[Guide][OOS11][Root] Enabling VoLTE/VoWiFi - similar to OOS10 - OnePlus 7T Guides, News, & Discussion

This way is very similar with how it was done on OOS10, but root is required.
Steps:
1) Open the dialer: type *#800# > Function Switch > enable VoLTE + VoWifi switch
2) Connect phone to PC, make sure it works with adb and run "adb shell"
3) Type "su" - allow superuser access on phone
4) Type "setprop sys.usb.config diag,diag_mdm,qdss,qdss_mdm,serial_cdev,dpl,rmnet,adb". At this step, phone will disconnect and reconnect to your PC.
5) Open PDC app (it will be visible now)
6) Select Telefonica_UK_Commercial or UK-VoLTE-Vodafone or w/e worked for you with OOS10
7) Right click and SetSelectedConfig for both Sub0 and Sub1
8) Select the same profile with Step 6 and press "Activate"
VoLTE/VoWiFi should work now.
You can download PDC here: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=11410963190603912872
Enjoy

Thanks for sharing

I installed 11.0.1.1 today. Since then no VoLTE icon is shown in the status bar, although VoLTE is switched on and worked before with 11.0.0.2. Call quality is poor, so it seems that VoLTE might be broken.
When I dial *#800# I am directed to the OnePlus LogKit. Nothing to switch VoLTE on or off there.
Any hints?

Pocket Mode

Dear Community,
Greetings,
I have been using the mate 20 x for a while now, and very happy with it, what is missing from the phone (and the mate 20 pro too) is the pocket mode in the settings of the dialer app. I had this option on my old Huawei P9.
When having the phone in my pocket, and a phone call starts ringing, the ringtone volume starts increasing, and this doesn't look good when I'm at work or in a meeting.
Is there any ADB command to bring the option to the settings (I used the ADB commands on P9 to show the Font Styles which was missing from the phone).
Regards,
Pocket mode gone
Hi I have the same problem,
latest with EMUI 9.0.0 the pocket mode setting cannot be found via dialer > three dot menu anymore.
Regardless of volume settings (except for vibrate only) the ring tone volume keeps increasing to embarrassing loudness levels when the phone is in my briefcase.
Is there any change to disable the pocket mode "feature" when you cannot access it anymore?
Regards,
MaeSiuS
Finally, a solution to missing pocket mode option
Hello,
I have finally solved it, I tried it and it works perfectly.
Here are the steps:
1- Install settings database editor by 4A from Google Play store
2- Allow developer options in your phone's settings
3- Allow USB debugging
4- Install platform tools ADB on your PC
5- Connect your phone to PC
6- Make sure your phone is recognized by ADB, type command: adb devices
7- if the ADB console list your device number, type the command:
adb shell pm grant by4a.setedit22 android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
8- On your phone, open the application Setedit
9- Go to the Secure Table from the top right menu
10- Find the line "Hide_Pocket_Mode", select the value, change it from 1 to 0.
11- Restart your phone, and you'll find the option in the dialer options, More settings.
Hope I helped, it took me time and some research, but it was worth it. lots of embarrassment caused by high ringtone in the office.

Most probably, yes.
download the setedit application, and make sure you have the secure table, and there is a line "hide_pocket_mode".
Let me know if it works.

It is necessary since it will grant permission to the setedit app to modify the secure table, without ADB, setedit won't work.

Oh man, this is so great! I have a P8 Lite from work which has pocket mode visible, but I also just bought a P Smart 2019 which doesn't have it visible. Or should I say HAD, because thanks to Hash_Droid I now have Pocket mode visible and disabled. I can't begin to tell you how you made my day. Thanks a lot!

