I have a problem with Gmail not syncing properly.
From time to time, it will stop notifying me of new emails.
When going in the app, the mails will come in, without the need to swipe down to refresh.
It has been a couple of days like this now...
Pretty annoying.
And to state the obvious...
Yes, I have enabled syncing.
And YES battery optimization for Gmail is disabled...
Not even the intelligent thingy.
Anybody had the same?
Any ideas?
Have read al lot of topics about it, but no clear solutions...
To my knowledge, Gmail has been having these issues for at least a few weeks now, it's not only you.

Had the issue all last week (Ireland). The last 2 days it's working fine. No changes made to phone.
Mmm, strange.
My girlfriend does not have any issues on her old Oneplus 5.

Same as that, the Mrs has OnePlus 5 and no issues at all with Gmail notifications.

Don't want to do that every reboot...
No changes are needed, it is working off and on for people randomly. It stopped working for me for 4 days, then 2 days ago was fine again.
I've done manual syncing for a long time.
Sick of unreliable busy things running around in the background.
For the last couple months I've kept Google play Services* disabled unless I sync Gmail, I rarely use Gmaps or Playstore so I don't care.
My stock Note 10+'s battery usage is down to >7% an hour SOT using the Brave browser constantly. That means not only less charging but less strain on the battery out of the gate. I don't consider Google to be a trusted vendor so limiting it's access is a good thing.
*keeps Find my Device from autostarting it's bloody self as well.
I've had this issue with Android for quite some time now. With my S21 Ultra, all I had to do was disable doze with adb commands and never restart my phone. It was so nice getting email notifications at the same time as my iPhone.
I thought I could do the same with the OP9 Pro, but this isn't the case. I too have turned optimisation off, turned doze off, and keep the app open in the background - to no avail.
It's so sad to receive a notification on my iPhone that is fairly important to my business, only to get it anywhere between 10 minutes to several hours later on what is supposed to be my business cell. I'm unfortunately outside of the return window with the phone, otherwise this frustration would've lead me to another iPhone.
So insanely frustrating. I don't think I'll be carrying an Android phone much longer if this persists and the iPhone 13 is as good as I'm hoping it is.
I removed universal gms magisk module and somehow it worked again

Activate Developer options>Standby apps, all buckets should show as active, if not power management is active!
Power management will cause erratic behavior.
You need to be up to speed to use an Android effectively.

So many people (including me) already mentioned this issue with Gmail notifications. It is definitely a bug and OnePlus is aware about it. Not sure when it will be corrected...
Waiting for an update, I recommend to use "Spark" app which is working good for all my mailboxes.

The beautiful thing about Android is there's almost always a 3rd party work around.
You're not locked in.
Glitches aren't uncommon, but most are small ones. Finding work arounds is a part of Android ownership... use it's flexibility to your advantage.
I thought I was the only one who had this problem.
a reboot fixes it for me for a couple of days, then its back to not showing any notifications.

A reboot a day seems reasonable...
Maybe 11.2.6.6 update fixed this problem, I don't have the problem for now.

well, first of all, I must admit that owning OP3 is one great experience. hardware is great and software feels so complete, that I have almost no need to root and/or install custom ROM. that being said, I'm still running stock OOS 3.1.2, as I can wait for better RAM handling and changing color balance slider to right-most position worked good enough for me regarding color balance.
but, I have a little issue with Doze:
I regularly have missed notifications, and some of them should really be high-priority and go through even in Doze.
basic example would be Viber call coming in. I could understand that Viber message is not reported immediately, but call should wake up device for sure.
I have used couple of other devices with Marshmallow before (Samsung with CM13 and Moto G3 with stock ROM), and neither of them had any issues with missed Viber calls nor messages.
now I put my phone on a table once I enter the office, or I just leave it once I'm at home, and I can be sure I'll have couple of missed Viber calls when I pick it up couple of hours later. that's not meant to be like that!
I know that I can exclude Viber from "Battery optimization", but I would not like to let Viber be completely and always active - I need just high-prio notifications.
also, I did not have to make any manual exceptions on CM13 and Motorola.
so, anyone else experiencing similar missed important notifications?
how did you handle this issue?
will some of upcoming OOS updates (3.1.3 or 3.1.4) address this issue?

