Thanks for bringing this issue to my attention. The kpayloadtimestamperror is basically the anti-rollback protection that stock AOSP recovery has. There is patch for it in the TWRP repos but for some reason OrangeFox doesn't clone those. The OrangeFox version in the Ultima boot image is an older build of mine with the correct patches. I am attaching this new build for you to test if that issue still exists. I am currently not able to test anything due to a broken device.
Hello Emufan. Thank you for all your work. I flashed the OrangeFox recovery through TRWP and it is stuck on the recovery boot. It shows the orange welcome screen but it does not go any further. I installed crdroid version 7.5 last weekend and was hoping to install now this new recovery plus the new 7.6 crdroid rom. The crdroid 7.5 rom still boots normally. Unless you have any idea how to fix this I will try and install TWRP again. Thank you again. This rom Is really cool.

First of all, did this problem appear with the published build on github or with the build I attached above? Secondly do you have adb access in recovery mode? If your phone recognised by adb please run:
Code:
adb pull /tmp/recovery.log .
to fetch the recovery log and upload it here.
I am pretty sure I flashed the orangefox recovery zip from the github site. For the moment adb does not work. Crdroid 7.6 started installing itself on slot A. Previous version was on slot B before. Crdroid 7.6 is not booting and I can't seem to be able to access twrp. I think I need to flash TRWP again and then I will try and flash the orange fox zip you put on this thread and eventually post here the log. I imagine this is going to take a while. ^^
I managed to get the OrangeFox recovery and CRdroid 7.6 working. So far so good. But I have the same problem I had before. This strange slot A slot B configuration. Crdroid apparently installs on the other slot, different then the one that is set. I had it set for slot A and now it installed the rom on slot B. I did it last time but at this moment I am not able to change slots. And now I can not install Nikgapps because I installed OrangeFOx recovery on A and Crdroid is on B. With last install, TWRP+crdroid 7.5 I fixed this by installing the recovery on both slots. Should I flash the orange fox recovery on slot B? How can I do that? Is the recovery file still useful to you? I can't seem to get adb to work. Has the recovery file disappeared with the wipes I did?
After some back and forth. The recovery is working. After installing CRdroid I did a wipe and somehow I removed the boot recovery partition. I could restore it using flashboot flash boot_a twrp.img or something like this.
Don't forget to install the OrangeFox version that is on this thread and not the one that is on github.
THanks again.

It seems that the TWRP kernel doesn't provide that interface. The best thing to do is to extract recovery.img from the OrangeFox zip, flash that as an image with TWRP, boot it, and then use it to flash the OrangeFox zip.

Excellent! Let me know how you find it. It was a bit of a labour of love to provide official support for our RN2.
hi~
Can I just extrat the .img file and flash it through fastboot?
Which one should I download, the 9.0a version @sourceforg or the one from orangefox.tech? They are different in size.

Yes, you can extract the img and flash it. But in order to have access to all the features, you need to flash the zip. Download from sourceforge.

This is hardly helpful information. You need to explain exactly what you you did, step-by-step, and exactly what was the outcome of each step. There is absolutely no reason why you should have experienced any problem.

Thanks^^
In my 16GB model, when I did a recovery through TWRP, I had a bootloop problem.
However, this 'OrangeFox Recovery' does not cause this issue.
And, SD card with 'exFAT' format is recognized as normal.
Thank you very much.
Days of stress were relieved at once.

* Flashlight: strangely enough, the sysfs nodes aren't responding.
* Backup of /data: sometimes will fail because of the decryption failing resulting in stupid long filenames which the recovery can't deal with.

Realme 3 & REALME 3i File - Google Drive
drive.google.com
Twrp didn't install , so I tried this, it did install on Android 10 v.c.17 , flashed this recovery with flashify app, ... These r the things I found out.
After flashing recovery , you may reboot to recovery, after rebooting you will get small message in downleft corner recovery mode , after that the screen will turn off, if wait to see what happens next after a long time realme will reboot to system & recovery is spitted out returning to default stock recovery.
To avoid stock recovery Press volume - button as soon as you see blank screen after recovery mode message. Press for 55+ seconds, then orange fox logo appeared, you cannot use touch for some 35 seconds after that recovery is usable,
And only read only mode is available so no backup can be made with this recovery , but all other options are access abke & maybe they work too..
Fix the above mentioned bugs & this unofficial recovery may become official. This recovery works, but also gives a scare.
I think the files part is confusing,(1)
(2) storage mounted as read only
(3) screen time out leads to a black hole, so you have to reboot.
Orangefox unofficial & Skyhawk unofficial both works on realme 3 on Android 10, but are set to readonly, backup are not possible now, future releases may fix this bug..
@mochi_wwww can fix the bugs and post new updated recovery??

