IN THIS TUTORIAL, I'M GONNA SHOW YOU HOW TO ENABLE GOOGLE ASSISTANT ON NOUGAT ROM.
This method is tested on LineageOS, and supposed to work on any other Nougat roms.
Requirements:
- Rooted device.
- Running Nougat Rom (Android 7.0+)
- Make sure Google App is installed.
Instruction:
- Use any Text Editor with root permission to add these line to /system/build.prop or you can use BuildProp Editor
Code:
# Google Assistant
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
- Download and extract this, copy Velvet folder to /system/priv-app on your device
- Inside /system/priv-app/Velvet, set permission of Velvet.apk file to 0644 (rw-r-r)
- Reboot and clear Google App cache after that.
- Hold home button and set up Google Assistant.

Install the new LG Home apk for oreo and the g8 theme from the playstore by WSTeams. Then go enable the theme. Then to home screen settings and a google feed option should be available.
