[HACK] Rooting Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000B - Modelo Brasileiro

Ae pessoal,
Para os brasileiros que querem proceder com o Rooting no seu Samsung Galaxy S, que aqui no Brasil recebeu o código de GT-i9000B.
Fiz uma pesquisa e há vários posts com um arquivo update.zip que deve ser colocado no internal card(phone) para executar o processo de rooting, mas o arquivo exibe a mensagem: Failed (Status 7). Isso acontece porque o script do updater não consta o modelo brasileiro GT-i9000B.
Estou colocando em anexo o arquivo já modificado que utilizei no meu Galaxy S e funcionou perfeitamente.
Procedimento:
1) Coloque o arquivo update.zip na raiz do cartão interno do Galaxy S, pode ser feito pelo explorer ou pelo Kies;
2) Desligue o aparelho, em seguida pressione as teclas (Volume UP - lado esquerdo do aparelho) + (Home - Tecla central na frente do aparelho) + (Liga/Desliga - lado direito do aparelho). O aparelho vai ligar na tela de recovery.
3) No menu de recovery selecione a segunda opção utilizando a tecla Volume Down em seguida pressione a tecla Home para executar o update.zip.
4) O aparelho será reiniciado após o processo.
Se tudo correu bem, verá na lista de Aplicações um novo programa chamado Superuser Permission (Um icone ninja muito louco).

For Brazilians who want to carry on with the Samsung Rooting S Galaxy, that here in Brazil received the code GT-i9000B.
I did some research and there are several posts with a file update.zip to be placed on the internal card (phone) to run the process of rooting, but the file displays the message: Failed (Status 7). This is because the script is not in the updater Brazilian model GT-i9000B.

Primeiro eu baixei o arquivo zipado para o Windows e coloquei-o numa pasta. Usei um programa disponível no Samsung Market chamado "SwiFTP" que na realidade é um servidor de FTP e que usa a rede wireless. Partindo do Windows estabeleci uma conexão FTP entre o desktop e o Samsung (na configuração prévia eu havia criado uma conta no SwiFTP com login/password). Com o comando "put" eu transferi o arquivo update.zip para a raiz do /sdcard/ conforme manda o tutorial e segui os passos descritos.
Como sou novato não posso te dizer no momento se está tudo correto mas o telefone não ficou bloqueado e realmente apareceu o ícone respectivo no conjunto de aplicações.
Devem ter outras formas para transferir o arquivo mas achei essa a mais fácil.

I've took some steps in order to upload the file "update.zip" to my Samsung Galaxy SDcard. First of all I installed the program "SwiFTP" which is available from Samsung Market and created one account and its password. Next, I've started a FTP session from my Windows and the mobile using SwiFTP and the Wi-Fi connection. From inside the Windows Download folder I "put" the "update.zip" file to the Samsung SDcard. Everything worked fine according to the tutorial.

Guys use Z4root for rotting. You can get it here, on XDA.

Defy freezing - Defy TRAVANDO

Pessoal,
Não sei se é o lugar apropriado, mas ha um mês comprei um Defy. Com duas semanas, o aparelho começou a travar, impossibilitando seu uso (travava ao chegar na tela de desbloqueio).
O aparelho foi para a Motorola (garantia) e retornou com o mesmo problema ("foram trocados o speaker e itens plasticos cosmeticos", segundo o laudo - para mim, itens que não devem ser os responsáveis pelos travamentos).
O descaso da Motorola fica claro, quando eles alegam que apenas após o terceiro envio para a assistencia eles poderão cogitar a hipótese de troca (fico pensando em quem teve problema no 11º mes).
Estou de mãos atadas, pois não tenho o que fazer, senão enviar o aparelho por mais duas vezes para a empresa, para que eles tentem resolver o problema.
Quem souber de algo que possa ajudar a solucionar o problema ou então a espalha-lo, para que outras pessoas pensem duas ou mais vezes ao escolher seu andoir.

O celular começa a travar depois de usar aplicativos que consomem muita memoria? se esse é o caso, eu acho que o firmware é mal feito pela motorola.
Enfrentava esse problema, mesmo sem usar muitos aplicativos, mas so apos 2 dias sem reiniciar.
Agora tou usando um custom firmware CM7, o defy fica bem rapido e nao trava.

Com a versão nova do google maps, o defy fica travando mesmo. Tem um jeito de consertar:
0) rooteie o aparelho
1) instale e abra o root explorer (ou qualquer outro programa que permita editar arquivos como root)
2) edite o arquivo /etc/sysctl.conf
- se tiver lá

mude para

vm.min_free_kbytes=4096
- caso não tenha essa linha acrescente ela com:

vm.min_free_kbytes=4096
salve e reinicie seu defy, ele vai parar de travar com google maps e outros apps 3d.

