Hi there,
Is there anyway to add support to film in HDR?
It's sad that the TCL 20 Pro has HDR filming and TCL 10 Pro doesn't while the screen supports it
I also wonder if forking the camera app from TCL 20 Pro could be installed and work on 10 Pro...
It might be possible to add HDR filming support to the TCL 10 Pro with a software update or by installing a third-party camera app. Have you tried reaching out to TCL customer support to see if they have any plans to add this feature to the device in the future? Alternatively, you could consider upgrading to the TCL 20 Pro if HDR filming is a must-have feature for you. If you're interested in learning more about filmmaking and post-production, I would highly recommend checking out the praguefilminstitute.cz. They offer a range of courses and workshops for aspiring filmmakers and video editors, and their instructors are experienced professionals who can teach you valuable skills and techniques.

Apologies if this topic has been repeated, but this regards the new Camera API in Lollipop.
Having found this app for the N5 only, for now, utilising the new Camera API:
https://github.com/PkmX/lcamera
it allows the device to record video at the full camera resolution (just under 4K for the N5).
Now does this use of the API mean we could get this device's camera to record video at 2.2K or whatever the max resolution of the 5MP sensor is? Or does that LCamera project exploit API plus N5 specific hardware features we're not aware of?
I know a tablet camera is still silly but it would be decent to have 2K video recording abilities! Thanks for any feedback!
Hi all. I am curious of what 4k bitrate ability and limitations there are on the HTC 10, with 3rd party apps., specifically to US variants including sprint t-mobile , att , verizon..
Does anyone know how well the HTC 10 would do with 3rd party apps for 4k? Can I rely on stock firmware? or are there camera mods needed for HTC models for improved 4k?
I am looking to use these apps :
Cinema4k
Lumio Camera
Freedcam
Open Camera
Curious if anyone had used any of these with the HTC 10 ...and what variant? and android version? for 4k higher bitrate?
How well did they work?
I am curious to know before acquiring one.
Any and all opinions , info appreciated.
So I am pretty sure the stock 4K recording is between 45-55MBit
Open Camera works very nicely, especially if you want to shoot in RAW mode. I have never used it for video however. I only use OpenCamera if I want to shoot in RAW mode. Otherwise, I use the stock camera app. It is just way faster to have an app already configured to shoot in RAW rather than trying to configure your "normal" app to RAW on the fly. Just choose the app that is already configured for that purpose.

TL;DR:
Just like its sibling, the G7 ThinQ, LG G7 One receives Netflix HDR support although it's restricted to the 4 screen subscription plan only.
HDR (High Dynamic Range) allows for noticeably better image contrast on supported content. This allows for better image quality even on lower resolutions.
Other devices that support Netflix HDR are: Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, XZ3, LG G7 ThinQ, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Huawei P20, Mate 10 and Razer Phone (this isn't an exhaustive list).

Hello, I can't seem to get HDR feature to work. My Netflix subscription is 4K and HDR, but when I try to watch a movie or series that has HDR I don't notice anything different, screen brightness doesn't change. Do I need to configure something?
Also, I tried watching HDR content on YouTube, but again, no luck. There's no option in the quality settings of the video to switch to HDR, just regular resolution settings such as 1440p60, 1080p60, etc. Seeing as LG G7 ThinQ is one of the Signature Devices to watch HDR content on YouTube, I'm wondering why it doesn't work on G7 One since they have the same screen.
Any help is appreciated, thanks.
one of the main reason i pick mate 20x is because of the camera and screen... i love the huge screen combine with great camera.... for the last couple of days i have download Filmic Pro... i love the apps for slowmo 240fps video and stable hardware support... but i still cant find log profile that i need for me to do a simple video shot... and i have searching for Log Profile but still failed...
AFAIK that mode isn't supported at all. Neither are any features of the cinematography kit. I've read somewhere that Filmic Pro's implementation of LOG profiles is pretty shonky anyway so you're probably not missing much apart from a bit less time in post.
Literally every 3rd party camera app I've tried on this phone has some form of drawback or idiosyncrasy that makes me go back to the stock one. I'm sure Huawei's camera code is janky as ****.
Hello
Does anyone know if there is any way to get EIS in 4k while recording video? I tried on GCam and other external applications but it doesn't work. I saw that there are some mods for Poco F1 that activate EIS in 4k but I didn't find anything on Redmi Note 8 Pro, and it seems to me that it can be done with software, especially since older models had this option. I don't know why the manufacturer didn't add this option here. Video in 1080 looks tragic, and if 4k had EIS it would be perfect.
