Hi,
I have a Xiaomi mi 10t and when I put one of my picture as a wallpaper the picture is darker (see pictures attached: left one Wallpaper - right one the original).
Is there a way to avoid that ?
Thanks in advance.
It might be that the night (dark) mode is on - my wallpaper is always darker in the evening since dark mode switches on at night.

I've noticed that the lockscreen adds a dark tint on the wallpaper.
Is there anyway to remove that dark tint (regedit perhaps)? Really ruins some colorful pictures and makes already dark pictures even darker =/
Thanks!
not sure what you mean - the screen dims after a little while but i havent noticed this problem on my omnia 7 - what device are you using?

It's not the screen that is the problem, it's the wallpaper that is slightly tinted.
The information text is clear white but the wallpaper I have in the background is somewhat darker than the original (compared if I open it up in the pictures hub).
Try opening a picture and see the brightness, and then set is as lockscreen wallpaper and look at it again on your lockscreen. It is slightly darker.

It's slightly darker on the lock screen, but it doesn't bother me. It's so little...
I know its probably not what you want to hear but how about install one of the many photo editing programs? For example Thumba Photo Editor lets you adjust brightness and contrast
Yeah, I guess I'll have to edit the pictures beforehand.
Would be easier if there was a registrytweak or something instead
Thanks for your responses
Hi everyone
I noticed that some pictures - mostly 960x800 wallpapers with plain colors transition look good on a computer but in Desire they look like in a "less colours mode" (like not 16bit but 256colours)
it is the same in the gallery - they are smooth when you browse them, but after there is just one on the screen - it sharpens and smooth color transition is lost and they look bad set as wallpaper
i cannot attache a pic but the color transition is not smooth but graduate..
some other pic like face photos, bigger resolution looks OK
is it just a pic/wallpaper issue? is there way to convert those pic to look better?
Might be the file format of the pic. Depends on the depth of the pic as well. If normal images are fine then it'll be the wallpapers.
Just made some tests... it's not a pic
I installed "quic pic" - another photobrowser from android market - and it shows pics very good
- contrarywise I would say - first- pic is loaded quickly - then the quality gets better - looks 24 bit
but when I click - set as a wallpaper - it goes back to showing crappy image, like 8 bit depth...
choosing to set wallpaper directly by the "quic pic" - sets the wallpaper right -like 24 bit, great colours transition...
Hey Everyone,
I just bought the Tab S 8,4 LTE version, and i got a little issue. I know that the native resolution of the display is 2560x1600. I don't like the stock wallpapers. I downloaded a 2560x1600 wallpaper and installed it. However when the device is in vertical position there are black bars on the display (the image is not full screen). When i flip to landscape the wallpapers is fine. Please help why this is happening. I do not have this issues with the stock wallpapers. Do I have to download a different size. Thanks everyone in advance for the help
Try and app called quickpic. It lets you set a wallpaper to your whole screen res. I dont see any black when portriat with it.
Your native resolution isn't 2560 x 1600, it's 1600 x 2560......think about where the home button is on both models and that tells you the 'natural' wallpaper mode for that model.
Wow, just found apk Image 2 Wallpaper. Gives you perfect fit!
The title basically says it all. I was just wondering if anyone knew of any live wallpapers that can trigger the dark ui.
So far the only ones i know about are "Amoled" and "Galaxy", both by the same developer maxelus.net. They're very nice wallpapers with a lot of customization options. So if you guys know of any others please share.

I haven't found any so far. Only the dark Google ones that are in the Wallpaper app trigger it, there's like 5 of them that do it. Any 3rd party live wallpaper I've tried that is dark, does not trigger it.

You should give the ones I mentioned a shot. There's free versions of both, but you gotta be on 8.1 for the dark mode to work though.
The darker wallpapers in tapet trigger the dark theme, but I've found even with just setting an image they have to be very dark before triggering this....
Attached a dark wallpapers generated by tapet, and a fairly dark black and white image that didn't trigger it.
Seems to need a certain amount of black to switch to dark..
*Edit* first screenshot since getting the 2xl, screenshots have square edges behind the round corners....

Is that a live wallpaper or app that displayed all that info on your home screen?
Sent from my [device_name] using XDA-Developers Legacy app
(better) dashclock widget and various add-ons
Hubcaps Wallpaper
This has a dark theme option in the wallpaper settings and you can disable the clock if you want.
on Pixel 4 it included some great wallpaper that automatically went dark when going on dark mode. I've yet to find any