Thank's a lot for this. It works perfectly on P30 Pro :good: :highfive:
It's hard to understand and unlogic why manufacturers like Huawei hide options like Pocket mode in their software. Most users, even the simpliest, surely are interested to customize ring tone options.
Thank you very much Hash_droid, works on P20 pro. :highfive:
Hash_droid, works perfectly on a Mate 10 Pro (I had the same issue) . Thanks a lot.
Thanks, confirming also for Mate 9, EMUI 9.1, not rooted (BL locked).
Btw, I've also enabled virtual HD sound - not sure if the call quality is better
This works on Mate 20 pro. But, if your ADB doesnt recognise your phone, install Huaweis HiSuite. Only so ADB listed my phone.
However, person at Huawei who decided that removing option to disable pocket mode should ne fired. Also, who ever designed the diler app. Huawei, just copy Samsungs dialer, or at least use google phone app. My galaxy S6 had 10x better dialer then my Mate 20 pro now has. At least I have google phone now.

[MOD]No notch ? Welcome to the immersive mode ! Remove the notification bar

Hi,
Our Xiaomi MI 9T is splendid with its great AMOLED full screen without any notch or hole.
However, the web browsers like Chrome (and others apps) doesn't propose the possibility in the settings to remove the notification bar and to get a true immersive full screen mode.
No problem, adb is there!
No need to root the smartphone.
EDIT: I have tested "Immersive Manager Application" from Google Play Store and it's perfect. Very simple and it works even when you reboot your phone.
No more need to type adb commands below except at least few adb commands to grant the Secure Settings permission to the app. This is well explained by the application when you launch it the first time.
I let the adb commands below for information in case we had some "purists" who prefer adb than an immersive app.
1/ Enable the Developper mode
Go to Parameters/ About the phone
Click many times (at least 10) on the MIUI Version to activate the Developper mode
2/ Enable USB Debugging
Go to Parameters/... Others parameters/Developper options
Click on USB debugging
Click on Install via USB => You will have to connect to your MI account
Click on USB debugging (security parameters)
3/ Launch adb on your PC
Get adb.exe on the net (very easy)
Put it in a folder of your PC (for instance C:/adb)
Connect your smartphone to the PC
Launch a DOS command window
Go to the adb folder => cd /adb
To check if your smartphone is ready, type:
Code:
adb devices
If it's the first time, there will be a popup on your smartphone to authorize the adb commands
Then, normally your device will appear after typing "adb devices"
4/ Get the list of applications installed on your smartphone
Code:
adb shell pm list packages
Retrieve the name of the application(s) you want to remove the notification bar.
5a/ For instance, hide the notification bar only for Chrome and Google Photos
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=com.android.chrome,com.google.android.apps.photos
Note: Each time you enter this command, you cancel the previous one. You need to type only one command with all the apps you want to remove the notification bar (names of app are separated by a comma ,).
5b/ For instance, if you want to hide the notification bar for all the applications
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
6/ If you want to cancel this setting and put back the notification bar
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control null*
Enjoy your brillant full screen mainly when you are in dark mode.
:good:

Do you have root permissions? If the asnwer is "yes" you can do this:
Install terminal emulator from google play store. Open it and writte "su"
now writte this:
settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*
Tachan! you have immensive mode active. Only save the command in a note app. Always you reboot your phone the only thing you have to do is open terminal, su and paste your command.
A lot more easy and fast than do it with adb. the only "problem" is you need root.
If someone knows how to add an exception, please say so.
How do you show it on lock screen? Any ideas?

Enable USB debugging (security settings) under developer options.
I used SystemUI Tuner as it allows for blacklisting apps (sucha as whatsapp) that don´t manage full screen well.

Maybe running a tasker command at boot might fix it ?

Yes, it's true. Each time you reboot the phone, you should loose the setting.
And good point, thank you Ramsyst, I didn't check on Google Play Store the myriad of immersive mode applications!!
I have tested "Immersive Manager Application" and it's perfect. Very simple and it works even when you reboot your phone. :good::good:
I had previously created a task with Tasker and AutoTools (paid version) to change the immersive mode with the "Custom Setting" feature. But knowing that there are many apps (free and paid version) doing that better than AutoTools, it's not usefull to describe how I did it.

