Do you know if could it support raw with a third part app?

Hi! Which are those?
And are autofocus and processing also slow on gcam?
I can confirm as well. Raw-supoort with the app OpenCamera.
But the quality sucks. Better with standard app and jpg!

The Google Camera with HDR+ uses algorithms that aren't possible to get with Camera1API, that's why Camera2API was developed. The GCam only opens if it detects that the new API is activated, otherwise it force closes.
If you have it activated and wanna see the difference between API1 and API2 download Open Camera, go to configurations, disable the option "use Camera2API" to force the use of API1, go to HDR mode and take a photo. It will take 3 pictures with different bracketing and merge them together, this process without API2 will take 5-10 seconds. After that go to configurations, enable the option "use Camera2API", go to HDR and take another picture. The process now will take up to 1-2 seconds. With API2 it's faster and the results are better.
Thanks for the explanation
just to help out people on a stock rom wondering why it immediately closes when they open it

I'm an android developer and I need to know if this phone is implementing the depth module from the camera 2 api.
Is someone available to install a very simple apk (attached) that lists the camera capabilities and post the screenshot with the output?
It would mean a lot, thanks.

The app just lists the camera functions supported by each camera. you can install on V30 but I already know that it doesn't have depth capability

Well, this is bad news, whats the point of adding a TOF camera if you don't expose it in the api? Only for some portrait adjustments in your own camera app and even those don't work that well according to the reviews.

The p30 has a tof camera on the rear as for the g8 it is on the front so if you think you can improve the rear portrait videos by implmenting the tof data differently you are wrong.

I'm pretty sure the only reason LG cared about the tof cam is for face unlock. It works seamlessly, while everything else here that uses tof are half baked gimmicks.
Does face Id is supported for third party apps authentication?
Hello,
What is the best camera app to shot in RAW so as I can edit?
Do you know a better raw files than the original?
Thanks
RAW files are direct from the sensor! Any app capable of shooting RAW will give you the same file!
Only difference is if a third-party app let you save the 64MP RAW images from the telephoto sensor
Edit - it appears I may be wrong in this statement as others have outlined below.

Because it's not true what he says. Gcam for example uses a lot of image processing technologies like even before the demosaicing process, that contribute to a better picture. as far as i remember even burst images are melted into the raw picture. That's why you have much better dynamic range and details and noise as in other RAW-Cameras. As long as this is not standardized and enabled via API for all new Phones/Apps, using RAW in Smartphones beside GCAM does not make any sense.
Ok, so for me the RAW from GCAM is way better than the original RAW.... it's not all the same RAW files finally.
The one of the S20 is not really good to me... What do you think ?
Do you think that it will be possible to shot RAW with the Ultra Wide Sensor and the 64mpx? One day...?
Hello
Can you take Raw photos with the telephoto camera or it's only for main?
If yes can you get better results than the generated jpeg (automatic) ?

Raw selected in pro on left jpeg selected in pro on right. Both were saved as jpeg by the camera.
Both were taken with telephoto at max zoom.
I see no difference in quality
Pro mode is only available on the main sensor.

Hi
who has got a staple mod for this phone?
All cameras should work.
Flash is important.
I find bsg v8.7.250 quite reliable but quality is unstable.
Maybe a well written config file can help?
If any one here has a hint on how to get the best out of this phones camera, please let me know
OG honor camera on v6.0.0.180 sucks In pro mode, blurry and noisy. No matter the setting or camera used.
Big kaka works great, and working on all lenses too, change interface to pixel 3 XL, and increase the exposure by 2.5 stops so picture is not dark.

I use LMC R16 https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/google-camera/dev-hasli/f/dl12/ on my Magic5 Pro. Works decently for the most part but unfortunately for some reason, the optical stabilization doesn't work on the telephoto.

not sure if it's better, I'm just more used to LMC as I've used it on my other phones.
It should work after installing, but if you want to use the Telephoto and Ultra-wide then you can import the config I attached to this post.
Put it in internal storage/LMC8.4 folder.

OIS (on telephoto) doesn't work in any GCam port on this phone. Honor must have blocked it from being used in third party camera apps.

The GoogleCameraEng one. With this phone the package doesn't matter apparently, because the ultra wide and telephoto are detected. It's just that the OIS doesn't work on tele, no matter what.
Ois seems to be working on lmc, with this xlm.
Try this xlm
In addition camera settings change the tele cam from 3 to 4, in list id
If it's dark adjust exposure to +2
All cameras are working
Ois is 100% working on tele, I can tell the difference between the tele and and normal 1x which does not have ois
In LMC tweaks make sure ois is checked
Wide, ultra wide and tele
