Hello,
As the title says, I'm having a problem with notifications when the screen is off.
I'm not getting notifications from Yahoo Mail, unless the screen is turned on...and I do get them ONLY if the app is opened.
I had Asus Zenfone 2 before this and I'm used to always closing my apps after using them by using the "Recent apps" button.
Even if I closed all the apps, i would still receive notifications from Yahoo Mail and Skype.
But now things happen like this: if the app is closed, I'm not getting any notifications.
If the app is left open, I get nofications only if the screen is on, if it's off, I get notifications for a while, but if for example I try
to send test e-mail after like 30-40 minutes from my Gmail account, I won't get the notification.
The Auto Manager is set to Allow on Yahoo Mail and Yahoo Mail is also set to Not Optimized in the Battery settings.
Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix this? I can live without notifications if needed, but I'd rather have them working.
Thank you in advance.
Recently purchased the s9 (GM-G960F). However, I've noticed that the notifications are really buggy. I don't receive ANY notifications for my Gmail, Instagram sometimes works but when it does, 80% of the time it only vibrates with no sound. With WhatsApp, I only receive notifications for every 10 or so messages, and most of the time it only vibrates.
Twitter, WhatsApp and Instagram are unmonitored from the battery
All notifications are on and set to urgent (so I get sound and pop up on the screen)
Notification sound is set to "skyline" (default notification sound)
I've tried using other notification sounds but no luck
I've looked in advanced notifications and I can't find anything wrong
Reset phone twice and still nothing
I've cleared the cache a number of times for each app that notifications don't work
Any help?
Try Push Notification Fixer from Play Store

Thanks, I installed it this morning. However, there is no difference. Notifications are still buggy
Check that you didn't enable any battery saving feature or install any on your phone including those that stops applications from accessing the internet or updating in the background. Also check the status bar in the settings, "Show Recent Notifications Only" should be turned off.

I've checked and no battery saving features are activated for WhatsApp, Twitter and Instagram. (I've even turned off the save data feature in Instagram and Twitter), As for Gmail, nothing shows in the battery settings to unmonitor it.
Show recent notifications is off (it's one of the first things I did when I set up the phone)
My current Apps that I have installed are:
WhatsApp
Instagram
Twitter
Google Authenticator
Spotify
Snapseed
The rest of the apps came pre-installed on the device (Youtube, Gmail, Drive, Maps...)
I've started to uninstall one by one the Apps i've installed to see if it fixes it. So far I've tried Spotify and Instagram, but no fixes were made.
I've even gone into recovery mode and cleared the whole cache.
Hello all,
I have recently come back to Android from iPhone.
I am having delayed push notifications specifically from my Reolink wireless security camera.
Currently working with Reolink Support and have tried the following with no luck:
Solution: Please avoid turning on the Battery Saver Mode when using Reolink App.
Solution: Go to Apps -> Configure apps -> Battery optimization -> All apps, and then disable battery optimization for the Reolink App.
Solution: Please avoid closing the Reolink App or lock the Reolink App before closing the background process.
Solution: Use the Push Notifications Fixer app. <-Set to 5 minutes (recomended).
My notifications are coming in about 10-15 minutes late, which is not very helpful for security camera.
Any suggestions would be Greatly Appreciated !!!
Thanks.
i did observe same in gmail push !
I got pixel phone + gsuite payed gmail
notification was about 6-15min delay when phone was in deep sleep
I can confirmed that on iphone was wroking. properly , in time .
I get delays sometimes with Whatsapp, ebay, and paypal apps.
What frustrates me sometimes is that my Galaxy Watch sometimes stops notifications for the Samsung Email app (used for work email). Notification will show on the phone, but appears sometimes instant, sometimes delayed 5 mins, or never at all. Reboot of phone and watch does not fix it, i have to turn off the notification in Galaxy Wearable app, reboot, and re-add the notification.
I have Battery Management set to High Performance, as i do not want apps put to sleep etc.
Hello After all, I have only had my S20 Ultra for a week and I would like to ask you for help with notifications because I can't find these things anywhere, more precisely:
1. Where can I turn on applications such as Massenger, Facebook, Whatsup or even ordinary text messages with their notifications "waking the screen" (the phone is lying down, gets a notification and the screen lights up)? In the Huawei P20 Pro, which I had for 2 years, there was no need to set anything and it was at the factory system.
2. How to set that notifications appear in the middle of the screen in the form of a frame with text, and not so that now only the icon in the status bar at the top appears?
3. How and is it worth removing Bixby? For example, will removal result in extended battery life?
4. Is it possible to change the screen somehow after moving to the right - we have tabs there, including "Upday" with news, you can set Spotify, Netflix, Tiktok, or some Instant Games .. that's all? Can you set news from the world and country from Google, for example, as in other Android phones?
5. Do you know any less obvious tips on how to extend the battery life? Delete something from the system etc?
THANKS AND I COUNT ON YOUR HELP
Hello!
I've got a stock Verizon LG G7 ThinQ, and thus it is stuck on Android 9 (software version G710VM21b).
It seems that after the screen is off for a period of somewhere between 1-2 hours, the phone goes into some kind of deep sleep mode, where it will no longer bing for notifications for received texts, emails, etc. I have gone into the "Power Saving exclusions" and turned off battery management for a number of things, including Outlook, Gmail, Family Link, Messaging, The Weather Channel, etc., but that doesn't help.
The phone will bing for notifications for about 1-2 hours after the screen turns off, and then it will stop. Upon turning on the screen again, there will be numerous bings as the phone works through all the notifications that it has not displayed. It seems like it is getting the notifications, but just not announcing them. This is rather annoying. The phone does seem to ring if a phone call comes in.
Any ideas? Is there some other system service that needs to be excluded from Power Saving? There are a number of other system things that are excluded from Power Saving, but I wondering if something else needs to be excluded as well.
Thanks!
Having the same issue only mine stops after like 20-30 min
