[Resurrection Remix] [Q&A]- DISCUSSION THREAD

I've created this thread so you can ask all your questions about Resurrection Remix. This way development thread will be cleaner.
I'll do my best to help you with your questions.​

on this rom i cant connect to any wafi network although it is visible on wifi menu
sorry i cant post in dev thread because my post is not enough yet

I downloaded the latest RR version and i still get a notification that there is a new version available. It tells me I'm on 20140323.5.0.6 but there seems to be 20140323.5.0.7 available but i can't download it through the normal post.
By the way, I did a fresh installand still had android.sytem fc on startup. After reboot everything worked fine, just like in last version.
Other than that, great work! Keep it up!

I'm sorry, this was a typo, thanks for reporting. I've made a temporary workaround, tell me if it worked (check if there's an update now).

Yes it worked
For me the quick pulldown is now working correctly and the lockscreen rotation bug is also gone.
Unfortunately the system ui fc after install was still there, so if you might have a look at this one again Anyone else can confirm that the system ui fc is still present?

My phone is a S Advance (janice).
I started learning how to build a ROM with Mahdi. We already have that ROM built by another TeamNova member, but that was my favourite ROM at that moment, I wanted to learn with it. As result, I won't rely on another dev for updates, I could do it by myself.
After succesfully build Mahdi I wanted to make my contribution to the community, but we already had most of the better ROMs. The only missing one was RR because it was giving lot of FC's (force closes) to another developer. I tried to build it and fortunately I fixed the FCs.
I fell in love with RR. I've tried lot of ROMs before and I was sure RR will be my daily one forever.
Then I decided to build it for codina because the devices have things in common (lot of the ROMs here from TeamNova were released first on janice). Just for you, as a gift. I didn't do it for me, I don't have that device (neither my family/friends).
But:
I don't have free time to build it for every device
Not having the phone make it more difficult to fix things
Building it for devices which different hardware than janice will result in a new and different process.
This depend on point 1 and 2.
I do it mostly for me, I really like RR. Obviously I decided to share it with you, but note that sharing it take much more time than simply building it for me. I have to upload, update threads, answer lot of questions.
TL;DR: No, I won't. My reason is explained above (hint: click button).

You can ask ace 2 x devs or just try compiling/porting(for porting, you would want to use a device with close specs)

I've just installed this Rom with LIGHT_GAPPS-RR-KK-4.4.2-20140316-ART.
I'm coming from CM 10.2 by Rox.
After installation I'm getting following message: "com.android.systemui has stopped" serveral times.
I did a full wipe and factory reset and using newest version v5.0.8 [20140402]
What can be the problem?

I don't know what causes it, I've never had that.
But some users reported the same. They said that if you skip installation and then reboot the device it will stop happening (or it will only happen once at boot). Try and report..

I've tried it again (third try), running fine now without any problems so far.

Is overclocking enabled by default? Because max freq is at 1000MHz.

rotation problem
I've just flashed new (cleaned) kernel. Now I have problem with rotation. I've noticed it in facebook app first but it seems to affect other apps too. This bug is already reported in development thread.
Just want to let you know.

I have some trouble of BLN light isnt not on when receiving new message from default Messaging app im installed the lastest RR 20140509 . . . and after playing a game then quit the game the system UI has FC and also after boot . . . please fix . . .
I also have a question does the quick setting button on quick pull down at right corner automatically disabled ? if yes it sometimes hiden completly so i can touch so i must swipe at bottom of quick pull down

It's a CM source problem. Hopefully it will be fixed on RR v.5.1.2

HELP ME! MY NOTE 2 Sound Crack!

Do anyone know how to fix my note 2 that have sound problem. I recently installed CM12.1 and i have downloaded an apps.When i open that apps, it sound crack. Really need help. I can provide video if you want. Thanks. (Sorry for my bad english)

Cm12.1 20151112 unofficial n7100. I did flash 2 times and it's still same. My other phone also have this problem.

try CM13 from Ivan_Meler and see if the issue still exists. I was having that kind of problem, but during call in old KitKat ROMs, but after clean install it was ok, but it happened a few times without the cause

I have same problem on this ROM cm 12.1 Is possible to fix instead of changing ? When I open games soind cracking..