Amigo, meu Defy já está rooteado, com o root explorer instalado mas não localizo o arquivo sysctl.conf no diretório /etc/, poderia me ajudar?

Look for "Sysctl Config" on Market. Maps is working perfect here after I installed it.
But what you´re calling "freezing" ? That solves the problem with GoogleMaps, it won´t help you if it´s freezing randomly... Try to be more specific

What is the version of android instaled on your phone? Maybe if you change your rom will fix it!

Cara, tente ser mais especifico com a parte do "travando". Da mesma forma como o nosklo citou uma solução para o que seria falta de memoria para os aplicativos, poderia ser apenas o blur zuando o seu celular. Digo pq passei bastante tempo com a stock rom, e nunca vi uma rom para dar tanto force close e freezing. as vezes o problema pode estar onde vc menos imagina, como um bad block no cartão de memoria (formata/scandisk que provavelmente resolve) ou o chip estar danificado (procura a operadora e troca), e vc estar ai enchendo o saco da motorola jurando a culpa ser do aparelho entende?.
Dude, try to be more specific with the part of "freezing". Just as the nosklo quoted a solution to what would be lack of memory for applications, could be just kidding blur your mobile phone. I say it 'cause i spent considerable time with the stock rom, and have never seen a rom for close to both force and freezing. sometimes the problem may be where you least expect, like a bad block memory card (format / scandisk likely solve), or the chip be damaged (the search operator and switch), and you be there borring motorola swearing be the fault of the machine,got it?.

Hi again,
I did like you said. I´ve installed "Sysctl Config", switch to 4096, and the google maps stopped to bug.
BUT, after a week, my defy device, since I turn it on, doesn´t work. It freezes as soon as the operacional system starts, and I have to take the battery out to turn it off.
Can you help me, otherwise, I´m afraid, but, I´ll throw this phone in a trash can.

esse modulo mudaa barra de status pra cor do 'app'
quando a barra fica brancao relogio nao muda de cor pra preto ou cinza, acompanhando os demais icones
é como se a cor so muda-se quando mudam os minutos..
Há como fixar isso?
O relogio nao desaparece quando recebe uma nova notificação..
fica sobreposto, de forma meio estranha..

Verificando... que programa usa para popup na mensagem?

uso o 8sms...
é muito bom, mas nao pode deletar o msm.apk stock se nao o 8sms nao funciona..
ele tem varias configurações pra msg, é otimo, nas proprias opções voce pode mudar o icone, pra ficar igual o stock..
qual é esse seu winget, muito da hora..
alias, a gente podia trocar umas informaçoes depois, tenho futricado muito no meu moto g..
mas nao tenho consiguido descompilar nenhum apk..
acho que eh meu computados... descompilar ate vai, mas da um erro na hora de compilar..
tenho os javas e o sdk instalado certinho mas nao vai de jeito nenhum..
pode me enviar seu apktool?

First of all, thank you for all the work you put into this. Would it be possible to fix the alignement on the battery icon and add day of the week like the xposed module allow it on single sim/aosp firmwares? Example:
EDIT: Oh and also to remove the second unused toggle on the quick settings. Not sure if it can be done on xposed or such, apparently gravity box does not recognize it.

Olá, espero poder te ajudar, faça o seguinte: 1- Escolha um Launcher (eu uso Microsoft, mas acho que funciona com outros) 2 - vá até as configurações nas informações do aplicativo. 3 - vá para os 3 pontos no canto superior direito. 4 - selecione (configurações de aplicativo padrão) e, em seguida, selecione área de trabalho. 5 - Escolha o Launcher que você baixou e pronto. Agora, se você definir sua predefinição no seu Launcher, tudo funcionará bem, porque você usou a maneira correta para o telefone usar o seu launcher como principal.

Old System Update UI

I am using Redmi Note 8 Pro Global. After updating to Android 11 I have noticed that the system update UI has been changed to stock android UI. I got the latest update via OTA but I couldn't find the option to manually update from the file like I use to do previously. Anyone else has the same issue and if so anyone can help me fix the issue. Attached is the screenshot of the issue also I have watched few videos on youtube and others have proper MIUI system update UI.

Start of the video you can see the system update UI but in my screenshot, I get totally different UI.

Same with me .. but that's not the worst thing.
My version is 12.5.3 global and the device is practically unusable .. random reboots, battery draining, apps can't open properly most of the time only black or white screen appears.
I have to downgrade to miui v12.0.8, as it is the last stable version for my rn8 pro.

Hello download Activity Launcher app, open it and search for "update" press on top and put it as a shortcut on home screen, ready to update manually. Hope this helps
