I have gifted my old Redmi note 8 Pro to my girlfriend. It works fine in normal day to day with good signal. The problem I have is that when we travel out to our Island cabin the signal there is so lousy that the Redmi note 8 doesn't connect even though my Note 9s does intermittently. I've fitted a signal booster to the cabin which improved my network slightly on Note 9s but the Note 8 Pro doesn't connect.
If I restart the Note 8 Pro it will connect but I don't want to have to do that every time I switch locations.
Is there a setting to force automatic connection to the network regardless of how lousy the signal is?

I have two phones and two lines on T-Mobile. I have an LG G Flex and a Note 3. Has anyone else noticed that the reception on the Note 3 is much worse than many other phones. I can have both next to each other and they both get around -100dbm signal and the G Flex is fast loading pages (I don't get LTE in my apartment ever with my Note 3 but sometimes on my G Flex) and the Note 3 is slow and doesn't load the pages half the time. Wherever I go my G Flex data connection works a LOT better and a lot faster than my Note 3. I've done everything I can to my Note 3 to try and fix the problem (changing settings in Mobile Networks, going back to stock etc..) but the data is just flat out terrible unless I'm in a really strong LTE area. It's not the SIM card because I swapped them from one phone to the other and have the same issue. My Note 3 is on edge half the time in my apartment and my G Flex is always on 4G or LTE sometimes. I also have a friend on Verizon and his Note 3 gets a much worse signal than his wife's G2. When he bought an aluminum case for his Note 3 it cut his signal down so much that he had to take it off. I was thinking of upgrading the Flex to the Note 4 when it comes out, but now I'm having doubts.
Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S10+'s Wifi performs. A higher rating indicates that it has excellent range, throughput, and signal strength. Like when you're taking a dump in the bedroom upstairs, do your videos have to buffer or do they come through without interruption?
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I've noticed a huge upgrade in wifi strength , coming from a Note 9 . So am happy with that regard.
Hi,
Is anyone facing Upload Mode-CP Crash issue on Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Can't believe 2nd unit out of the box is having same issue. I have a dual SIM Exynos SM-G975F variant brought in Oman. 1st unit had this issue, even the 2nd replaced unit has the same issue. Phone freezes with a message Modem Crash!! & goes into Upload Mode. This happens at least 4 to 5 times a day.
Any suggestions.
Thanks,
I switched to S10+ from Mate 20 Pro. Connectivity it is way way better than S10+ and all my previous samsungs ( Note1-4, S2,4,7,8) . All wi fi, gps, 4g, signal in the mountains, etc etc in Huawei is not simply better. Is way way better
But I love more S10+ for everything else : soft, video, speakers, display, etc etc
I have both a note 2 and a note 5 here, as well as an Asus tablet, all of which are able to see and connect to hotspots located in businesses down the street from my home. They also show varying numbers of other neighborhood wifi networks. The S10+ however sees exactly 3 networks. Mine, and my next door neighbors 2.4 and 5 g ssids. That's it.
That said, the connection to my home network holds strong throughout my place, despite it dropping a bar or two in certain areas. Usually see upwards of 800Mbps indicated, and have no issue maxing my 350Mbps wan.
Not bad, but if I'm out and am in the presence of a weak signal, I might not even know it exists. This may actually work to my benefit though, because weak wifi signals really suck.

Maybe I am late to comment here. I have Note 9 for around 7 months and 2 weeks back switched to Galaxy S10+. A major drawback I am seeing with my device (running latest update) is Wifi signal strength which is not as good as Note 9. I used to get very strong reception in the areas around the house (I still have Note 9 and compared them both), but S10+ shows no signal for wifi in those areas. I have a dual band 5Gx and 2.4GHz networks and the strength is better for both bands on Note 9. Not saying it is a big issue, but the signal quality is not as good as Note 9. Does anyone switched from Snapdragon Note 9 experience the same difference?
The worst wifi and Lte signal i have ever encountred....coming from note 9 i thought am upgrading but now i miss my note 9
This phone has very bad WIFI range, + stupid Samsung software which kills low signal networks from even showing in list, you need use 3d party app to connect to them like WIFI analyzer..
Hi all,
I've recently purchased 2x Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro's and I've noticed that the WiFi link speeds are hilariously slow for such a modern phone.
2.4g seems to be limited to a max 72mpbs and 5g is limited to 433mbps. Now, before you say 'it's your router grumblegrumble' it isn't. It's a VMG3925-B10B and its capable of much faster wifi link speeds and I know it is because my older LeEco LEMax 2 got a lot more, so do my laptops, and Ipad. Even my 10 year old Dell 1520 gets faster than 72mbps.
So, now that is out of the way, what on earth is going on? I'm certain that this modern phone must be able of quicker wifi speeds especially considering it's reliant on wifi for connectivity?
I've tried entering the mediatek engineering mode on the phone but can't get into the wifi options (wifi needs to be off, operated too much, constant search on etc) which are all set correct but still doesn't let me in.
Any ideas because this is going to bug the hell out of me. 5G is fine but it's still not acceptable.
Well I have on my router about 36MB/s on 5Ghz.
Redmi Note 8 Pro should also support simultaneously connection on 2,4 and 5 GHz WiFi. But not enabled right now for some reasons.

Unfortunately your speed test doesn't mean squat because it's only testing your broadband connection. Not the WiFi link speed between your device and router.
It doesn't seem like there's any extended bandwidth capabilities?
remi note 8 pro wifi speed problem solved
turn off the bluetooth when using wifi. speed will be fine.