Its a known issue with Oneplus 3 / Oxygen OS. There is a big thread @ https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/push-notification-issues.451149
You can disable Doze with this adb command to get your push notifications working . It won't survive a reboot, hence the command needs to be issued after every reboot.

I just installed OxygenOS 3.2.0.
It says in the description "Fixes some notification issues" and it seems to work now properly (at least for WhatsApp).

WhatsApp definitely had issues before the update. Some notifications came 10-15 minutes late. Now it seems to be working fine.
On OOS 3.1.3 I was experiencing delayed gmail notifications. Tried to change battery settings to exclude gmail from dozing without any success.
But then I cleared data for gmail (settings > apps > gmail > storage > clear data), forcing it to setup from scratch. And voilá, since then I am always getting my gmail notifications on time!
Just upgraded to OOS 3.2.0 and my gmail notifications still work as expected. I don't use Viber or WhatsApp, so I can't tell if clearing data would do the trick for them too.

It is not excluded from battery optimization, i.e. it work like it should: gmail sleeps in doze, but notifications are not delayed!

Unfortunately my gmail notifs stopped. Let the phone lay still and flat on desk for a while and sent a mail from my desktop. No notification on phone until I turn on the screen. :crying:
Tried to clear data again, but this didn't help.
Go to settings - battery. Tap the hamburger menu. Select battery optimization. Check if WhatsApp is mentioned in the list of NOT optimized apps. If it is not, add it together with any other app you wish to continue running during doze.

well, the test needs to be done just as you said. maybe some people are testing without giving the phone enough screen-off time. I will try and see what happens, since I am facing this issue both pre and after last update
EDIT cant find the option to clear data in Settings / Apps / Gmail

I don't have issue with viber. Go to battery optimisation and remove viber from the list .

Disable Doze
You can try to disable doze with the app called "Disable Doze" :good: in the Play Store, which prevents doze completely without root. I had problems with mail notifications which could not be solved by disabling battery optimizations. With the app it is solved now!
No need for this. On 3.2.6 you can turn off doze in the settings.

I'm becoming increasingly frustrated with my Note 7 (recall replacement one).
1. It lags like HELL! I've done all the animation scaling off/force GPU rendering etc, but I shouldn't have to. Just a simple thing like pulling down the notification bar noticeably lags every couple of times.
2. I use Android Auto, which I always have to reconnect manually to use (never did on the S7).
3. When listening to Spotify over Android Auto, I occasionally get stutter/glitches in the sound. Once the glitch was so bad the phone froze and it had to be reset.
4. The thing gets hot. Annoyingly hot, even if I'm just browsing Chrome, or reading G-mail etc. It's not like I'm gaming!!
5. WiFi is very sporadic. The connection is rock solid, but often it will be downloading an app...sit at 100% of download and progress no further. This happens quite frequently.
With all the above, (bar number 2), none of it applied to the pre-recalled Note 7.
I'm frustrated to say the least. Does anyone else get any of this whatsoever? I can't go through not having a phone again, or sending this for what Samsung will insist on a repair. This phone is jinxed and I'm gutted.
Any suggestions (bar a hard reset haha) will be greatly received.
PS. I have disabled loads of apps with the AppDisabler to try and help it along but I think there's an issue with the RAM or some of the internal modules (at a guess). Thanks all
I have just managed to reduce the lag quite a bit by uninstalling Samsung Good Lock (which was forced upon me earlier today)! I liked it, but serious lag creation!
Did you use Smart Switch to change phones? I've found quite a few apps don't like to be transferred. Android Auto apps don't move right via Smart Switch and I had to uninstall/reinstall them.
Be careful what you disable. Some of Samsung's seemingly benign system apps are called by other apps and if they don't respond are constantly polled. That could cause a lot of background processes and may be a source of your overheating. My pre-exchange phone did what you're describing the first couple of days after I set it up. It would maybe once or twice a day get blocky when scrolling as if something was running in the background. The (U.S.) PH1 update made it go away. But we're S-820 in the U.S. and I think you guys are Exynos. So different problems different solutions.

