hi, did anyone encountered this problem? every ROM i have tried including stock MIUI had this problem and right now the only solution for me is to turn off the screen.
even my 3 year old Essential Phone never had that..
Yeah it happens to my Redmi note 8 pro too, I think it's just a problem with the proximity sensor with very little bezel the proximity is compromised.

Me too. What rom you have. EEA stable?
It's an ongoing issue affecting my Xiaomi devices.

Xiaomi has officially recognized the issue, let's hope it gets fixed in future MIUI 12.5 updates.

right now i'm on crDroid, but it also happend on EEA 12.0.5.0
Nemix77 thank you for that information, i really hope that the dev community can fix that, i don't really trust Xiaomi with that, they are horrible when it comes to anything related to software.
Any news from anyone ?
12.5.1 EEA did not fix the problem.
It's a beautiful device, but making calls should be its first function... I'm getting tired of muting or putting people on hold by mistake (display lights up, ear touch the screen...) during every call.
Should we all report using feedback app ? I did it a few weeks ago, got an answer asking for logs, but since it was at this moment that MIUI team aknowledge the problem and promised a fi, I did not give any follow up.
It's pretty fine on xiaomi.eu rom, 12.5.3 miui. When I was on global 12.0.5 it was horrible, I was muting the mic alot, changed to xiaomi.eu and seems way better.

i have updated the firmware to 12.5.1.0 EEA and it works better than 12.0.5 for me , maybe 12.5.3 will be even better.

Im facing this bug on Xiaomi.EU, and i thought it was an isolated problem of this ROM. Interesting.

It has been there for a long time and no update is fixing it. It really bugs me off.
Is there any solution to this issue?
Ah so I'm not the only one to have it ?. Well someone in another forum told me that it's an issue caused by Google assistant and disabling it I should have fix it but I did it and the situation was the same. It's 3 weeks that I'm waiting for a weekly update that could fix it but nothing...
I'm sending continuous feedback through the Mi community hoping that one of these weeks it will be fixed
TEMP SOLUTION
Find the solution. Delete cache and data of Google app and disable the access to the microphone.
i turn on microphone back to on, and whatsapp voice note still working.
PS: Same problem 8.8.17
I'm facing the same problem with 8.8.16..
Sometimes audio are good but other times no
It's really annoying
I reported this on the Miui forum a few weeks ago. They stamped the topic with ( awaiting confirmation) or something.
Today I saw an other bug report opened about the same topic,
http://en.miui.com/thread-3555184-1-1.html
Please add your comment also there

Is anyone using the Global ROM 10.3.4 having an issue with the vibration too?
It just stopped working for me, it's mostly used for texts and alarms.
I even did the CIT test for the vibration motor and it just doesn't work.
For me this works normally.
You can try update to 10.3.5. but, I have my questions if is a problem with software. I think it is a hardware...
Good luck.

I already figured out that it's a hardware issue since downgrading didn't fix it.
Hi there.
IS anyone else experiencing AOD not showing incoming calls? My phone rings, but the AOD doesn't change...so I have to tap somewhere to wake up screen, and then I can answer a call.
Anyone found a fix for this?
Same problem here with the Poco F2 Pro on MIUI 12.5.1
@Medomish did you found any fix for this? I've been facing this problem since the previous version, and the update didn't fix it.
I'm pretty upset with it.

No, still occasionally not waking up to an incoming call. Often it wakes up but with 2-3 seconds delay. Annoying, very annoying. I can see who is calling me on my Garmin watch, and then I wait to be able to answer it. Hope for a soon fix.
I've done this procedure 3 days ago, and since then I haven't faced any problem.
Give it a try! Maybe it will fix for you too

Maybe the screen protector quality is not good and you're facing this issue. I also faced this issue and I was fed up and removed the screen protector. My friend suggested a Gadgetshieldz protector which is better because after applying this screen protector I didn't face the issue again.

No, I dont think its the screen protector.
Today I had the exact same problem that you are showing in the video.
But not only on the middle of the screen. I also had this problem in the lower right corner of the screen when trying to send a whatsapp audio message. I could not hold down the record button. It always canceled the recording... Very annoying!
I installed a touchscreen test app from the playstore and it clearly showed that the screen has issues!
I already wanted to send it back to the shop where I bought it.
But then I thought about restarting the device...
And it worked!!
All touchscreen problems disappeared after restart!
Very strange. I googled the topic and we dont seem to be the only users which have these kind of screen problems. Looks like a lot of different Xiaomi devices have screen issues...
I hope the problem does not come back.
Did you try to restart already?
Did it solve your issue?
My Redmi note 10 pro has a similar issue with the scrolling.
I restarted the phone and it seemed to resolve it. I also noticed the phone was heating up more than usual when performing normal things like browsing and FB.
I felt the volatile memory may have gotten congested.

I hope its only a software problem.
Which software version have you installed on your Redmi Note 10 Pro?
My Mi 11 Lite 4G has:
MIUI-Version 12.5.5.0
Android version 11 RKQ1.200826.002
I never had these problems on my Mi 9 Lite. (MIUI 12.0.10 and Andriod 10)

one day it was solved automatically. Mi 11 lite display is the worst quality.
The problem of Black Crush still remains. They claim that it is a 10-bit display panel, but have never seen such poor quality AMOLED displays.

I've used the AOD since April without any issues, but after updating to 12.5.6 the time randomly stops and the display stops repositioning the clock. The time never seems to be more than an hour off even overnight.
I'm using the stock global ROM and it's not rooted. I can't find any new or related settings and tried switching from Balanced to Performance battery mode, but it still happens. Anyone know what's causing the problem?

Hello
I have the same problem with the update from 12.5.3 to 12.5.6 on my Poco F3, i have already report this issue in this forum, but until now, no solution! I made the update with 466MB by OTA, after that I made a hard reset and instal the all ROM 12.5.6, but the problem continues. I don't have any other problem but this is anoiing.
Agreed, I use AOD for notifications and I also don't want burn in. I already loose some app functionality to unavoidable aggressive battery management even when "No restrictions" is set so I hope that's not also to blame here.
The AOD app version is 2.9.752-07052042 and has no battery management options just like other system apps. I hope there is an app fix and we don't have to wait for a MIUI update.