With Tasker you already have an option to make all apps you want to go immersive! There is no need to use any other command or app.
I believe everybody in the world should buy tasker
Is the best Android app. It may looks hard in the begining, but your imagination is the limit to do whatever you want.

You're right. I had never tested the split screen function. The notification bar is not hidden on split screen mode even when immersive mode is activated. The result is a bit weird as there is a mix of notification bar and app on the top of the screen.
"Google search" indicates that you are not the first one to face this issue... but apparently no solution has been found so far.

Download "Setttings database editor" by 4a. Open it up and click on Global properties, scroll down until you see "tether_dun_required". Change the value to zero. You now have internet via hotspot. It's best to buy the add on because it keeps the setting locked even if you restart phone. Enjoy?

Oh my bad i left out the most important part.
1. Install adb on your laptop (search it up)
2.On your phone go to settings, general, about phone, software info, find build number section and keep tapping until you are a developer
3. Go back to general and you'll now see developer options, turn developer options on and go down to usb debugging and turn it on.
4. Connect your phone to your laptop via USB (you will get a promt on your phone along the lines of "allow USB debugging?", click ok) and open up command terminal
5. Type "adb" and press enter
6. Type the command (without quotes) "adb devices". Your device should show up.
7. Type "adb shell" and press enter
8. Open up the settings database editor and go to global and scroll down to tether_dun_required. Click "edit value" and the shell command should pop up.
Type the shell command into adb shell and press enter
9. Go to the settings data base editor and go back to the tether_dun_required and click on change value. You'll notice that you are now able to change the value, change it to 0.
10. Enjoy your hotspot!
It seems like a lot of steps but it's not. The most "difficult" task will be installing adb.
Awesome. Got it to work now. Do you have to set it to 1 for the Ota updates or after each reset? Thanks again!
No, theres no need to set it back to "1". After you shut off your phone the setting value will turn back to a "1" and you hotspot wont work until you switch it back to "0". To save time you can buy the feature pack and you'll get access to settings guardian which will keep it at "0" at all times.

I have done something similar to this procedure on a 5 and a 6 previously, but now I am the proud owner of a 9 pro europe variant and would like to enable VOLTE as per your instructions.
where do I find th apk's listed on your instructions list?
What version of PDC is needed, I have one installed from 1 year ago is it the same one?

try install latest qualcomm drivers
Reinstalling Qualcomm drivers did the trick with PDC recognizing the phone.
I tried to use two different profiles that used to work on my 5 with VODAFONE PORTUGAL, and as such i tried with India-volte-vodafone and with telefonica_uk_Commercial.
None of them gave me working VOLTE with Vodafone Portugal.
For both of them I activated sub0 and then sub1 and confirmed that the status on PDC shows as active, then rebooted but phone is not showing VOLTE enabled. And under the SIM settings the VOLTE switch is enabled.
Any ideas? Maybe a different profile?

For both of them I activated sub0 and then sub1 and confirmed that the status on PDC shows as active, then rebooted but phone is not showing VOLTE enabled. And under the SIM settings the VOLTE switch is enabled.
Any ideas? Maybe a different profile?

Try using Vodafone UK volte profile and close the pdc application after activation before restarting

This for rooted phones not suitable for his case
I did everything according to this guide and finally got VoLTE. Thank you.
For me 5G is not working, but I have 4G+ all the time, even during phone calls

