Set to 90 and restart.
And be careful, the system (display) must be set to 120

It's in both, 21.7.21 removed 90hz option.
If you're really interested in lots of extra options like 90hz and Anti-Flicker Mode in the Settings, try out MiuiVN.

i bought the shark 3 but when i switch to 90hz nothing happen and i didnt find good answer,if its not move to 90 hz is it bug with my phone??
should i replace it?(and no i dont want to adb to force) caause it like the shark 3 pro is say the same 90 hz Intelligent so it cant be that it doesnt work?
plz only if you know... straight from the box it should work the 90hz or just for gaming and youtube (like few people say)
It only works in games and few apps. I have the Chinese version and Chrome supports 90hz on my phone. You can force apps to 90hz by added them to game space in settings. The 90hz support is terrible on this phone. There is nothing wrong with your device thats just how it is.

But even had this setting remembered.
Should be the same in Miui and any custom ROM, if I'm not completely mistaken somehow.

It's a known issue, there are already several threads about this, here on Xda.
It's fixed in latest China firmware, so maybe it will come later in other regions. All apps are 120hz now (I don't know about games, I don't play games).
Your friend can wait or he can flash the latest Xiaomi.eu custom ROM.

Dude i ll just tell the best working way download the tool which has been attached for that u need to have java installed that is also been attached.
Method ,
in developer options turn on USB Debugging and open the tool (Xiaomi adbfastboot tools) and delete the battery and performance and booo ur phone is in 120hz always
Tell me if ur friends issue is fixed or not
DO NOT delete the "battery and performance". It will cause instability in the system and other performance issues. This guy above me is giving you bad advice.

It's definitely not working flawlessly like you describe.
I published my own fix sometime ago too but it's not flawless either...
It's practically impossible to disable adaptive refresh rate smh.
Such a bad feature , singlehandedly killed all my good will towards this company

Is my phone defective or is this present in every mi11x cause this is a software bug ?
Clear the data of Battery and performance app. That should do the trick. But it will return when you reboot. I do that in mine a few days and it somehow fixed it self. Now I don't do clear data trick. I'm on 120fps all the way with no color/brightness shift.

I'm not sure, but try disabling "Smoothen transitions" and "Sunlight mode" in Settings > Display > Brightness level, as well as disabling "Adaptive colors" in Color Scheme section.
I remember doing some of this fixed the problem.
Please share your results with us.
No bro it doesn't help it's still the same.
Is this problem fixed in miui 13 ?
Or is this a hw issue which means my unit is defective ?
I have tested in my phone, I can see color changes in the lapse between 60-120hz transition if the color scheme is saturated and adaptive colors is enabled. You need to try with a hard reset, I know is annoying, but we decide to get a Mibuggi phone.
It's happens to me when on arrowos 12 but setting the minimum refresh rate to 120hz fixes it for me, would prefer to have the minimum set the 60hz but this is my only work around

Well I have just spent the past half hour or so trying to reproduce your issue. With 'show refresh rate' enabled in dev options I see no change at all with whatever settings I try. I cannot see or reproduce you issue with my poco f3. However, I am running a custom rom - AICP 16.1.....
I'm not sure if this is the sole reason I don't have your problem, and I'm not saying you don't have a hardware problem. But, why not try a custom rom to see if you can reproduce th issue. I see you have been around XDA for a while so should know your way around flashing a custom rom to check... Might be easier and quicker than sending your phone off for possible repair. Also, one of the first things the repair center may well say (I'm assuming) is to try and factory reset you phone after backing up.
SO, my point is, if you are that worried its a hardware issue, and assuming the service center will just ask you to factory first of all, why not backup as much as you can and try a custom rom... see if it persists.
You can always make a note of what rom version you are running now and download it just in case. Then flash the custom rom and if the problem is still there and you need to send your phone off to the service center, just reflash the original rom locking the bootloader during flash. The service center will never know it has been flashed etc

Hi,
I use the EU rom, V12.5.8.0.RJDCNXM.
It's perfect, the phone is rooted.
I just want to try out the stock Always On Display, but I can't.
On the global rom, it is easy, in the developer options, disable the miui optimisations, and the AOD is available as an option in the settings.
However, in the EU rom, there is no miui optimisations option in the developer settings.....
I can reach the AOD setting ( activity launcher ) but not working. There is any flashable file from Magisk or from TWRP, to enable the AOD?
Please leave the "clever comments" why you need or stuf like that..... I just like to try out.
Thanks
AOD works only on AMOLED Displays, isn't it? Mi 10T is LCD screen and hence AOD won't work. That's probably the reason why you don't find that setting.

Yes, but on other xiaomi phones also solved, example RN8P.... btw, the old LG G5, and G6 also knew with LCD. So, by default strongly not recommended, but not impossible
