You can hide the navbar anyway? There's an option in the gesture settings

I don't think you're understanding what he's saying.
Built-in OnePlus gestures are terrible. You can see some stupid animations that can't be removed when you swipe the edges or the bottom.
What he's saying is that you can hide the nav bar and completely use a third party gesture system (without invoking the native gesture system). This allows better speed and removal of animations.

Yeah....
With this app you can use Other apps for gestures, oneplus gestures are very simple for me... With edge gestures, you can open apps, lock screen with custom gestures

So, which gestures app is the best to use?
I kinda miss the bottom left/right swipe to go back...

Mmm, Edge Gestures doesn't seem to have split bottom actions. Or am I missing this?
Trying Fluid Gestures for the moment.

Have you seen the new Ubuntu Phone demo? It would be great if we had gestures like that on 4.2.1, too. No more softkeys, just pure gesture control

Sure did. It looks nice, but we'll see how polished it becomes. Android has come a long way.
That's what I think, but it seems that under to get them it will be a hard Work

Bump...
I am surprised, this hasn't been done.... I am too looking into this.
I use FullScreen Toggle to disable the Nav Bar (there is also an option for that in the AOKP-roms) and GMD Gesture Control from the Market to create gestures for the missing buttons.
For the back-button I have a gesture that starts at bottom left and just goes up, for home I have one in the middle and so on. So you "swype" from below the display into the display on the positions where the buttons would normally be.

An app which is doing the following would be good:
hiding the softkeys
with a gesture showing the softkeys for 10 Seconds or so and hide them again
all the other gesture apps just enable me to set a gesture for back home menu etc, but a gesture for hiding and showing the softkeys would be great
edit:
LMT is able to run a script via gesture:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
so it would be cool to have a script doing what i need, but i don't know how to create one

GMD Gesture can do gesture to hide and unhide the softkey. But is does not have any setting to automatic hide it after a few second.

Third-party launchers will need an update for the back arrow to be hidden on the home screen by default, in Android P, when gestures are enabled. Nothing can be done at the moment.

Not on P yet, but eventually.

I'm using OnePlus gestures and highly recommend it. Along with Hide Nav Bar it's like my OnePlus 6 was...which had much better gesture navigation than the P implementation

Is that an app, does it require root or anything? And does it work well? Better then the XDA app?
If you go to the link just once, you’ll have your queries addressed in the video or the article.
Navigation Gestures by XDA does not require root access, meaning you can use our app on virtually any Android device.
Navigation Gestures by XDA doesn’t use Immersive Mode to hide the navigation bar, which means an accidental swipe near the bottom won’t interfere with our gesture controls.
Navigation Gestures by XDA doesn’t force fullscreen mode. This means that keyboard access won’t be broken unlike other solutions.

Any working overlays to reduce navbar height?

As title. The overlays that previously worked on my note 9 no longer install.
not advertisement but you can use my app custom navbar and then enable gesture navigation on the note 10 this will make the bar extremely thin while still retaining tap buttons as well as gestures seamlessly, see the attached picture you see how close i am able to push the home button to the edge almost like the chin disappears entirely
not advertisement but if you download my app and enable samsung gesture navigation you get an extremely thin navbar with both gesture and tap seamlessly
edit:for some reason it became a doublepost
Thanks, what is the name of the app? I want to try it

Customizing the gesture navigation

Devs, I see most of the ROMs now has the gesture navigation and it is easier at the same time it gives more screen space than using the navigation bar. But since our Z2 has the U-Touch button in the bottom-centre it is difficult to perform the recents gesture by swiping from the centre. So can you guys customize the gesture-navigation to:
-left side gesture to Home
-right side to Recents
-right side long hold to Previous app
-and disable the middle gesture
For these at present I use Swipe Navigation app but sometimes it doesn't work and most time it is laggy.

Most ROMs have fling and smart nav bar which have such customizations.. Have you checked that.. U can also try XDA nav gestures app from play store..

Yes, but I'm saying about this navigation gestures (pfa). Using a navigation bar, smart bar or even fling will reduce the screen space a lot, since our Z2 is only 5". That's why the stock ZUI has only one button that does almost all the navigation functions. Actually I was saying that all other Navigation options except the navigation gestures have a lot of customizations. Regarding the XDA app it is not reliable, that's why I use Swipe Navigation app.

Question Possibility to obtain the lower gesture of op7?

As the title said... I use a lot lmt launcher and i orefer to use it as border Action (left and right).
In op7 i had lower gesture that are very very usefull. In op9pro there aren't this type of gesture and the only way to use the gesture is with the "workaround" on xxx_nolimts that disable the lateral "back". But... Xxx_nolimts still not be supported and i think that when op start with android 12 rollout will not work anymore.
Any ideas to obtain the old lower gestures?
Hi,
Unfortunately you can't.
Have you tried Substratum Lite, No_Nav.apk and Fluid Gestures Navigation ?
That's what I use to have swipes for back at the bottom. Left and right side: swipe for back.
Middle bottom: swipe for home.
And swipe for next or previous app at the right of the screen, with 2 zones.
custom roms allow nav off to allow for overlay gestures
Thanks... Is what i need! I will try