How To Guide Enable VoLTE and VoWifi on OOS 13 without root

Thanks to @caracciola for posting this on the OnePlus 7 Pro forum (link to original guide), the same guide worked on my OnePlus 9 Pro (EU - LE2123 - F75 update, also on 13.1) to enable VoWifi (wifi Calling).
I am just rewording the steps here to make them clearer for me:
Note 1: If you have 2 sims, disable the second sim and proceed. After finishing with the first sim, enable the second sim and disable the first sim then repeat the steps from step 3.
Note 2: Make sure to disable permission monitoring in Developer settings.
Install Shizuku app from playstore: Shizuku - Apps on Google Play
Download "pixel ims" from the attachments of original post to your phone (direct link). Exctract the APK and install it, but do not open it yet. (Edit 27/06/2023: new updated apk available here)
Open the Start shizuku app on your phone.
Connect your phone to you PC with USB DEBUGGING enabled.
Run the ADB command on your PC: adb shell sh /sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/start.sh
You should see something like "Shizuku is running" at your phone. (Edit: might need to uncheck "Disable permission monitoring" in developer settings).
While the shizuku app is running now open the pixel ims app.
Tap "Allow all the time" when seeing prompt asking for Shizuku permission.
Press the button "Enable VoLTE" to enable VoLTE in Pixel IMS
Reboot your phone... Voilà now you have the switches for VoLTE & VoWifi on the settings
Not works for me... I have the italian operator PosteMobile
Doesn't work for me... I tried to use a custom ROM so I could have VoWiFi, but I felt something was off. I got back to OOS13 on my OnePlus 8 Pro (IN2023) with AT&T and tried this method but no success...

Thank you! It worked on a LE2121 with Android 13!
Update:
I just updated to 13.1 and lost VoLTE. Re-did the steps and got it back.
Added an edit to step 5 in OP, as with 13.1 I had to uncheck "Disable permission monitoring" in developer settings).
It's not work. Oneplus 10 pro. Oxygen os 13.1

Need to be more specific.....
Hi,
When I put in the command
adb shell sh /sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/start.sh.
on my PC, I get the following error:
sh: /sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/start.sh.: No such file or directory
I tried toggling disable permission monitoring but still getting the same result
Help please

If you are using Windows PowerShell, you might need to .\ Infront of the command. it would be like this:
.\adb shell sh /sdcard/Android/data/moe.shizuku.privileged.api/start.sh
Another suggestion, I think the command should be without the period "." at the end. I just edited the original post to remove it.

Thanks bro.
I tried like what you suggested but still the same error.
Managed to do it using wireless USB debugging. Much easier.
Thanks

Does the above step exclusively for Pixel phone? I recently bought Oneplus 11r 5g from India and living in US. My phone isn't working. Tmobile is telling me that VoLTE option should be enabled. Question is can I apply the above steps on my phone without bricking it?

I think you missed reading the first paragraph. It worked for me on my OnePlus 9 Pro on OOS 13 & 13.1. I am using a Tello (US) line which is basically T-Mobile and got VoWifi to work using these steps.
Actually I read that and I thought 11r might be different from 9Pro. Nevertheless, I gave a shot at this. I got to the place where I need to enable volte but it is greyed out and none of the other options are responding on that screen. See the screenshot. Am I missing something?
Interestingly you seem have owned same sets of phones I owned in the past too - HTC, 7 Pro etc
UPDATE - I downloaded the latest version of Pixel IMS app v1.2.6 - but has no effect on Oneplus 11r & Tmobile.
PLEASE HELP

It seems that it doesn't work for all SIM cards. I also tried the same with a 1+ 7 Pro using another SIM and it did not work. Maybe I'll try with the Tello SIM on the 7 Pro just to test if it's an issue with the phone or SIM.
Thanks Omar for trying. All I am trying to find out (1) Is my phone the culprit (or) my T-Mobile is the culprit (2) Is there a solution (with or without rooting) to make this work for USA carriers?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mahesh
Hello everybody. I have Oneplus 9R OOS 13.0 Android 13. I did everything according to the instructions using wifi debugging. The volte switch slider has become active. However, when making a call, the phone still falls into the H+, H or 3G network. I have 2 SIM cards installed, before starting the algorithm, I did not deactivate the second one. Could this be a problem? If so, what would you recommend to do in this case?
I tested SIM card 1 used for calls and the Internet in another device, Volte works on it.
Updated to LE2123_13.1.0.580(EX01) and off course lost VoWifi, however, repeating the steps re-enabled it.
Also found an updated Pixel IMS apk (link to download) that has more options when enabling VoLTE or VoWifi.