The apps were downloading but strangely, every so often nothing was happening after they'd reached 100% downloaded, just before "installing..." (over WiFi). I cancelled that specific app and the restore continued (this happened over and over). Turning WiFi on and off sorted it temporarily but I couldn't download more than 3/4 without this really strange issue.
I also observed the longest lag ever! I went into the OS update screen, pressed update and the device didn't respond. 5 mins later while doing something completely different, the update screen popped up about 12 times (as I'd pressed it 12 times 5 mins previously). This happened again after a reboot too!
Now, I've just bitten the bullet and performed a hard reset. This time the WiFi seems great, although now I'm speculating that it was getting stuck at 100% post download perhaps because the security thing was having trouble scanning it for malware prior to install.
I also take your note re:disabling stuff! I'm going to do something unheard of and just try it stock for a bit and see how it goes. For such amazing hardware, the fact my note 3 was running 10 times smoother means something drastic is going on. I hope this hard reset is the end of it!
Chances are the hard reset won't do anything, though I hope you have better luck than I did. I went through three phones (on my 4th). I did the hard reset as soon as I picked up the 2nd handset and onward before I did anything with the phone. Sadly you should not have to disable anything, the phone should just work for 900.00. Some will say otherwise.. Wi-FI is good for me but the reception is garbage. On various phones with T-MO including other android devices that colleagues have - they get 4/5 bars and usually double the download speed on Speedtest. The head I had on the first I don't get as bad on this one. But the lag I do...

I just picked up my replacement Sprint Note7 today so not much time with it though seems identical except 1 small issue. I had my first Note 7 rooted, Viper4Android and Dolby Atmos flashed along with Xposed and it worked flawlessly. The replacement Note fails with binary invalid using the exact same odin version, Sun7 systemless root etc that I have on my pc from the first Note 7 and the second Note 7 was given to me not updated, in other words its on the exact same firmware as the first one!
I am very proficient with rooting, adb, etc and this has me baffled.
Has anyone successfully rooted a replacement N930p that came with PH9? using freeza's guide?

Yea disabling seems like a great idea at first but it actually creates problems. I run it completely as is except uninstalling the preloaded games. Didnt disable anything. Disabling stuff caused massive lag on my note 5 and same with note 7.

I've gotta say, the hard reset has made the world of difference. Which to me is strange, I've never had to hard reset a new device, but it's done the trick.
Regarding the disabling of services, there must be *some* that are safe to disable? I agree if you're tinkering with potentially integral things like S-Voice it's not a good idea. But then stuff like OneDrive surely that's okay? Maybe, things like the Disabler package are a bad plan. You can disable software by default without it, but only certain apps. Maybe that's why Samsung prevent the disabling of certain bloat...?

I only disable the useless apps, such as all the Microsoft bloat (OneDrive, Excel, Word, etc), Facebook (and all its services), and any Carrier bloat.

That's cool. I have no interest in Gear VR.
I have heard somethings about latest version of chrome causing batt drain, could possibly contribute to lag also, I cant tell much as I am expecting my note 7 exchange, but I have seen some posting about it
Have no problems when I used package disabler and chose "disable all bloat"...but after doing that, I looked through the list and enabled around 3 to 5 that I thought didn't need disabling.
No problems since.
Oh...that option doesn't disable facebook, messenger, hangouts etc. So if you don't use those, you need to add them.
Thanks all. Well, after all that, and a hard reset my phone is running perfectly again. Then, this morning I received this from Oculus...
"We recently pushed an Oculus Software update that has inadvertently caused some people to experience phone performance issues."
I haven't put my phone into my Gear VR since the hard reset and I can almost guarantee it was that blimmin thing. Samsung have also updated their Good Lock app to remove lag yesterday!