Who was using Bluetooth while using WiFi?
I watch youtube with BT earphones for example, internet is god damned slow, 144p loads for minutes even on 4G... That seems to be a problem of software. Disconnecting BT brings internet back
On a redmi note 8 miui 12 try this: go to settings/location and turn off wifi and bluetooth scanning
Coming from a iPhone XS Max (T-Mobile) to the OnePlus 7T (T-Mobile). My reception is horrible compared to the iPhone. I go to a cemetery by my Dads and when I was using my iPhone the service was spotty at the cemetery but I still had some service. I went today with my new 7T and I couldn't get any service there or for like 5 miles after leaving the cemetery. Has anybody had issues? Does the iPhone get better signal?
im on the reverse of this with verizon. I had the xs max and get better signal with my 7T. Same SIM too.
TMobile here.. I have a 7T and an 11 Max Pro that I swap between regularly (same sim). In places where I know there’s spotty signal (parents summer home in Western PA), the iPhone consistently does a better job at dealing with/recovering from/maintaining a signal.
Hey guys.
Purchased it today, and just like every damn Samsung phone and tablet they still haven't fixed wifi strength signal with even such expensive phone.
So I was out of town and from like 7 wifi signals, only 2 were recognized.
And even when it connects the signal is so weak and it often drops.
Now I'm in my room now and like 3 feet away from router and I'm getting around 6.7 MBps speed instead of between 9-10 just like on my good old S7 edge.
I can't believe.
So is it my phone or others have the same issues?
I have never had a single issue regarding wifi signal strenght, I got my note 10+ since Sept 2019
So I came today in city park, sit on bench and turned ON WiFi on this phone.
Damn,it couldn't find nor any fi..ing single network over WiFi.
I rebooted it like 5 times and then it found one network and barely connected to it with very low signal, but in a matter of minutes it droped.
I had near me,Ulefone 5S which is 200 euros phone and it had better WiFi signal and found at least 5 networks, although with very weak signal, but Samsung couldn't find nor one WiFi network.
Because I purchased used phone ofc I can't return it or RMA it.
Am I the only one with this issue, and how do I resolve it?
But if I'm like in a caffee where is near router the signal is okay, but when I'm outdoors I have this issue, means far away from caffee routers.
Ok I did test outdoors compared with S7 edge.
Do you notice any difference,in terms that N10+ has some issues:
So there is one place in city, where there are lots ofi wifi networks but all of them have weak signal.
So I turned ON the phone and WiFi and it didn't find nor any single network,I turned off wifi on again nothing.
Here is the picture of that issue.
I also can not find what model of wifi card is in my phone,to check if it was replaced,so I'm suspicious about that.
Btw I don't have any wifi issues when I am on local coffee shops/bars nor at home.
Just at places where like wifi signal is weak and like there are many networks at that place.
So what is this issue about.
I just went to my balcony and simply this phone doesn't detect as many networks as some chinese phone,N10+ detected just 8 and chinese phone 13.
Then all of the sudden phone goes crazy in like 5-10 min and detects like 12 network.
And though signal strength is nearly the same between phones,I'm getting even 10 % lost in download when I do speed test and compare 2 phones.
so third video, compared to my tablet and s7 edge.
and I will post pics.
Correct me if I am wrong but on tablet and on the phone on the right yeah I see more network recognized but those have weak signal...
N10+ obviously doesn't list those networks for some reason (with weak/no signal).

As you do clearly see on picture N10+ is screwed up recognizing only one wifi network, and my Ulefone Power 5S many...so what is happening I dunno.
Even S7 edge beats it.
I had the same experience on my black note 10+ (4G black model), it would drop the wifi quite often during video playback while my Mate 30 Pro would just continue on the same network. That improved after I reset the network settings and cleared the system cache. I had/have a far more stable connection after that. As for the speed, the Mate 30 Pro would always achieve higher speeds than the note 10 +, no matter how many times I did the tests on both devices. As for the amount of networks it shows, my current note 10+ ( a 4G model but a white one) does only display 1 network at home while the Mate 30 Pro shows 5 or 6 different networks but all of them with a very weak signal strength. Besides them all being password protected I doubt if the Huawei would be able to connect with any of these so whats the point of showing all these weak networks. Maybe that's the reason the note 10 does not show them? Maybe the are filtered?
Both the black and the white are showing similar behavior, I have them both side by side and both are showing the same (single) network being available.
No problem with wifi with my Note 10+ N975F/DS, Good and stable connections.
I do confirm that in the wifi settings only stronger networks are displayed. When using app like WiFi Analyser I can see that there are more networks detected on the Note 10+ than shown in the wifi settings.
I do observe that wifi speeds on Note 10+ are lower than those provided by my Note 8, comparing/measuring side by side on same wifi network.
But in daily use the Note 10+ has sufficient wifi stability and -speed for my normal use, (matching the speed of my Internet connection of 100Mb) including streaming of HD-Video. I do not play online videogames.
Yep for some reason my Note 10+ doesn't show networks with bad wifi signal, dunno if it's just my model or you experience the same.
But for phone such expensive this is unforgivable.
Look here guys,it does recognize wifi networks with wifi analyzer but doesn't filtrate them so I can connect to them, same happens with my S5e tablet.
That's what I already stated...
You can however connect to wifi-networks detected in WiFi Analyzer (WA) by installing a plug-in (just click on the network in WA, it will prompt you what to install..)

Nothing is happening when I click on network.
