[Lollipop] Sound mod - Viper4Android [SOLVED]

Hello there,
I already searched but found nothing at all.
Is there any sound mod compatible with stock Lollipop (LRX21P)?
I tried an universal DSPmanager zip found on the N5 forum and the lollipop version of Viper4Android (also found on N5 forums), but with no results (quality/volume/effects don't change with options on/off). I can confirm that they don't work.
Thank you very much for your help, it would be very appreciated (the earphones I bought are too bass oriented and listening music is awful!).

I'm updating this thread because I solved my question. Viper4Android is now working on my stock Lollipop rom (on Flo).
Steps (root and custom recovery needed, update to last version of SuperSU)
1) Download the file linked below (V4A Lollipop "beta" version, taken from N5 thread) - the zip removes MusicFX and DSP if you have them (lucky you, because I hadn't)

2) Change kernel to Permissive using SELinuxModeChanges app from Play Store
3) Install Busybox if you don't have it already
3) Go to developer settings, UNCHECK "Use NuPlayer"
4) Reboot to recovery and flash the V4A file
5) Clear cache
6) Reboot, open the V4A app, install drivers (from up-right menu), then reboot again
7) Set the V4A settings the way you like them*
8) Profit! Disable specific-app EQs in the single apps, and use V4A EQ instead.
Sound is waaaaay waaaaaay better now. Can calibrate sound on my earphones, finally.

tried IRS below to test it out and it worked great back on KitKat
SRS Audio HD [SRS GEQ - Acoustic + SRS TruBass - 50% + SRS Dialog Clarity - 50%]
I finally updated to lolipop, i have V4a working except the IRS file isn't being detected.
Beats Audio for example works just fine, but nothing changes when i go to the SRS irs above.
Any advice? I've posted in nearly every V4a thread i could find and i keep getting told to reach out to maker of IRS file :\

No other audio processors installed
BusyBox on rails installed and ran
Media Player: Power amp.
Prior on Kitkat, i had to install it as a user app, and then use the banned app to move it to system\app in order to get all IRS files to work. IRS files are crucial to me because i use my N7 2013 in dash in my car.
On lolipop, no matter what method i use (whether i install apk, move apk to system\app or flash viper4android zip files), i can get it to process audio under poweramp, but irs files aren't being truly recognized (some are)
Any suggestions?
P.s. - i have been using the following two zips from these threads :

EDit: read the last 3 pages, I will try the APK method on it's own as a user app, will report back.
Edit: installed 4.x apk , installed drivers , set my settings, rebooted, used the "banned" app to move to system app. Convolver IRS files work flawlessly, and i have to set it to compatible mode, but now i have constant popping in audio :\

What version of SELinux Mode Changer are you using?... I had issues getting the latest version (3.01) to work. I went back to SELinux Mode Changer 1.2 and Viper4Android FX v.2.3.4.0 to get it to work on my N7 2013. It does not boost the volume up that much, but it provides better clarity at a higher volume. I'm running Viper on "Stock" LP 5.1.1 rooted.
Edit: Also try testing using a different player and check the Driver Status under Viper.'s setting to check if it's processing.

I used version 2.0.2
It worked fine in changing it (latest one didn't).
Also, it's processing, it's the Convolver and IRS that isn't.

interesting turn of events, i used the lolliviper zip above in the links, and then moved it manually back to user app but left the preinstalled drivers and audiopolicy included in the zip in the system files.
v4a disappeared, okay no biggie, reinstalled the apk from the official site, settings were all there, drivers were already installed from prior installation. Poweramp works, all irs files work, no cracking or popping.
What a complicated route to take to make sure all irs files and poweramp to work, but the audiopolicy is key, i can upload it for those who are interested to decipher for me what i cannot specifically

I wanted to install viper but it needs busy box...
I tried installing it using version 54,53,50 but it doesn't work please help me.. please help me to installing busy box in my XT1643..
Or u can help me by providing me with steps for installing dolby atmos for nougat moto g4 plus xt1643...

Arise Sound Systems, Divine Beats Gaana Edition, Biohazard... all work but need SE Linux to be permissive and Busy Box too. The links are in the OP. Please read the OP of the post before commenting. We can't directly share file links, XDA Rules mate.

Which Busybox did you download, and did you open the app to install Busybox as tywinlannister suggested?
Also, what error are you getting, you didn't mention if the error was with Viper or with Busybox?

No my busy box is working perfectly now...I have driver install failed I/O error...

Try downloading/flashing the Viper4Arise Swansong build from the ARISE thread linked by tywinlannister. It's a big clickable SwanSong™ under the 'Meet the Arise team' section on the opening post. You may also find the main ARISE Google+ page a useful resource (e.g. here's someone else with the same error. https://plus.google.com/111150029808118208419/posts/VP2NjJ6hEYc Have a look through the 20 or so comments and see if there's anything helpful in that - ignore the off topic comments towards the end).
Also, check you've got audio_effects.conf and vendor_audio_effects.conf in /system/etc using a root browser. See this post by the ARISE team on their Google+ page. https://plus.google.com/+JasonPasch5/posts/AYUSSo5mG9t

The issue is probably with Viper not getting Storage permissions. I/O is to do with input and output of data transfer on a peripheral device, which is what makes me think it's that.
See if it has it under Apps > Vioer4Android > Permissions > Storage
It's a wild guess based on logic - could be wrong. Let us know if it works. See if you need to flash another zip. Sometimes that uses to fix issues for me. I always used Viper4Arise not Viper4Android...

