I've been doing almost all my payments with Nfc for a long time.
Ever since I got a Poco F3, I've been going crazy. I now have problems with Nfc at the same places where I shop. All settings are ok and I checked everything. When I approach the phone to the pos device to make a payment, a reading sound is heard, but the operation fails.I tried all the points of the phone one by one to pay properly.I am successful in 2 out of 10 attempts.
I wonder if anyone else has this problem?
My Galaxy Note 8 phone that I have used before did not cause a problem even once.
Since the day I bought Poco f3, my problems have been increasing every day.I know the NFC antenna is next to the camera. The most efficient system is the NCE wallet.
Sorry for bad english
Yeah, i've used samsumg pay too before switching to the poco f3 and is way more reliable.
You could try changing "secure element position" from SIM Wallet to HCE Wallet, by default comes with SIM Wallet enabled. Maybe it makes some diference to you. In a Mi9 that my gf uses SIM Wallet didn't work at all in NFC payments, in my Poco F3 works both ways, but i think maybe HCE is more reliable.
For me the default stock mode is HCE wallet.
Do you know that the nfc chip is next to the camera right? No need to try every points at least it's what I've found with a nfc reader of mine.
I haven't tried payment yet. Will do soon.
I haven't had any failed payments, but sometimes I have to open google pay for it to register. I also use HCE wallet mode.
I use it for my transportation card and is awful, it reads correctly once in 20-30 reads!!!!!
Both my mix 2s and mix 3 read it flawlessly in the first try. I still have not found a solution.

HCE Wallet is mandatory for Google Pay (G Pay).
After move from SIM Wallet to HCE Wallet every payment is none issue NFC detection for me.

so i searched around for this and no one seems to have a definite answer...or at least, no one that has possibly used these possibilities has spoken out..
here's my question..mastercard paypass mobile (and now called masterpass)... is it just an app that i'm missing that you can register on an NFC phone and then you're able to use your credit card linked to your profile?
Or will masterpass be that app when it gets release and will only support the banks that are signed on with them? (in Canada, BMO has already signed on)
basically, as a replacement option to google wallet for those (like us in Canada) who can't use wallet..or at least, functionally use it with one of our credit cards
any info is appreciated...
*sorry if this doesn't go in nfc hacking...but it's nfc related since i'm just looking for nfc payment solutions...i hate wallets
Just like Google wallet and Isis by all most of the major US cellular vendors the app is only half of the story. The other half is something that is embedded in the actual phone it self. What is missing is something called the "secure element" so that no one else with out proper access can use it and it cannot be mimicked/copied. The secure element can be anything from an actual chip embedded in the device to a SIM card that has the chip built in. If you have a credit card with the smart chip or that has wave pass or some other NFC option and you have scanned it with your device, heck even the popular skylanders toys there is an area that is secure and no matter what you do you cannot view the data or alter the data, that's an example of a secure element. That's what is missing from your device

I wasn't asking why i can't use google wallet. I could actually use google wallet before they took away their virtual card in October. I can't add any credit card because my billing address is in Canada (not completely true...like most others, i can add my card but the transaction will not go through when i try to use google wallet with that card).
the gist of my question was more along the lines of, is masterpass like google wallet? does it already exist with paypass mobile or is paypass mobile just an internet profile that you can use to pay online and masterpass will absorb it but also be an nfc payment method?
at MWC recently, mastercard mentioned masterpass as an NFC payment solution...so i would imagine that you can use credit cards from banks that are signed on with it as nfc payment...but it is not 100% clear
well, masterpass launched today, and from what i read on mobilesyrup, it looks like nfc payments will not be possible
i hate that we are seriously lacking in an option similar to google wallet
if anyone signed up for masterpass and says it does work through nfc, please let us know...as of now, from any article i've read, it doesn't look like it works...
Can anyone try to pay with NFC, like android pay or some bank app??
I cannot, and SAT told me that there is no issue founded...
I've payed already a few times with my own bank app, but it seems that the NFC antenna is a bit lower than normal... In most phones it would be around the camera, in this phone I've place like the are of the fingerprint scanner/middle of the phone in the terminals with small connection areas.
My model is the European one.
What country are you in?
Im using Android Pay without issues.

I'm in the US and use AP frequently. The NFC seems to be near the fingerprint scanner, so don't tap the top of the device, other then that works fine for me.
I have the same issue. I can't pay with nfc.

