Question how to Poco F3 unlock bootloader with linux (mint) - Xiaomi Poco F3 / Xiaomi Mi 11X / Redmi K40

I'm searching for a tool an howto to unlock my Poco F3 with linux (mint). I tried to use the official XIAOMI-Unlock-Tool (found here: https://en.miui.com/unlock/download_en.html ) and tried to "open with wine" the "batch_unlock.exe" but the Poco is not recognized and "log in" results in error/close.
I also tried XIAOMI-Tool-V2-Project (found here: https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/ ) but i cancelled, as this seems to be last updated in July 2020 (Poco F3 is 2021...)
(Yes: latest ROM 12.0.5.0, latest Linux-Mint-Version, Dev-Options and USB-Debugging enabled)
Any hints or help?
Thx
Perru
UPDATE: i gave up and finally unlocked via windows, see Thread #11 https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...tloader-with-linux-mint.4274987/post-85175197

Try giving your phone a reboot after using one of these tools. I unlocked using windows however it gave me an error during the process and a reboot of my phone made it work the second time
Sorry I'm not much help

Hmm, seems as if i must setup a VM with Windows to succeed.
Or has anyone other experiences or tipps for Linux-Users? Or succeeded with the above mentioned XIAOMI-Tool-V2-Project?

I had a try without success and sadly moved to my wife's win 10 computer.

So did you manage to unlock?

Third party unlock tools that claim works on Linux and Mac. Trust it or not is your decision, can't tell you about it. Didn't use it before.

Or find USB drive and make a Windows To Go bootable disk. With this, you can boot from USB that contains Windows inside while not removing your Linux and MacOS.

I'm also waiting for an answer. Getting my phone next week and still looking into unlocking on Linux.

Someone said it works.
Make a bootable Windows inside USB and boot that Windows.

I'm also searching for an answer and it's terrible that a company with such a large user base does not provide Linux support.
I'll try 2 methods
1. Virtual Box
2. 3rd party tool

Any updates by using 3rd party tool?

I gave up and finally unlocked my Poco F3 in a Windows10-Intallation in a separate SSD. I didn't succeed with Linux Mint and windows in a virtualBox, spending several hours to play around with it and reading lots of infos. It just didn't want to correctly recognize my Poco F3, so that "adb devices" didn't show my device.
Additionally didn't succeed in installing the linux-device-drivers... The adb-15seconds-tool https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...vers-15-seconds-adb-installer-v1-4-3.2588979/ is for windows only, isn't it?)
So I unlocked then in Windows10 and the official unlock-tool after waiting the regular 7unlock-days.
Sorry for all waiting.

The 3rd party tool recognized everything. However, i need to wait for 168 hours before I can unlock. Seems like it should work. I'll post an update in the weekend.

I unlocked my bootloader using the latest xiaomi tool I got from Aur on Arch Linux.

Actually huawei remove unlock page so i'm waiting to add new devices. In all cases to add a device to official support i need of a TWRP that is no available for p20 lite at this moment
Support for the P10 series would be nice. Would make life easier in times of uncertain unlockcode situations by huawei.

There is DC Unlocker that MAYBE will be able to give you a bootloader code, but IF it does work, you will have to pay about $4.
Other than that there is NO other possible way.

Bootloader Unlockcode through sourcecode?
Now that the source code has been revealed, isthere a chance that a smart person could retrieve unlock-codes with the source?
Or can program a unlock-code generator from it. Or is the bootloader an extra binary-blob?
Just asking to help in the unlock-code-dilemma (and need the code too)

If you were backed up(read partition) every partition using mtkclient, than you just can recover your device through backup.
I had done recovering my device this way
Maybe there are other ways, but i have not tested them.

General How to Install Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5! Tutorial from Gizmochina

It’s been more than a year since the Xiaomi Pad 5 is here with all its high-end specifications consisting of Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 870 on respective models. Surprisingly, the Android tablet from Xiaomi can now run Windows 11 without any major bugs or flaws. As spotted on Geekbench running Windows 11 earlier this year, the build is now live for all the users via WOA Msmnile Project aka Mindows listed on Github. The Mindows project is been under development for the past several months.

Now, the user can flawlessly use Windows 11 on Xiaomi Pad 5. However, we recommend getting a USB Type-C adapter for use as a charger and connecting other utilities at the same time.
The performance will be a bit slow in comparison with Android on the Xiaomi Pad 5, but it is worth considering if you want the best multitasking.

Get the Pad in fastboot mode and click on this button
to re-create android partitions and then flash global with mi flash. that's how I managed to restore android on my pad.
my bootloader locked again (i don't know why?)
when i try unlock it's give an error
Failed to save unlock token and signature
i think my pad bricked. fastboot commands are not working anymore because of lock...
Can you enter recovery?

Any known limitations with using WIndows 11 on this? Does the pen work? Why does everyone recommend using a type c dock? Does the smart keyboard work?

if you can get to fastboot, try to unlock again, or flash china firmware.
If these options don't work, you will need to force it to EDL mode and have a dev account to flash it again. I find someon from tokyo, at 4 in the morning who could help me when I did this.
Your bootloader locked because you flashed stock rom and haven't changed the default value of "clear all and lock". happened to me as well. that, or you played with the tool and locked it in the BL tab.
