Question Bottom speaker louder than top speaker? - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hi everyone,
I tried a stereo speaker test (youtube) and I hear that the speaker on the bottom is always a bit louder than the one on the top, no matter what volume percentage I am on. It is not really noticeable in everyday use, but I am a bit paranoid if this is normal with the phone.
Could you tell me if this is also the case with your phones as well?
Thank you in advance.

Yes, it is normal on phones with stereo speakers.

That's cos the top one is an earpiece, not actually a speaker while the bottom one is a speaker, it has those little balls in the speaker housing too to boost audio. Checkout one of JerryRigEverything's teardowns if you've never seen that before.

Normal from my OnePlus experience.

Guys, the speaker on the z1c is only on the left side of the grill? if i tap it with my finger during gameplay, i cant hear a sound.
Should it be like this or are those speaker stereo and i have a faulty right speaker?

I think the speaker holes is only located there. The other parts are just for aesthetic purpose. I can tell that this is the same even on the HTC One as I had the device before I got the the z1 compact. Covering the right part of the speaker of the HTC One also stops the sound from coming out.

[Q] m8 speakers

I feel that my bottom speaker has a louder or deeper bass than the top.
And my top speaker has more treble than the bottom.
Is that normal.

Nope, I had the exact same feeling with the m7, where there was more treble on top and more bass down, but the m8 is pretty much perfect for me.. Go get yours repaired if it bothers you
Couldn't just be the way the song is mixed that you are listening to? Not all mixing is done 50/50 for stereo left and right. Some have more vocals on left or right channels as well as bass/guitiars/keyboards. I know it's old school, but pull out any old Van Halen recording.....guitar on left channel only and bass on right. Drums are center.

Bottom speaker noticably louder than top speaker

I watch a lot of videos on YouTube of people reviewing things, and I noticed that voices sound louder and clearer through the bottom speaker, is this problem specific to my pixel 2 xl or do any of you have the same issue?

Also the the top speaker is off when you receive a phone call( ringtone) and you will enable the speaker during a conversation. Why??

If I'm not mistaken, that goes back to before smartphones. Way back, there was a phone model that used the ear speaker for the ring and it was really loud. Actually rings in general used to be much louder than now, though there was a separate speaker for sound on most phones. There was some issue where people were trying to talk and having it ring right in their ear. I can't recall the exact issue, other than it was in the media.
So basically, they don't use the ear speaker for the ring so that people don't get a loud ring while they have their ear up to that speaker.

With my Nexus 6 this was not the case.. and I believe that it is very easy for a smartphone to understand and shift to the bottom one when you talk one the phone.
Well it isn't a legal requirement, just a design practice. Doesn't surprise me that a Chinese company would decide to do things differently. Proximity sensors weren't on phones until fairly recently.
It's weird as the quitet speaker on my device is the one below the navigation bar.

Bottom Speakers, does sound come out of both?

My 3a XL only seems to have sound out of one of the bottom speakers.
Is this correct or do i need to get it replaced?
If i place my finger over the bottom two speaker holes, i can only feel it out of one.

It has stereo speakers, one is the earpiece, the other is on the bottom right grill. The grill in the bottom left is not a speaker but the microphone for calls. There is another microphone on top, opposite to the headphones jack, probably used for video recording and noise reduction.

Thank you! That is what i thought i just wanted to confirm. I know some phones have dual speakers at the bottom.
The two grills threw me off.
I saw a lot of early articles that stated the stereo speakers were on the bottom. That just added to the confusion too.

Crystal Sound OLED's volume

My G8's volume is lower in the upper speaker than in the lower speaker.
Is your G8 the same too?

LG G8 doesn't have upper speaker. It has only lower speaker and sound from the screen. If you mean that so yes it really sounds not as loud as lower speaker.
It seems there are 2 "speakers" in the screen. You can actually see them if you have no protector on and angle the screen in certain ways or put some liquid on the glass.

I thought there's something like a strip of speaker inside a screen.

Thank you for answering. Its meaning is correct.
I was able to improve the volume difference by using DTS.
If you adjust the equaliser and put everything on high it makes it even louder.
Try it.