Hi,
installed OrangeFox [email protected]_0 on my Radmin Note 9S (Global Version - Curtana)
But every time I install a custom Rom and reboot, it boot to recovery.
(I tried Fluid-1.2 and crDroid 7.3)
I have the same problem with TWRP.
If I install an official Firmware (like miui_CURTANAGlobal_V12.0.1.0.RJWMIXM_e29d7b7c84_11.0), and reboot, it successfully boot into MIUI.
What I'm missing ?
Thanks for any help.

But I need to confirm.
Thanks for your hard work.

Hello there, I have a Joyeuse and I don't have to format anything, you can actually switch recoveries at any time. And to answer your question yes go to TWRP and flash OrangeFox.

Your Current Recovery's Issue.
Flash the .img File and then Flash the ZIP From OrangeFox.
Thank you so much ! Been using this since a while and it's far ahead in terms of functionality from the other recoveries available. Hopefully we'll have newer ROMs to flash with OFRP since it makes the process so painless
Finally some good stable recovery
Thank you for the software! I installed it without any problems, I'm testing it.
The download link only takes me to the telegram support group. Where can I download it?
What are the chances that this Nord recovery will work on a brand new just released Nord CE 5G?
OP, kindly check your Conversation message. Thanks.
The Thread is Back Now!
Links are Updated!
Are things like backup and restore working?
Is android 11 supported?
I have had issues using this recovery each time I install a new ROM, I just get bootloops. Current install process is as follows:
1. Wipe Data and Cache
2. Install ROM of choice
3. Bootloop
Do I need to remove encryption? I presume the Rom is installed to the correct partition each time.

Majority of the custom roms (A11) aren't still supported by installing through recovery, they have their own recovery from which you should adb sideload. This, I assume, is a work that should be done by the rom developer to support flashing through custom recoveries (like orangefox), nothing much can be done by the devs of the recovery. I can be wrong here, please do correct me if i'm wrong here but this is what I feel.

I think you can Sideload from OrangeFox too.
And, I think you should Format data too.
This Seems an A/B Issue with Dynamic Partitions.

wow
amazing job! works perfectly on my poco m3.
Nice. working properly. love this
This might be the best recovery to use on juice unified devices
Good custom recovery it works now for my other devices that has different panel .
worked perfectly on poco m3
Does flashing stock rom using mi flasher revert the recovery to stock as well?
My poco has dead boot issue and I'm afraid it may not wake up again if I reboot to recovery to check this.
Any help is appreciated.
i did as per the steps (via fastboot) and it got installed but the next time i tried to load in to orangefox, it opened to the default recovery menu and orangefox isnt there anymore. help.

after watching some vidoes, i found that you need to disable dmverity as well (for me atleast) and it works like a charm. i will leave the file but try at you own risk (and dont blame me).
My first time using Orangefox, really liking it! Oh and thanks for the file @bubble_wrap

when i wiped the data, cache, dalvik/art cache, metadata using orangefox to first install 12.5 miui for my lime device, it didnt install and got stuck in a bootloop on the "redmi powered by android" screen. I couldnt remember what the specific error was (it said something like "there is no operating system" while trying to flash 12.5 miui in orangefox) because i was too freaked out for messing it up. can someone tell me what my mistake was.
i did get my phone working after some tense searching on youtube for the fix. I will link the video that saved my life (linking it doesnt work idk why).
search on youtube
"How To Fix Redmi Hard Brick | Fix Redmi BootLoop | Fix Redmi Restart again and Again | stuck mi logo" on a video by Digital choco

I'm still getting acquainted with this device but metadata? I don't think that's supposed to be wiped. Is that in an instruction somewhere?
Can you make this available for Redmi Note 9T (5G)?
Hi. A question. How do I backup to my PC? I want to backup the Internal Storage, but my SD Card doesn't have enough storage. I see tutorials on how to do it with TWRP using ADB, but I don't know how to do it with OrangeFox.
does encription work in this recovery
