Been using custom DNS for a while just to block ads and found a good list was useing adgaurd until found out they have high mms /ping giving adhole a try now here is a good list
p3.freedns.controld.com
dns.adguard.com
dns.oszx.co
dns.nextdns.io
dot.nl.ahadns.net
dot.ny.ahadns.net
dns.decloudus.com
dnsforge.de
dot-de.blahdns.com
dot-fi.blahdns.com
dot-ch.blahdns.com
uk.adhole.org
us-east.adhole.org
New
d6fa62.dns.nextdns.io
Which dns could block facebook sponsored ads?
uk.adhole.org works really well. But the overall connection becomes a Lil slow. Anything that is lighter than this?
If your rooted you can use adaway and use your oww blocklists and upstream dns server

Use adway then add your own blocklists, the default ones are kinda lacking, I get all mine from https://firebog.net/ witch is a collection of blocklists

Hey,
So I want to use the wireless tethering in the stock ROM, but i'm not sure how to remove the subscription check. FoxFi doesn't seem to work, nor does Wifi Tether for Root Users. Is it like Moto phones in where you find the carrier information and modify it with an SQL editor? I'm kind of confused.
Thanks!
Zeke.

I installed Foxfi from the store ...opened it...left it as an open network...set the pin lock...accepted the credential. ..it asks to go to my settings to start up wifi hotspot...
Hope this helps.
Foxfi works perfectly fine on my retail note. My ps4, laptop and iPad all connect without an issue. I do have the paid key
For those of you that have the paid version, are you missing the menu button? I also downloaded the add on and somehow the extra options including the proxy settings are missing. Doesn't the proxy settings allow you to conceal the data usage from Verizon?

I tested the demo version first to make sure it worked, then bought the app. Never had any problems.. The enhanced LTE in the Detroit area is FAST!

Long press the recents button for the menu. Same goes for any app missing the menu button.
Anyone know how to do it, or if it's even possible?! Thanks!

It's possible, I found 1 called "Block it" seems to work, I did find that it was slowing down some of my apps though, the only noticeable 1 is Facebook
Block it available in the app store?

Bad reviews are from those who didn't realize they had to set it up and not just install it. It's NOT great but it works.. I notice today using Tunein Radio that it wouldn't start until I turned blockit off.
Frankly I'll be happier with root then I can go back to my better ad blockers.

How do you set it up to get it working properly? I'm very used to AdAways simplicity lol.
Im using Firefox with adblock plus mod. Works great.

Adaway 3.3 . It's been a long time coming! :good:
I prefer AdGuard. It's worked for me for quite a long time now. I've never used AdAway. I'm not sure which is better.
So far none of these work on Instagram which sucks. Must have their own special way to annoy us.

Bugfixed version HERE. Sorry, was catching up reading the thread a few weeks back and then hit a newer "beta" which fixed a problem with the initial release. When it is final it will be posted in the OP and F-Droid.
I'm using DNS66 from Fdroid. Small app, simple and it works. Just make sure you use right hosts. The default hosts started showing some ads so I replaced all hosts with just one - from https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1916098
Did some reading I guess on Instagram of you report the ads as in appropriate will get rid of them and over a week you should see far less or none.
I wouldn't post this if i was not for sure. I thought i was going crazy once i seen there was a new beta version out and installed it, version 5.0.3. I missed having Adaway enough that i would install it without root just to see the icon and to click around in it from time to time............not weird at all, i know
It even works for apps!......Download 'Ad Boom' from the Play Store and see for yourself
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190753
Apparently its no secrect, people are there talking about it but i'm so glad it works without root that i'm spreading the word. And because i didn't find it here, i just came across it on web.
Yes, thanks to vpn based adblock solution
No crazy at all, it works great and no need to root any more

Wooo......slow down there buddy ?. There is always reasons to root. If only to change the bootanimation or to simply stop seeing "Permission Denied". I use Termux a lot and i will get "Permission Denied" for various reasons. It's nice being able to type "su" and seeing $ go to # then typing in that same command and it doesn't hesitate because now your the boss.
Change my mind ?
Yes, I do have an unrootable Note 10, lol (long story). Means nothing, I stand firm

Hello looking for help as I can't figure out what's wrong. I've tried downloading the code on only wifi and only mobile data and I still get the api error. I'm not running any add blockers.
Using magisk canary.
I just came here to post this exact question and you beat me to it. I'm having the same issue, but I did verify that SafetyNet passes using another app from the play store, so the issue seems specific to magisk.

Oh well, that looks bad. May switch to iPhone if that's the case. Pixel phones lack performance and other Android phones have a quite bad software experience in comparison, oneplus included.
My plan was to switch to a pixel rom soon to have the best of both worlds like I did with previous OnePlus phones as well. Now I may not be able to do that without losing many features. Thanks Google!

Per the link above, this is just an issue with Magisk app's API key, and the dev already has a fix. No reason to do anything drastic like switching to iPhone.

It is weird, some people still have others don't. It was temporarily removed in the last few updates for Google Pixel phones bootlooping. I have tried all 3, stable beta and Canary builds. All 3 have it missing.