Swansong (Viper4Arise)
I have installed SwanSong and the sound is amazing. SwanSong have an aroma interface and it will be easy for you to install it with all the guides inside the installer. Here are the steps I have done to install it (Same as provided by @tywinlannister).
1. Install the BusyBox app and also install BusyBox inside it.
2. Set SELinux to be permissive. (This is important, but you can do it during the installation of SwanSong).
3. Flash Arise Sound Systems zip from the link https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=151719
(Click Aroma & look for ARISE+Deuteronomy+2.94+Modular+AROMA+Installer.zip)
4. Reboot to system.
5. Configure the mods.
6. Reboot again.
This is the recommended setup from the developer itself while flashing SwanSong in Aroma. (Thanks to guitardedhero)
I would recommend Core (mandatory, if not already installed), ViPER4Arise™ 2.5.0.5, Profiles, Arkamys™, ICEsound™, Skip Config and Preset, MusicFX (unless you know it's already installed, this script will leave an existing MusicFX installation intact and end, just in case), permissive (do not, if Enforcing Mode is preferred), Repair SD Card Permissions (allow up to 3-5 minutes of additional time for this script).
Once booted:
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > Arkamys > Enable Phone Permissions
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > ViPER4Arise > Enable Storage Permissions
Open ViPER4Arise™ and select Audiophile™ X profile from the Load Effect Profile option in Menu.
On displayed output tab:
Master Power > Off
Master Power > On
Menu > Device Status
Should show Enabled, Normal, and Processing: Yes (at least during audio playback for some scenarios)
If you want to select ViPER4Arise™ through a media player's Equalizer option (not necessary, recommended for users that prefer to get to ViPER4Arise™ through a media player rather than launch the app from Recents or App Drawer):
Android Settings > Apps > Menu > Show System > MusicFX > Disable
Reboot for good measure.
Hope it will help for you. If anything bad happens, just dirty flash your rom (only wipe cache and dalvik) and everything will be good. :good:
NB: There will be a lot of modules during the aroma installation which you can skip (Toolkit, Dolby Plus, Dolby Atmos etc) if it is not mentioned in the recommended setup. Its your choice. Enjoy a crystal clear sound from the great developers.

Salam and hello everyone, ive edited mixer_paths_mtp from oreo 8.1 and made a magisk module for Dual Speaker SoundMod (vince) [AOSP PIE ONLY] .
read carefully, [AOSP PIE ONLY!!!]
check #2 post for latest AOSP Pie , AOSP Q and Miui11 Pie Vince updates
first flash magisk module.
(if dual speaker not working for you after reboot, proceed manual steps below)
then
paste manually the edited mixer_paths_mtp.xml into root/system/vendor/etc - using root explorer/mixplorer or other file manager
(copy the original mixer_paths_mtp.xml from root/system/vendor/etc to sd card or anywhere you like, rename the edited mixer_paths_mtpMODI.xml to mixer_paths_mtp.xml
then copy and paste it into root/system/vendor/etc. change permissions to 644 (rw- r-- r--), after that reboot your phone.)
try listen to the dual speaker.........
*its working for me, tried on latest PE and Havoc 2.7
*forgot to mention, i also flashed audio modification library too. (download from magisk) if dualspeaker already working for u guys just ignore.
Please try and give me feedback.

For Q, u can use the September 3rd 2019 Pie mixer file below for dual speaker mods.. better use manual method for now, and i didnt test any audio enhancer yet. but can confirm that dual speaker is working...

* just a little guide to make sure your dual speaker working...
-the original mixer file size for aosp pie is 62.48kb, the file ive edited is 63.71kb, so if u see your mixer_paths_mtp.xml in root/system/vendor/etc is 62.48kb apply manual method again and reboot. u need to have the 63.71kb mixer_paths_mtp.xml file in root/system/vendor/etc to make your dual speaker working. hope this will solve your "not working dual speaker issue".

Can confirm it works on PE with DA Kernel and Audio Modification Library and Viper4Android. Really really nice mod. It really improves audio and the speaker is so loud which surprised me.

but there r a few other lines also need to be edited there too for earspeaker.
i put 90 for ear speaker.max is 95 so becareful bro. cant guarantee

ok, just tried ainur sauron.
flashed ainur sauron MK III (27.05)
checked root/system/vendor/lib/soundfx and root/system/vendor/lib64/soundfx
the files installed there.
to make it working need a manager, so i download and flashed Ainur JamesDSP v2.2 .
rebooted, open music, open JAMESDSP Manager. tweak it... and yes, its working.
*ive checked that dual speaker already working before i flash the JAMESDSP manager
*flashed without viperfx/dolby

Its not working in havoc 2.8 there one deference in file name you say mixer_path_mtp.XML in hovec 2.8 have mixer_path.XML I try to rename like havoc but not sound?

doubt regarding Viper4android

I just rooted my phone and installed 5Toos rom with viper4android
But I just installed it and even when I enabled it ...it doesn't show processing....
I enabled master limiter but still the processing shows NO ....
Somebody can you give me a tutorial ????
I searched everywhere but still no help !!!!

Remove whatever you installed completely. If there's an uninstaller, use that. Install the LegacyFX module through Magisk. Just follow the installer prompts, vol + or vol -, for which options you want. (I chose the older version 2.3.) At the end you can choose to make it a system or user app; I chose system. It works fine.

The device has rooted magisk
