'optimizing x of x apps' screen before returning to the god forsaken loop again.
> Before getting soft-bricked it was running stock Marshmallow.
> Have tried factory resetting.
> Phone enters into download mode just fine.
> Have tried flashing stock roms via both LGUP and LG Flash tool:
} ROMS tried: D85530B_00_1217_16G (MM) and LGD855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-16G+0 (KK)
) With LGUP, my phone's model isn't recognized so can't get any further.
} With LG FLashTool, I manage to get to the 'downloading' step (after CRC bin check). The phone also displays the firmware update screen successfully. However, only like a second into the downloading the FT fails and gives the error 'can't get handset information' (or something of this sort).
} Using the LGD855AT-00-V10e-EUR-XX-JUL-08-2014-16G+0 dll with the KK rom and LGUP_8994 dll with the MM rom.

I managed to fix my phone just today.
After every flash tool had failed, I gave LG Mobile Support Tool a shot. And it detected my phone just fine. Then I managed to reflash my device using the Options > Upgrade Recovery settings. However, this didn't effect my situation.
Then, I successfully flashed the 2014 factory firmware using LG Flash Tools, and it showed Download failed on the first reboot. I was encouraged because it took like 2 minutes to get there. Initially it was failing like 10 seconds in.
Anyhow, by that time my phone had booted into the MiniOS where it showed a prompt that said "Touchscreen autotest, please don't tap anywhere" or something. I let it be for a while and it didn't budge afterwards I tried tapping 'OK' but it didn't register with the phone. Then I tried the power button shortcut to get to MiniOS > Normal boot and that wouldn't work as well. I thought something was definitely wrong with the touch system of the phone. So, I opened it up and lo-and-behold the digitizer cable was loose, it had almost become undone. After I had reseated it on the pin and powered my phone back on, it went straight to the initial setup screen - the one with the Google account and stuff.
Alas! All this for a frikkin' loose cable. Now I have to get my phone back to Marshmallow from Kitkat with iterative updates. :/ Still better than a brick of a phone though!
Just leaving it here unless someone else runs into a problem of this sort!

Hello, first of all I want to apologise if this problem was already discussed, I tried searching in threads and also using the old friend google, but found nothing related.
So, yesterday, I managed to flash the a.o.s.c.p cypher OS (https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/development/g4-cypheros-t3680102), Oreo version, and after I tried rooting with Magisk I've got bootloop issues with the rom. After this, I reinstalled the zip file and it managed to go back to the OS, but every installed app would crash when tried to open. Because I did not find my backups (not too organised, I know) I tried flashing through LG UP the "LGH815 EU Nougat 7.0 BySezerSimsek.tot" file I had downloaded on my laptop, unfortunatelly, after 10~ seconds, the download mode just restarted and since then (though, it was doing this before I tried to flash with LG Up, but I thought that after I start flashing it will not reboot...), everytime I try to boot my device either normal or to recovery mode, it goes automatically to download mode, where it stays for 10 seconds and then reboots (So I'm not able anymore to use LG UP).
Also, tried LGMobile Support tool, but because I cannot keep the phone in download mode more than 10 seconds, it fails to do anything, it finished to download a firmware for it, but was unable to flash it.
Is there any chance I can "revive" it? the battery was about 50% when I started the first try with download mode, so now, it should be around 20-30% I guess.
In Download Mode, in the box, it says:

P.S.1: After reading some more threads, I found that some people were stuck at 9% while flashing with lg up, but for me, as I said before, the download mode just keeps restarting no matter what I do with it ( even if I just leave it not connected to the pc)
P.S.2: After some more flashing with LGUP tries, I came to conclusion that the download mode restarts after ~17 seconds, and now, in the rectangle it says:

P.S.3: I have been trying to flash "Europe H81520D_00_0115.kdz" and sometimes, if I get the timings right, I can get up to 25% (it restarts at 9%, ~19% and then 24-25%, so, it doesn't always give error after restarting and reconnecting to LG UP). I used the .dll extracted from .kdz file.
Hello, i have the exact same problem as yours with the same custom rom.
My phone stays around 20 seconds in download mode, i can launch LG UP to flash H81520i but 20 seconds is just not enough to flash the LG G4 firmware AFAIK.
I did see that there are some ways to launch the Qualcomm emergency mode but we'll need to disassemble the phone to short two pins to force it to boot in this mode.
I finally found the solution ! Follow this tutorial : https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/guide-proper-h815-unbrick-qfil-files-t3709212 You'll need to disassemble the phone in order to do this tutorial, after you've done the emmc flash you will need to reflash a rom with LGUP.

