Hi,
I just got my OnePlus 3 a couple of days ago and am very happy with it overall.
The only thing I don't like about Android right now, is the confusing and limited Notification Priority Setting feature. It's just impossible to set it up correctly.
I just want to be able to quickly change between Silent / Vibrate / Sound.
I'm aware that you can change between Sound and Vibrate with the volume keys, but I would prefer it if I could somehow set up the physical switch on the OnePlus 3 to do that.
Is there any app / mod out there that could do this?
I would be interested in this as well. Also, I feel like the order of the slider should be flipped with all notifications at the top and no notifications at the bottom next to the volume buttons.
Agreed. An option to reverse the order would be greatly appreciated as well.

Works with OP3. No root needed.

Can they be reversed though? Putting the "all notifications/alerts" on the top and "none" at the bottom?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nqk.vibratemodeextended
Appears to work to substitute priority mode with vibration mode, unfortunately no option to reverse the slider. This developer's other app that includes that reverse feature does not work at all yet.
Edit: I can get Tasker to detect all positions of the slider but I don't know a way to set the settings for reversal. Simply making the top slider position set Do Not Disturb to "All" does not have an effect, nor does setting the bottom position to "None".
Yeah would be great to change this from the settings menu and not in Tasker... Googling seems like alot of people been asking for it since the oneplus 2
Hi, Need some help. I can't seem to find any I interruption menu within sounds and notifications? Was there an update which replaced that?
I use the app "Alert Slider". You need exposed installer to use it (but its awesome anyways). Its super stable and very customizable.
Options:
Reverse slider. (Top to bottom: All / Interruption / None)
* Custom action for each position:
- All
- Interruption
- None
- Airplane mode
- Flashlight
- Vibrate
- Do nothing
Custom Slider by Wheathon has many options including reversing the order. You can set your BT on-off, WiFi on-off, torch on-off etc in addition to the volume settings, and all using the slider's three positions. But it requires Xposed. And it will work only on OOS and not on the community build.

I find that app quite weird. For example if you want to add a torch, you need to assign one to on and an other one to off. Same for Bluetooth, cellular data, wifi ect. There is no point, we only got 3 positions. The app I suggested turns the flashlight one when the slider is on a position and turns off when you move the slider to a other position.

The dev is endlessly repeating in his thread that each position of the slider can have umpteen number of actions because many people have not understood it correctly.
For eg. if you assign torch-on to the top and torch-off to the middle, it doesn't mean that two positions of the slider are lost leaving you with only the bottom position for other actions. You can assign wifi-off, BT-on etc to the top position in addition to the torch-on and assign wifi-on, BT-off etc to the middle one in addition to torch-off. There are 24 actions possible in that app and any number of them can be assigned simultaneously to any position.
But I think that in the other app which you mentioned, only one action per position is possible.
Hi friend, this free app gives to you the solution and dont need root:

I really like my new Oneplus 3, even its size, which I thought would be unbearable. But after using it for a couple days I have at last found something that I really dislike. From what I can tell, the do not disturb settings from vanilla Android have been nixed in favor of the alert slider. Thus one cannot automate times during which, say, the phone allows no notifications or allows only priority level notifications. Nor can do not disturb settings be activated from, say, a widget on the device: the alert slider must be used for everything. I presume the reason is that they don't want the settings to conflict with the slider (eg, going into a do not disturb mode when the slider is in the bottom most position).
However, I would like to be able to control these things from software. Is there any solution involving rooting? The only thing I don't want to do is install a new ROM (I don't want to lose the dash charging).
I am really interested about this too. Loosing the automated acttions such as DnD and Night mode are a setback for me.
Are there any ROMs out there which have at least tackled the DnD issue? The slider could be used then for something else (lock portrait mode, lamp light etc...)
Most apps and widgets I've tried since posting simply don't work, with one exception. I've found that the app Do Not Disturb by Cabooze (sorry, can't link) replicates the missing functionality and seems to mute notifications even when the alert slider is set in the bottom position. This is really not ideal (I would trade the alert slider for stock do not disturb in a second) but is an adequate stop gap.
Thanks for the info, that app seems to be working. But the feeling is the same. I fee like back in the days the function did not exist in stock, looking for tricks/apps and wondering if what I found will be reliable... still hoping we see soon solid custom roms which also offer a solution for all the missing automation.
You can surely use tasker for this...
i've designed an Alert Slider software override (non-root) for the OnePlus 3 (probably works on the newer OnePlus phones as well) It allows for scheduled setting of sound profiles. Need some advice on interest and how to Beta release.