Have you found the issue? I have the same problem. NFC works, but paying with the phone does not work.
I have now found the solution. It was the NFC SIM Card from Vodafone. This has completely disrupted the internal NFC. Have now ordered a new SIM without NFC and used.
The G-Pay payment works fine now.
Can you confirm for the vodafone nfc sim. ? I have also vodafone but with my previous Galaxy S9+ I didnt have any problem with the payments using my bank app! Very frustrated and dissapointing from LG
guys, i´ve talked today with vodafone Germany and they said they just have nfc sim Cards.
the dude told me to turn off nfc on my phone and try it again. Maybe that will work. try it again tomorrow but somehow i don´t believe him...

NFC "Tap and Pay" In-Store Payment Ability Removed by Google since 2014 [Confirmed]
T-Mobile Galaxy Note 3 and variants w/ same NFC chip:
NO In-Store NFC Payment Capability Since 2014One of the factors for which I decided to purchase a Note 3 was its NFC feature. I recall the mention of "at-register payments" and Tap and Pay. I have lived a good chunk of my Note 3 modding time around the idea of having working NFC for two reasons, 1) the prospect of using the NFC writer (functional) and 2) in-store at-register/terminal payments.
To my great long-term disappointment, it is simply not possible with the on-board NFC chip. The reason is that the NFC chip on these Note 3 variants just missed the mark for the new security standards rolled out with the KitKat updates. NFC has multiple standards. The NFC hardware in these Note 3 variants does not have Host Card Emulation (HCE) ability. Google removed the Android Pay compatibility with most of the Galaxy Note 3's in 2014.
Samsung says that the Note 3 can make at-register payments with a special SIM. These seem to be scarce in 2019, but I could be wrong.
Also, the T-Mobile Note 3 NFC chip will not work on Marshallow or above, and will not work on any kernel except for kernels compiled for the "T-Mobile Note 3", no matter if the ROM Dev says "everything is working fine!" in his/her first post. Just do an in-thread search for "NFC" and feel disappointed in much less time that it took me. :crying:
I have read of a couple of instances where people where able to use an NFC/SIM combo on an AT&T Note 3. This dual NFC/SIM card has a "Secured Element". But those seem to be rare these days, and at such a point, you may just want to consider a newer phone (I wish I knew all of this 5 weeks ago).
Summary:
Nice Screen
Great Phone
No In-Store NFC Payments
and
NFC will only work on a real T-Mobile Note 3 kernel
which means Lollipop or below

i set it up for my visa card in germany. works flawlessly. didn't try to pay yet, but everything is configured in googlepay.
but: your bank has to support it (ING in germany does: www.ing.de ).

This phone supports mifare classic. It has nxp pn553 chip if I'm not mistaken, and I can read classic cards with Nxp TagInfo and MCT without any problem.
Edit: Checked it again and it seems that nfc gives errors quite often while interacting with mfclassic cards. Not sure what causes this, though.

There is another workaround if your bank doesn't support, you can link your bank account to PayPal and give your PayPal credentials in Google pay.
Enable your NFC and in the secure element position settings use HEC wallet instead of Sim

Thanks , this is great and nice to know but.. I live in Serbia.. and PayPal is not working fully, but I definitely try this..
Hi every Samsung Pay user,
tl;dr: When I use Samsung Pay (France) on my S20+ 5G, it always fails the first time, I have to make the payment twice for it to work once.
I've got a S20+ 5G (G986B) in France, with CSC XEF/BOG. I've installed and configured Samsung Pay, as I did with my Note9 (same credit card). But nearly every time I try to pay with my S20+, the card machine recognizes the phone but refuses the payment the first time (the phone still thinks it was successful), and I have to try again right away for the payment to finally work.
This is quite frustrating as my Note9 (that I still own and use) always makes contactless payments right the first time. I know the NFC antenna isn't placed at the same spot for both phones, but each time I place the phone correctly depending on its NFC position. Also I'm using a Samsung Clear View case, so that souldn't be a problem either?
I may try Google Pay to see if it shows a similar problem, but for now I can't because I'm on OneUI 3 beta and I can't use GPay temporarily (this SPay issue was present on OneUI 2.5 too though).
Does anyone have the same issue, or some way to fix it? I still pay with my Note9 mainly because it works everytime. And I don't use my Watch that much because it doesn't work everywhere, and I often get my phone out for the fidelity cards anyway so, I may as well use it for payment too
Had exactly the same issue on 2.5, since moved back to google pay havent had that issue ever again
