Any of the roms have battery charge limit functions? I understand that we do have Battery Charge Limit app in Play Store, but it requires root. I need roms that have these functions without root or Magisk. I plan to replace MIUI with custom roms without root
Crdroid, havoc has this
ArrowOS
Battery charge limit doesn't work on mine, none does. On top that my phone drains incredibly on idle. But thank God the battery isn't that had to replace.

Hello everyone. One of the problems that i am having is the charging that usually takes up 6 hours to fully charge from 10-20%. Also i thing the battery is draining faster than it should. These problems have been there since the beginning that i bought the tablet( lg V510). I have tried charging with 3 different charges and outlets with the same result... Is there anything that i can do, or should i just try the warranty?
Have you tried another charger cable...

For the battery drain and other issues, root your device and install the Xposed Framework, then Greenify and AppOpps. For some other tweaks, download the sleekai kernel, and you should find your battery life much improved.
For charging, yes, it takes a while, but it sounds like you may be using a different charger than that which came with the device. Also, I have enabled Fast Charge in the sleekai kernel as an option for you to explore.
I have tried other cables too with no difference.... Could a defective battery be causing this slow charging?
Also enabling fast charging meaning you are charging in how much time?
Thanks for the help
I got stock os with all the fancy stuff disabled.
My battery charges 1% per minute when between (0-85%) after that charging slows down.
It doesnt however fully charge it usually wont go higher than 97%.
Battery drains 1%/h in standby
5%\h listening to offline-music
Today I had 6h 5 min with 3:54 on-screen time ( starting from 93% down to 2%.
About the same for me but I can do a full charge in 45min coming from about 9%
About the same, recent CM builds are better. I'm considering the Nexus ROM
Sent from my Fire Phone using Tapatalk
At first i thought the battery life was ok, then i switched to the nexus rom for a while and came back to stuck because i wanted my camera back. There is a huge difference in battery life as far as I'm concerned. Stuck OS burns way more battery when idle but then again it has a lot more bloat :/ so it's to be expected
I get awesome battery life. On rooted stock with third party launcher with various tweaks. Way better than my desire or Moto g or Moto x or nexus 4 ever were.
Agreed, all other roms besides stock get awesome battery life. I've disabled or uninstalled as many apps as possible and the battery still drains unacceptably fast at idle. If we could get a stock rom modified to get the battery life of a custom rom that would make this phone perfect for me.

I consider the battery in mine to be working very well and use ~33.3% every two hours with the screen at full brightness and constant touching for reading. So looks like its about the same.
Standby is ~50% used in 48 hours with wifi on and background apps using the internet.
That's based on the apps I use and whatever they're doing in the background to wake the cpu, use wifi, etc.
Stock rom with the 'fancy stuff' disabled as well.
Anyone knows if is any way to disable fast charge?
Dont like fast charge since is worst for battery life.
For Battery Life is fine. This model dont have any fast charge or something similar. The charger included its fine and cant damage the battery.
Do not mix stanrdard fast charging (=being able to suck more than 1A from the charger) and QuickCharge (Qualcomm charging technology, involving e.g temporarily increase of charging voltage well above 5V and charging current well above 2A). A2 Lite is able to fast charge, just use Ampere or similar software and you see how much current it takes.
To the OP: I read that some custom kernels have this possibility, but no idea if any of few customs roms for our device has this capability. By using external software you can limit battery charge to e.g 80%, which would help a bit, or simply use one of old chargers, which could push around 500-700 mA max.
I'm using this magisk module: https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/module-magic-charging-switch-cs-v2017-9-t3668427
Basically it helps to extend battery life by limiting the maximum charge, charging the phone slowly on certain range of battery level or when the battery reaches certain temperature.

I wondered about this too. If you're not in a hurry (say, charging overnight) then maybe the slower charge will ensure optimum battery life.
I find that using a long (2M), cheap charging cable prevents fast charge!
That's understandable because the electrical resistance will be higher than a short/quality cable, so limits the charging current.

I use the root app " battery charge limit", i personally limit the battery charge to 80%.

Accubaterry app does that without root. (i think)
About fastcharging with 5v2a i think that isn't so bad for battery. (battery on my phone doesnt even really warm up)
There were some problems, on my previous phone with quickcharge. (and phone was really hot after charging)
And battery was already almost 2years old. And with using quickcharger it got really bad battery in few months.

Accubattery only can warning you about the % charge, but still charging, to stop the charge needs root, since the control file is on system partition.
Hello everyone. I am newbie here.I have a question. After I have updated to MIUI 12.0.6, android system has started to drain my battery( Same day I've dropped the phone and inserted second SIM to my phone. I don't know theese are related) . I used to charge my phone once a day and I was getting about 6 and 7 hours of screen time now it is about 3 hours. Even I dont't use the phone it is using power. I've downgraded to 12.0.5 then to MIUI 11 but did not work. Still same. What am I supposed to do? Any thoughts? Thank you.
check battery health, download accubattery app, after few charging cycles it will display your battery current capacity, if its fine then youll need to calibrate your battery. if its not then probably fault with the battery.
Calibrate Battery is very simple. Charge your phone to 100% then use it and completely discharge it to 0
then switch off phone and charge to 90% then use upto 0 again. now 3rd time charge normally. if you followed these steps then you should be getting better battery. This all i know , if it doesnt work then try to find solution in Youtube.

I have been using AccuBattery since i bought my XRN8P, I only ever charge to 80% apart from the off 100% charge to calibrate the battery gauge every couple of months and my battery health is shows as 99%
So i have not noticed any drop in battery runtime at all.
I was facing the same issue on my Xiaomi. After applying these fixes, my battery life is normal now. You can try these solutions.
Clear Google Play Services Data
Wipe Android System Cache
Restrict Background Activities Of Rarely Used Apps
Uninstall Unused Apps
Disable Automatic Backups

Does someone know how to set charging limit on Redmagic devices or in Redmagic 8 Pro either in root mode or non root? I know the phone already have charge Separation which is actually good to maintain battery good health over time and the feature allows one to use the device over extended period of time without worrying about battery draining since the phone is already connected directly to the power source.
Newer devices also has battery safety measures already in place to ensure the phone won't go overcharging where in the phone will report that the phone is already at 100% where in fact the phone isn't actually at 100% charged. The real battery charged is actually 90 - 98% only but I wanted to know if there's a way to limit charging for idle for a period of time and the wouldn't go 100%.
I wanted to limit the charging up to 80% only where the battery wear level is at the minimum. Having a fast charging I can't monitor all the time if it's already charged 80% most of the time . I already have an alarm, an automation for battery charging where it Notifies me when the battery charged reached certain level but still the charging is way too fast and if I have something to do I would left it with more charged than it would have. Thanks for your input.

Haven't had any luck so far. I tried using the ACC magisk module and even with the more advanced charging switches nothing was working .
Maybe it's not possible

Thanks for trying and maybe one day you might able to succeed..
I found this line of code somewhere here in XDA
echo 80 > /sys/devices/platform/google,charger/charge_stop_level
This code works for Pixel devices and I thought it may work similarly for Redmagic devices if we locate where the file responsible for charging.
I haven't tried it myself as my phone isn't rooted at this time and I'm not sure if rooting Redmagic devices is a success.