I already fix my G4, but unfortunatelly I do not have like a detailed fix because: I went to a "Phone repair shop" and I left my phone there for one day. As I said, before I was not able to boot into recovery, the phone was restarting in download mode after ~17 seconds, and I had no idea about the battery percentage.
The next day I took back the phone and the guy there told me that there was not much he could do, but when I got home, the moment I tried to boot it, it went to recovery mode (twrp) where I tried to install a ROM (I forgot which one, but it was a .zip) and it failed to mount /cache. After that, I tried booting into download mode where it stayed for as long time as I needed without restarting. I was trying to flash 20D version (failed at 25% everytime) until I found this thread where the advice was to use the 20P version. After that it just worked fine.
So, I have no idea what did the guy from the "repair shop", I don't now if it was just related to my battery "running out of juice" or maybe he used any other "magic" box with tools for android smartphones (I've got back my phone with ~60% battery).
Also, before I went to the repair shop, I tried a method I found on xda, unfortunately I could not find the link right now, where I had to format a micro sd card and kind of "flash" (it's not actually flashing) a file to the SD card, put it inside the phone and just boot into Download mode (I'm not sure if it affected somehow the state of my phone)

Prior to this update the battery used to last sometimes 2.5 days (yes that's a fact!!). Probably because I only use the phone for occasional txts and email checking with a smidge of surfing, Google mapping in the car............................no twittering/facebooking/social media-ing
My aim was to try and unlock the bootloader to try and install an older version of LG's Rom using a thread found on this site :

I have tried booting phone with down key + power button on/off getting screens that says clean out apps to which I pressed Yes, a little green robot appearing then rebooting to same LG logo with blue flashing Led again.
During the bootloader unlocking process I found the only way to carry out the first processes of the above thread was to download, and install onto a memory stick, the FWUL linux setup from this thread (for could not manage to get the device-ID for the LG unlock key process for love nor money using a W10 laptop with LG drivers installed):

Are you able to get into download mode?
Try the following:
i) Make sure you have the LG Drivers installed from here: http://oceanhost.eu/e4h2px4e0hkd/LGMobileDriver_WHQL_Ver_4.0.4.exe.htm
ii) Download the LG Bridge software from here: http://www.lg.com/us/support/product-help/CT10000025-1438110404543-preinstall-apps
iii) Remove the battery and reinsert it so the device it is fully off.
iv) While holding the up volume button, insert your USB cable.
v) You should enter download mode. Go to the Software Update tab of the LG Bridge. It will say connecting and then should say your device is up to date. Click on the recovery text on the bottom right and then follow the instructions. The software will download the system image for you and this is roughly 1.6GB so make sure your firewall doesn't block this connection.

As I was desperate to get my phone back up and running, I continued to trawl this forum after posting, and came across virtually exactly what you have said to try, and spent a few hours trying to get phone into a 'download mode' and into LG Bridge:silly:
The result was (and after several attempts to bridge into my phone, and getting 'unknown device' messages, I got the software to identify my phone correctly as a H815), and away it went. Downloading and installing something that gave the result of a successful boot into a fresh marshmallow.
So all is good, and I have aborted trying to get the previous version of marshmallow back onto my phone, to try and improve the battery usage back to how it was before installing the latest patch to v20p!!!

I can confirm I have successfully unlocked my G4 via the LG website.
I have installed TWRP flash (I think? ) I got a blue menu screen with a load of buttons after flashing LGG4-twrp.img, from which I chose the full system backup option which gave message it had been successful - then disaster struck when I found my phone would not boot up anymore......then my post on this forum.
As I have said to Htr5 above, I managed to get my phone back using the LG Bridge app and downloading from the LG site something that was 1.5 Gb in size and which then booted my phone into android 6 v 20p - EUR -xx.
So the file you have posted the link to says it is for v 7.0 Nougat v29A which was never on my phone?
What are the consequences of me using this file? Also do I use the same LG Bridge app to do the flashing, if I decide this file is okay to use?
