Was just wondering if this feature in the poco f3 would be implemented in future rom's. I was looking for rom's to flash but noticed that there was no rom's that has the MEMC feature...
Love this feature.
Agreed, I'm looking for a way to get the same feature on custom roms
For some reason it doesn't work well on my device
I have a Samsung tv with this feature on and it makes videos runs at 60 fps all the yime but on the poco it rarely do that

Same here, In my samsung qled it works always when enabled, but in my poco f3 memc works inconsistently. It seems to work only when the AI senses fast motion on the screen and it's always inaccurate resulting in varied frame rate.
If there is a way to disable AI and make MEMC run continuously then this might be fixed.

Hey all. So far I'm loving this phone!
I saw that OnePlus updated their 6 to enable 480 fps super slow motion video a while back, and since this is also a SD845 phone I'm wondering if Asus can also add this option to the 5Z?
What do you guys think?

Hey friend.
The ZenFone 5z's Soc can take up to 960fps
but there's no Dedicated RAM(DRAM) for camera to process that kind of frames.
for example: Sony Xperia XZP's camera has a DRAM with 128MB and high frequency (don't remember the number).
anyway, Try some other camera UI apps that may work.

Yeah I know what it is capable of, was just wondering if it might be possible for Asus to add the 480 fps at 720p option through an update like OnePlus did. Thanks anyway.
Bumping this thread back up.
Read yesterday that Xiaomi is sending an update to the Poco F1 which enables 960 fps slow motion video. As far as I know the Poco was never mentioned with having support for this sort of feature when it was launched. Any thoughts on this?
I'm going to contact Asus and see if they are going to include at least a 480 fps option since 960 fps requires different hardware (like RAM for the sensor).
hello, the phone has the same processor as the g8 power and the g8 plus, but it does not have support to record in super slow motion (240 fps), which if they have the other 2 phones mentioned, is there any way to unlock it?

The other 2 devices support it, but don't use it according to Motorola's website. Qualcomm states the SDM665 is capable of it though. My best guess, is you'll need a modified Gcam. Users for the Redmi Note 5 Pro report that this build works for them to unlock 240fps slow mode.

Not working for me, any Solution?

Have you tried this build specifically? Barring that, I'm not sure. The emmc might not be fast enough to support it. The CPU definitely can handle it though. I'll see what I can dig up for you.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/GCam_6.2.030_N7P_test1.apk
Edit: Try adding this to the build.prop reboot, then test the modded Gcam. You'll have to set these numbers back to zero if it doesn't work, or you'll get some funky camera issues.
Code:
persist.camera.eis.enable=1
persist.camera.is_mode=4
hello thanks for the support, I tried the camera version you placed and it lets me record at 1 / 8x but when watching the video it is the same as at 120fps, now I will try modifying the build.prop, this is very rare ...
For people who have does phone. Is the MEMC distracting? Can you turn it off? Does it work in youtube? I am looking to buy this phone but am scared of memc ruining yt videos. Thanks in advance.

No negative effect that I have noticed in YouTube
Videos look good for me
MEMC doesn't work
As far as it goes, my mi 10T pro doesn't do frame interpolation. MEMC may be region restricted or smthn, but since xiaomi support is ignoring my mails, i'm left in the dark. If anyone finds any settings associated with motion enhancement, pls let it be known here. TY

I was watching a football stream the other evening using the Firefox browser and the ROM smoothed out the footage to add additional frames
It looked great.

yup its on.
I recently purchased the Mi 11x/poco f3. Having owned TVs with Motion Interpolation, I was expecting the MEMC feature work in a similar way i.e match the video fps to refresh rate e.g 30 fps video to 60fps on a 60hz screen. In TVs, MEMC really smoothens up motion when watching sports/action scenes which is really useful.
But in my phone, the MEMC seems to kick in only when the AI senses fast motion on screen (which is inaccurate mostly) and this results in the video being played at inconsistent frame rate,( 30 fps at one moment and jumps to 50-60 fps then reverts back to 30 fps). This is really annoying to watch. I confirmed this with the inbuilt 'power monitor' in developer options.
Is there any way to disable the AI and make the MEMC chip to interpolate all the frames when MEMC is enabled?. This will make the frame rate/fps consistent. Has anyone tried that?
Hello, Im currently using Xiaomi 13 Pro with Global version and running MIUI14. I am having a problem while watching in youtube about distortion or large pixels randomly appear in the video. Anyone experiencing it and possible solution? it is kinda annoying and its just in youtube, other streaming have no problems like primevideo, netflix and disney+. you may check my attached screenshot for reference
Have you tried to turn off MEMC and other boost image quality features that Xiaomi enabled by default?

Me too have the same issue. Haven't find any solution yet
Can you share the link YouTube you have it? So I can compare with a different device.
Hello, I have a xiaomi poco f3 and experienced something similar but worse (youtube videos showing weird pixels and colors or noise like display at parts of the video, like a broken tv signal). I tried moving from miui 14 to a custom pixel OS but it did not solve the issue. Another thing I experienced is that 240p and below it was working flawlessly, anything above and I'd get the glitches. Likewise, other platforms like twitch.tv worked perfectly. Trying revanced youtube, root version or not, did not work for me. I pinpointed the problem to the vp9 codec, which is used by youtube videos when setting resolution above 240p. The following things worked for me:
a) Whats your refresh rate? Try setting it at 120hz at all times (other options like setting it automatically or per app won't do, for my pixelOS, it was "force peak refresh rate" in Display settings). This solution worked for me globally, including the youtube app, but increases battery consumption.
b) Browser only solution, that works without forcing max refresh rate at all times (and thus saving battery): use the enhanced-h264ify extension, available for android only for kiwi browser, afaik. There, in the addon options, block vp8, vp9 and av1 (iirc they all came pre checked)