Oh..and strangely, the first few hours I got the phone..it got pretty hot...especially since I was using it while charging. I turned off fast charging and no difference. Anyways I just cooled it down w the aircon now and then.
Long story short, it doesn't get hot anymore.
Maybe it's because I used package disabler snd greenify...but whatever I do...Even while charging..it barely gets warm...

Yea they always get very hot for the first few hours while installing all the new apps! I'm not sure you need Greenify these days do you, since android tends to close apps that are not in use (giving you the same options as Greenify)?

This. I just spent two days doing that and its like a totally different phone. I started a thread highlighting my experiences.
i am quite annnoyed with the lag too. it's nothing too bad, but there's noticeable keyboard lag, and whenever you go into settings to search for something, it takes like two seconds to load. i don't even think this is a case by case situation here, this phone just isn't as fast as a oneplus 3, lg g5 or iphone 7 plus. again, it's not terrible, it's just not the fastest or smoothest.

Just got a new PixelXL and am having issues with notifications from the gmail app. During the day, the alerts seem fine. But during the middle of the night, they are hit and miss. I need them to wake me up for emergency alerts, and I'm finding that at some hours they go off without issue, but other times they don't.
For example, this morning it went off at 4am with no issue. At 8am I woke up, looked at my phone and had 0 alerts. However, after waking my screen and then shutting it off, I suddenly got alerts. I had missed 6 alerts between 6:45am and 7:45am, that never pushed in to my phone at all.
I've been searching for answers and found info about battery optimization, however my phone is set to not use battery optimization so that is not the issue. Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Welcome to the Pixel/Nexus world. I'm sorry to tell you that this has been an ongoing issue on Nexus 6, 5X, 6P, and now the Pixel and XL for at least two years. Google used to have a help thread on it, but they closed it early this year as "solved", even though it's clearly not. There are some things folks do, like disable battery optimization for gmail, but realistically I can tell you that doesn't really help. FWIW, there's no known solution....
Are these from specific sender's? Set up a Gmail rule to forward it to one of the free email to text services and text them to yourself.

FWIW, when my device(s) start delayed notifications, it doesn't matter who the sender is. My Nexus 6 did it (sporadically) for 2 years and now my Pixel XL does it, too. As the OP noted, it's usually later in the afternoon/early evening....

I can't even get XDA notifications consistently lol. If you quote this message and reply back to me I'll probably get the Gmail notification sometime in the first hour and the XDA app notification anywhere within 10 min to 3 hours haha. All apps have battery optimization off. Such a joke

Yes!! Same here. Sometimes they get lost in space I guess. So annoying. Anyways.. I got the Gmail notification from your reply at 3:40 EST. Still no XDA notification though.
I know there is a notification issue with almost every app but I'm curious if the issue is half the fault of android and half the fault of the XDA app. I've been having lots of issues with it on the Pixel that I never had even once on my GS5.
For example for the past 2 nights I've been having conversations in 2 or 3 threads with people where we were posting responses maybe once every 5 min. So pretty much a non stop conversation. I kept having this issue where I would post my reply and get the message saying it was posted but yet I didn't see it in the thread. I'd refresh and it still wasn't there. I'd close the app. Still not there. If I logged into the website via chrome it was there right away. This has happened ever day since I've had the phone. I've obv cleared cache/data for the app which did nothing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Also did flashed factory image 3 times and set up as new for other reasons but even that didn't correct the issues with this app. Other random things happened to. I was trying to post 2 pictures last night. It only showed one of them. I went back to edit the post and it showed the filenames of both but I couldn't remove them. Logged into the website in chrome and remade the post. So pretty much there are just random VERY annoying issues with this app and this phone.
Is this an Android issue with all phones (Samsung, HTC, etc) or just Pixel/Nexus phones? I have the same issue with notifications.

