Question why can't backup applications in MIUI backup? - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

Hello.
Why is no applications backed up when backing up in miui backup?
What good is such an application if it can't back up any one application?

In Settings>Xiaomi account>Xiaomi Cloud u can make a back up that include all/most of ur apps. It's useful when u flash stock ROM only.

You didn't understand me at all.
I have a stock rom.
When backing up, every application is not backed up, only an exclamation mark appears next to them and that's it.
The backup should be 1.5 gb, but only 34 mb will be saved.

I just showed u another way to do a back up (which will restore most of ur apps) instead using miui backup (which is an app, I guess). If doesn't suit u, no problem Btw, I can do nothing to change what miui backup does, so that's why i suggested another way.

Don't bother with miui app backups, they'll just break everything if you restore them after flashing a ROM.
Use google cloud backups for settings and some app data for restoring stuff after a flash or reset.

Hi, just an additional question: does this MIUI backup works with weekly developer eu ROM ?
Thanks

It doesn't work because Miui is a real s h i t

MyPhoneExplorer works fine backing up apps at once. To restore then we need to restore one by one by using myphoneexplorer "Aplications" or copy the all directory to the phone and then install one by one.

Swish is suppose to do this but I do believe you must be rooted for a full backup

Same here. totally frustrating. Why " Not supported" ?

with xiaomi.eu ROM 12.5.9 the Backup works.
I think higher versions are buggy

Do you know how to Odin back to stock? Follow this thread for it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=853209
Then when you restore, only restore data under advanced restore.
If you used Mybackup root or Titanium you can restore your apps from there, otherwise you should download them again from the market.

I would suggest using this one:
Stock EB13 Deodexed EXT4 + CW 3.0.0.6
Most new ROMs need the newer clock work to flash them.

FROZEN EPIC

How to get boot manager working??

Hi, I'm going mad because I can't get boot manager to work with the roms I want! I want to run virtuous quattro ics beta as my phone rom and smartdroid 3.1 T in slot 1. I've done everything but everytime I install smartdroid to slot 1 it hangs on the HTC white splash screen. I installed blackice and it worked just fine. I have forced large .imgs but it wont work. I think it may work through restoring nandroid but I don't get how I would do that?? Any help would be nice, spent the last 2 days trying to work it
Sent from my Desire HD trying to get boot manager to work -_____- using XDA App
Some ROMs have things in the updater-script that won't work correctly when flashing them to a Boot Manager slot.
What I do is this:
1) Make a nandroid backup of my main ROM.
2) Fully wipe the phone and install the new ROM.
3) Make a nandroid backup of the new ROM.
4) Restore the first backup of my main ROM.
5) Go into Boot Manager and install using the nandroid of the new ROM to one of the slots.
There are also some pre-made nandroid backups in this great thread by SmokeyMcBong. In the last few pages there are also some good tips on how to get around various problems:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1257450
Hope that helps!
So basically I'm on rcmix 4.0 right now and have a nandroid backup already
I should wipe and flash smartdroid
Make a nandroid backup of it through recovery
Restore my backup of rcmix
Go into boot manager and restore nandroid of smatrdroid to one if the slots??
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA Premium App
Yep, that's how I've done it in the past - use the Install Zip option then Restore Nandroid. There's also some stuff in the thread about problems when using wifi and things working better using mobile data.
when u say use the install zip option and restore nandroid....isn't there a seperate option which is restore nandroid?? Shouldn't i do that instead....screenshot attached of what i mean

And i read about data but I'm on pay as you go and not with any contracts so i can't use that much data at once otherwise i will run out of credit

Yep, the screenshot shows the option I mean - it's the restore nandroid option on the install zip menu.

Doesn't the Ion come with a Backup and Restore app from Sony? Every Xperia S has it anyway.. The icon looks a bit like a safe and the app looks like this:

That app does pretty much everything you want. Just backup and do a factory reset. Since the app is in your system, it won't be affected.
Yes, it does come with an app says backup and restore. Didnt know sony has it in there.
Does it back up the app settings as well?
For my other phone, I need to root to backup settings, otherwise it only backup app, then all scores, setting of all apps are lost.
Thanks.
Do you know where are the files are store using this app from sony?
I can not find it in folder.

[Q] Help freeing up Internal Storage (nandroid backups)

I'm currently low on space on my internal storage and I believe the problem is old nandroid backups from back when I used CWM. I now use TWRP and it doesn't see my old backups. Where can I find the backups so that I can delete them?
If all you wanna do is deal with the nandroid backups on your device, I use Nandroid Manager (from Google Play store, its free). It finds the paths where any and all backups on the device may be stored, and lists them for you. You can then go and delete them or browse them if you want...
I've tried that, but it only shows my most recent backup that was made with TWRP. It doesn't show any of my old backups that I made when I was still using CWM

Download Rom Manager in the play store from Clockworkmod and go to Manage and Restore Backups and then delete them.

Use a file browser and go to sdcard-clockworkmod and they should all be there. Cut and paste them to a computer if you need to save them. You can always use titanium back as well as app from above to extract anything you need.
Sorry for the late response, I've been busy with school and just got around to attempting to fix this issue to no avail. I tried reflashing CWM to see if it could see old recoveries but I couldn't see any. I'm beginning to think it's not actually old nandroid files, but something else taking up all the storage instead. I've used diskusage and root explorer to try and find something that was taking up lots of room, but nothing was taking up much space. I don't have many apps, and there's no way the rom should be taking up this much room. This thread over at androidcentral shows other people having the same problem. This is getting pretty bad as I can't update or install any apps.

After doing some digging around in diskusage I finally found the culprit. All of the old recoveries had been moved into /data/lost+found. Deleting the contents fixed all my problems! Hopefully this will help someone else out, it has been driving me crazy.

Backup. Best option for full backup?

Hi,
I want to root my Pixel 2 XL but I obviously want to backup first.
I had an issue with the Google Drive backup on the Pixel when I tried out Android P for a day. After opting out and restoring my phone from the backup, certain texts were missing but also accounts and things that I had added weren't restored. Thing like exchange email accounts and stuff like that.
Now I kind of live on the fence between the Android and iOS world. For years I have always had an iPhone and I still do but recently decided to get a second phone to try and split my work and personal life. Have always like Android but I'm very deep into the Apple eco system. Anyway, decided to get a Pixel. The point really is that coming from iOS I am used to the iCloud backup system which I have to say is amazing. It backs up everything. When you restore its as if nothing even happened. You don't have to check over things and re add stuff etc. So I'm just surprised that Google or Android don't have an equivalent service. I also noticed on Android that the backup menu doesnt even have an option to force a backup. It's all auto which may be fine but for instance when I check the last backup dates and time it will be earlier in the day after I've received a bunch of texts etc. If I can't force a backup then I will lose that data when I restore.
So, what is the absolute best way to fully backup my phone? I am unrooted at the moment but I do want to root hence why I want to back up everything. I would preferably like it to be some kind of cloud backup but as long as it backs up absolutely everything, almost like a complete image then I really don't care.
Thanks in advance.
Damien
have you unlocked your bootloader? if you have you can boot a twrp image which doesn't flash to your system and do a complete backup of your system with that. it wont backup your internal storage(pictures, documents, etc.) but that could be the best option. there is a adb way as well but i have never tried it.
No. I am not rooted. I want to be I want to backup first. Are there any full backup options for unrooted phones?

Under settings, system, backup, you'll see these options. It's as full a backup you get unrooted. I used to be rooted and do Titanium Backup but I've been fine with Google's backup for the last 3 years.