Hi,
So I've had the phone for a couple days now, and I love it. But today I received the nougat update and I have one little (major) issue:
When in any of the none-silent notification modes, it's set to ringer only. I used to have it on vibrate only, mostly in priority mode with vibrate, so it wouldn't ring. How do I get this back? Putting the volume all the way down doesn't change it to vibrate anymore, and nor does tapping on the actual bell icon.
Thanks
I have the same problem. After update I accidentally turned volume up and now I can't turn it back to vibrate. My level of sound stops at 14% and I can't make it vibrate-only. Any ideas?

This doesn't solve the issue. You still can't have the phone vibrate to only priority notifications.
With the slider on the top position (with vibration enabled in the settings) the phone will vibrate for every notification. And if you want to switch to a "drop dead" mode with no notifications at all you would always need to go in the settings to change the vibration option of the silent profile.
Major step back by oneplus.
I want that exact same thing too. So:
Silent - silence all except alarm (with option to vibrate)
Do not disturb - all the current options + option to vibrate for the ones enabled and no sound
Ring - standard mode. Sound for all + option to vibrate.
It's strange that they've missed such a common feature.
The functionality is moved to slider now. Turn the slider all the way up to silent mode and press the grear icon to select the vibration option.
Easy. Love it much more now.

Such a glaring omission by OnePlus.
I have solved the problem by installing Ringer Modes. This app allows you to put a tile in your quick settings that will change ring modes, including Vibrate mode!

That's not an omission. That's how it's meant to be in Nougat update. Now people will actually use the Alert Slider more often.
Personally, I love this implementation much more than before.

This seems to be terrible functionality to me. With my old Nexus phone all I needed to do was 1) Hold the Volume Down button and it would go into vibrate only mode. All it took was one button click. Now you are saying I need to: 1) Move the Alert Slider 2) Click the gear 3) Enable vibration 4) Exit out of settings page to continue what I was doing.
Four steps whereas before it only took one. That is a enormous step back in functionality in my mind.

You only have to do it once, brother Once the slider is set to vibrate on silent mode, you only have to touch the slider. It's quicker than 'holding' the volume button.
Cheers.

Actually, you're right. I just tried that and it works. Now that I think about it I'm not sure why I originally assumed I'd need to select vibrate every single time.
Not bad at all just a little different than I'm used to.
I don't understand the functionality, can you explain again?
When i have vibration enabled in silent mode, how do i quickly enable and disable vibration? (before all I had to do was move the slider)
I think LOS roms still have the feature that you need
Hi Guys,
How to activate silent mode in the 5t like we have on Samsung phones? I am able to reduce volume but it cannot be reduced fully. I am looking for complete silent mode+vibration only for calls mode.
Thanks
Does the hardware slider on the left side of the phone help?
The topmost position seems to be doing exactly that, except that alarms will also ring.
Do you want to even get rid of the alarms?
Thread closed,
Looks like we had some Gremlins in the servers again. Please use this thread:

Over volume button You have slider to switch sound profiles, test it in all 3 states. You can also set own settings in there.

Have tried the DND button but a. it disables all the vibration and b. it does not solve the purpose of silent for every call, sms, notification etc and vibration for them all. Never thought such a simple setting would be missing.
I'm using "Ringer Modes - Quick Tile" to get the mode like Samsung
Just slide the switch on the left side of the phone (right above the volume buttons) all the way up. That's the vibrate only mode.
If you switch it to the middle you get Do Not Disturb mode and all the way down is normal mode. The switch work the exact same way as the silent/vibrate mode of all other phones.