Looks like it's happening on other phones too. In the link posted above, I saw Galaxy S5 and HTC One M9 listed.
Happened on my 5X, returned that and got a 6P and it happened on that as well. I had to use Nine for my work email it was so bad. So now it randomly happens work my hotmail and gmail addresses in the Gmail app, it's really unbelievable.
The delay in syncing has been irrational for me, but appears to be based on how long since the phone was last used.
I am trying out a different mail app, BlueMail [Play Store][Free], to see if that syncs quicker.

For me its in the morning... But morning for me is 12:00 Noon. But I note it alot on 7.1.1 but not so much on 7.1.0.

This is why I think it has to do with "Doze" or whatever the deep sleep is in 7.1.1. But what is odd is that its beeing noted on 6.x devices as well and I never had an issue there. Might have to switch to my N6 and test it out.

With my phone sitting idle for over thirty minutes, I sent myself an email to the account on my Pixel from another account.
Bluemail notified me immediately, Gmail app never did, despite saying it last synced three minutes later.

My Type/Blue mail email app gets laggy with the notifications when my phone has been off more than a couple hours.
It was all good with Lollipop.
Then got laggy with Marshmallow and continues with Nougat.
Been like this on a few different phones.
Ever since that stupid Doze was implemented, or whatever it's called that comes with Android to sleep apps.
And yes, I do remove it from Battery Optimization.
I have like five different email vendors (yahoo, google, etc).
Never bothered to see if it was happening with all or just one of them.
I just know I'd wake up in the AM.
See no new messages.
Then pick up my phone and five minutes later I get a bunch of new message notifications.
Since I'm sleeping, it hasn't been a huge enough issue for me to investigate.
But I will say that I miss the non-doze with Lollipop + Greenify.
Then again, I get stupendous battery life nowadays.

I've seen the same thing on several phones for the past year or more. I've noticed it on gmail, inbox and hangouts. I think it's the low power state the system gets in after a while, like at night as you said. When deep sleep gets to 96-97%, the phone is next to powered off, hence the good battery life. Only a guess though. I would still like to be notified, that's why I have notifications on. Maybe a kernel tweak to keep the phone out of deep sleep would help, but would hit the battery life. Maybe a very low minimum cpu setting would help. Like you said, it's not that big of a deal for me. Most of my family uses hangouts so I was more concerned about missing messages than emails but most of them come as they should. Nothing's perfect, I'm pretty happy with android and the pixel and the folks here that share what they know with everyone.
To be honest it's a complete joke that there is such a big issues with this and they can't figure out simple notifications. I've never had even the slightest issue like this on any of my past phones. The worst part is that it's not even consistent and there is no pattern to when they come. Just completely random.
First off, I disabled adaptive battery in Android P. Ever since the upgrade from 8 to 9, I noticed that notifications are right around 5 minutes late. I have a couple time-sensitive apps that I need notifications right away. Gmail and another app for my home automation. In Android 8, the were flawless. However, ever since going to 9, not so much.
I also noticed that when I delete messages in the gmail app for gmail and an IMAP email server I have it does nothing with the messages on the server. I login to webmail from a computer and the messages are still in the Inbox.
Anyone have any ideas? I am going to try a wipe again to see if it resolves the issues, but I am out of ideas. I had the above issues in Android 9 beta as well. I would downgrade and it fixed them.
I have the same thing and it turns out it is a common issue with Pie. I have not found a solution yet. I have read all kinds of things people have tried and nothing seems to help. Sorry that I can't be more positive. Hopefully Google will figure something out and fix in an update.

My thought is that the delayed notifications are due to Android Pies implementation of adaptive battery. Maybe try excluding the apps you want to receive notifications from in a timely manner?