Did you know any other way then changing rom.?

VOLTE is broken

I can't call when using any Custom ROM (over 4G)
But work's fine when i was flashed OOS official & open beta ?
Any solution for this problem ?

Check if custom rom you are using supports VoLTE or not?

Dont make the mistake that just because a device can that it does. VOLTE is not something that is really used in alot of places in the world so no. Most dont even know if it is working or not. Nor do they normally worry about it being broken.

That's not how it works. ROMs doesn't enable VoLTE for other ROMs — VoLTE is a ROM-dependent feature, if the ROM doesn't support it or it's broken in the ROM, then flashing another ROM with working VoLTE won't fix it.
Unless you're referring to baseband firmware, but I very, very highly doubt you're talking about it.

But before flashed Oreo open beta 27 all ROMs are working fine (Jio sim 4g call) with my device.... I'm getting only call disconnect problem while calling from 4g sim :crying:

I'm not sure about the problem since I don't use VoLTE myself, but this could be a firmware issue for all I know. You might want to lurk around the forum and see if anyone else has encountered the issue.

For those who don't know just update your self.
VOLTE IS WORKING ON ALMOST EVERY SINGLE ROM POSTED HERE UNDER OP3/T SECTION.
OP. Just flash the latest firmware after flashing the rom it will work.

Do not listen to this person. They have no idea what they are talking about. VOLTE can easily be disabled or even left out of a rom.

Really can u plz explain why ?
If its working for everyone say on X rom for a particular network then can u tell us why it's not working for OP.

As for why? (which I think is a mistake in translation) but to slim down the rom. VOLTE is not really used outside a few places. So it can slim a rom down to remove a bunch of unneeded code. It happens all the time.
As to why it's not working. Well to be honest. Without a logcat all we can do is guess. Yet not a single person has posted them. I personally don't think it's the roms. I don't use any posted on xda personally but I know the code many use and remember seeing ref to it once or twice. So I'm pretty sure they work.
Just wanted to clear up the fact that roms can disable this.

Did i said its a dev or rom which has anything to do with VoLTE ...Gonread it again and come back.
I clearly said its working (READ VOLTE) on each and every single rom posted under the unified oneplus section. Told him to flash the last firmware for his device.

So you personally tested each and every one of them and double checked the source code to make sure it was enabled?
The dev and rom have a lot to do with it.

Yes have used almost every single ROM for 3t available here on XDA and yes VoLTE did worked for me on every rom, Also why should i have to check the source code of every ROM, if it's working... it's working.

So many times formated & flashed

You need to flash stock nougat oxygen os rom(not open beta) first.. And there confirm if volte icon shows during setup or until you get it working.... Thereafter wipe from recovery and flash any nougat based custom rom you wanted... This worked for me.. Let me know if it works for you...!
P. S. - I was also on Oreo open beta rom before and encountered similar problems....

Hello wonderful people. Just ordered the phone and came immediately to XDA. I don't plan on staying in OxygenOS(or whatever that thing is called).
I'll unlock and root it the moment I touch it. I want to install an Android 8.0/8.1 ROM but which STOCK ROM should I flash before? 4.7.6(8/January2017) or Oreo Beta 1(3/January/2017)? I want everything to work(including fingerprint) with the CUSTOM ROM I will install. I saw some posts mentioning that I need to flash 4.7.5 for the fingerprint to work but I cannot find it, only 4.7.4.
Anything else I should know? I saw many versions of TWRP, like codeworkx, blu, wtf is going on here?

The answers to all your questions are in the forum you posted in.
And you may find you come back to OOS after testing all custom ROMs, as that seems to happen to a lot of people.

My P605 is still on this ROM and working very well until today.
No bugs to my knowledge

Well I don't use camera that often, just for QR-code reading.
btw I prefer OpenCamera to the build in one.
SIM tested and found working when I first installed that ROM, but then removed as needed in another device. Now it's just a bed side device using Wifi.
I'm live in Germany (thought my profile made that clear )