You don't happen to have data saver in the quick tiles turned on by accident do you? That does prevent notifications from getting pushed. Both my parents had this on and a bunch of notifications came through after turning it off. I made sure to remove it from even being an available option.

been fighting with this issue as well, but it only seems to be gmail, and a couple other apps, my sms notifications seem to come through fine, at least as far as I can tell. I've turned off adaptive battery etc, nothing seems to make a difference. sometimes i can turn my screen on and all the notifications will come flooding in, other times they come through 10ish min later.

Made sure it was off early on. No change.
The best way to describe my issue is that once the screen times out and has been off for at least about 5 minutes, notification sounds are delayed. It is sort of like the phone goes into a deeper sleep or something and then the problem arises. As soon as I use my fingerprint to wake the phone, all notifications blast through.
The delay can vary. Sometimes it is only 15 minutes or so, but often it is much longer. It is almost like once in a while an app wants to call home or something and to do so wakes up the phone just enough to allow some notifications through.
There also seem to be some issues with individual apps and notifications that may be fixed when a developer updates their app for Pie. For example, most apps notify immediately when the screen is on or within that first 5 minutes or so after the screen goes off. But since installing Pie, Kuna always has a delay of 5 to 10 minutes before notifying. Kuna does this 100% of the time. In fact if I have the phone awake, looking at the screen when walking out the front door, when the motion sensor is triggered, immediately there is a notification icon. But the sound notification is always delayed. This seems like an issue with Kuna and they are well know for being very slow with updates and fixes but eventually they do fix things. But the notification sound delays described in this thread do indeed seem like a system issue with Pie. Hopefully enough people will have the issue that Google will figure it out and fix.
I am having same issues after updating to Android P. At first, notifications came late about 5 min, but then they started to vary some coming in 15-30 minutes later. Can't figure out what is causing the time difference but either way I can't find a fix. I spoke with Google support and they had no fix as well.

Nope, they didn't mention anything about existing issues or being aware of the issue.
Any one found any solutions or fixes? I feel like my notifications are becoming even more delayed now and have also realized I'm not getting a lot of various notifications at all (through many different apps).
I am guessing you all are aware of this, and have tried, however I just found this recently and thought I would share for anyone that doesn't know.... Settings > Apps and Notifications > Advanced > Special App Access ..... Lots of options here with one of them being battery optimization for individual apps. After I upgraded to P, hardly any of my frequently used apps were given full battery use. Haven't played with all the other options there, however just granting apps full battery seemed to help me out.

One of the first things I tried was giving full useage, (no battery optimization) for all apps that I want notifications from. Did not help. Many other apps are still being optimized. I thought I had previously found a way to turn off all battery optimization but because I do have many apps in that list that are being optimized, I obviously did not. Right now I can't find a global setting to turn off battery optimization even though I thought I did before?
So I noticed this morning, that the main app/notification that's super delayed (5-10min after the event should have triggered) it doesn't happen when my phone is plugged in or i have the screen on in my hand. Even after going through all the battery save features and making sure this app is exempt from them, it still happens if the screen is off, or my phone is off the charger. super annoying. wish there was a fix for this already!

Verizon sent me a replacement because of this problem. I was apprehensive, but got a very nice re-furb. Still have the same problem, but I got a phone that is indicated as Verizon on the LG site. In developer mode, the bootloader unlock button works. I guess everything isn't bad. I sure hope Google straightens this out soon.

This happens only with Gmail on my phone - WhatsApp and Messages send instant notifications. Messages isn't optimized, the other apps are.
I can live with that, no big deal. Perhaps disabling battery optimization for Gmail would fix this, though.
Interesting note: I was talking to YouMail support today about something else but I asked about an issue where I get an email and transcript of a new voicemail but when I go to the YouMail app that voicemail is not shown until I drag down from the top of the screen to refresh the list. Support told me they are aware of this but can not do anything because it is a problem with the "latest Android version causing delay". So it is becoming a more widely known issue and hopefully Google will fix soon.
Thanks for all the feedback. Speaking of delay, I think I have tried just about every fix here and then some and still no luck. Wiping the phone did nothing as well. At this point, I would almost like to revert back to v8 to get this fixed.

No idea if it worked for me as when you restart the phone you need to do it again and less than 30 minutes after I went through the steps, my Pixel2 got the October update for Pie and required a restart!
Almost every Samsung android phone I've own has this problem after using it for a period of time. I've had the note 10+ since launch and the dreaded issue has return.
For some apps, I would tap the notification for the app. It would take a few minutes before the app will open.
Anyone has this issue?

Some people prefer to perform an hard reset as soon as they got the phone, before starting using it for the first time ; maybe they had some issues like yours at first, then wanted to avoid them.
Personally I didn't got any at first run.

I too have had all but one Note product since the original (skipped the 2nd gen), but this is the first I can recall this issue happening. I'm also experiencing the issue of Google Play store apps getting stuck at 99% or 100% and not installing for 10 minutes or longer.
Is it all apps or certain apps only? Are you running stock or rooted? Exynos or Snapdragon? I haven't seen this issue shown up in a while, but have had it happen on Android devices in general in the past.

I don't have this issue, but as @dhorgas, more info would be helpful if it's a problem that can easily be fixed.
Two have the issue here, It could be a common app both of you are running.

It seems to be related to pendingIntent type notifications as if I tap a notifications that is a collapsed version of all the notifications, the app will load instantly. Have a look at this video I created:
(I didn’t include the tap showing on screen unfortunately, will attempt to do another video next time)
Initial tap was when the notification is collapsed for reolink and that will just open up the app. Happens instantly.
I close the app, expanded the notification and click on specific notification
The app doesn’t open until 8 minutes + later towards the end of the video.
Issue is happening across a fair few apps so I doubt it's common app..

Have the same issue with the play store. One way to speed it up is to force close play store... Then reopen it..
The app will redownload and should install this time.. Not always..
Quick update: Got fed up and did a factory reset and restored everything. Everything's working fine now. Obviously that's a last resort, but so far it's the only solution I've seen.

Wow. That would drive me crazy. Try backup, hard reset and restore like @Aaron J did and see if that fixes the issue.

Yes.. It will fix it.. But it's temporary..
The issue won't happen straight away.. It takes a few weeks/months and will return.. It has happened to me from the note 8, note 9 and now note 10+.
Initially everything will be good and fast.. Then eventually issue will return..
So need to try to get to the root of it..

Slow notification reactions, stuck installs, notifications coming in repeatedly, notifications coming in late all at once.
If this isn't resolved soon, my next phone will definitely not be a Samsung.

Yes, my issue is gone now. Try removing windows dynamic lock and unpair your phone from your laptop if you have this setup.
If not, try slowly removing other Bluetooth devices.
For me, a Bluetooth yeelock also caused the delay to return..I have to reboot each time after using the lock to get it back to normal.
I also think a plantronics desktop headset was also causing the issue as I was getting the lag everytime I reach home since removing windows dynamic lock. I have since unplugged it and unpaired. So far been good for a few weeks now.
I heard this issue wasn't specific to Samsung but might be an Android issue..i think it started with Android 9.0 as you have mentioned as I never had this issue when I was using the note 8 before one ui.. But note 9 and 10+ both had issues..

I don't have Dynamic Lock set up, nor do any of my computers have bluetooth enabled. BUT I do have this cursed Plantronics PLT W8200 series headset that has been nothing but buggy since I got it. Not surprised if this is the cause. I just unpaired it - fingers crossed.
I hope that's it because otherwise, it's just 2 other pretty crucial devices I have paired.

Would be good to hear if this fixes your issue. Please make sure you reboot after unpairing too and if possible completely unplug the plantronics as I think it might try to connect to your phone still (but fail) and potentially still bring the issue back as my yeelock doesn't even show up as a paired device, the app just sends msg to it via bluetooth and I still have delays after using it.

So after the weekend of having the Plantronics headset un-paired, it *seems* better. Hopefully it stays that way.
