After applying the official OS11 update (no root) to my OnePlus 7T the finger print is not working anymore. I made a factory reset to the phone but still not working. Searching for a solution I found that this update has a lot of issues. Is there a way that I can roll back to previous OS version? How can I solve this issue? Thanks in advance.
Does it not recognize the print, does it not register at all, is the fingerprint image missing from the screen, is there an error message?
Try deleting all prints, cancelling all security (pattern/password/etc), clear cache from recovery, redo the pattern/pin/etc, re-enter the prints.
You can roll back to 10, but it will wipe your phone.

Out of the blue, my finger print reader has been acting up, my friend told me to post my problem here. I don't remember if I updated my phone recently, to be honest, I am pretty sure I never accepted anything. I was wondering if I may have accidentally update or something I was able to find this information:
baseband m8994F -2.6.30.0.68
bootloader BHZ10K
Do I need to update? is this a new version? old version? If its not a new update then I guess I can conclude it might be a hardware problem?
Check Settings / About Phone and report the Android Security Patch Level and Build number
If your phone is fully up to date these will be be 1/3/16 and MHC19J (or possibly MMB29V)
Have you tried deleting / re-adding your prints?
Did you install any new apps right before it started? I consistently get the pin prompt (due to unrecognized print) every time I use 'Screen off and lock'
Lastly try wiping all cache (app/cache/dalvik), that seemed to work for several redditors.
updating may not be the solution, some were actually reporting issues after they updated to MHC19J
edit: just found this - using a lock widget messing up the print scanner is a common issue
Hi,
I'm a first time nexus user. I got the update via OTA and it installed without any problems. Device has become very slow after the 7.1.1 official update. I'm having below problems on my device.
- Device doesn't unlock with finger print.
- Have to wait for about 5 secs to wake the device via power button.
- Lift to check not working
- Double press power to activate camera takes long to launch camera.
- Shake to switch front cam not working.
- Display takes long to show up when receiving a call.
I have taken many actions to get rid of these problem such as clearing cache partition and factory resting. Still these problems persists. Would highly appreciate if anyone could guide me out of this!!!
Thank you in advance!

i've had the same issues....re-flash the factory image and if you mod don't change anything before first boot
Tried factory image flashing
I Flashed the factory image. Still the problem persists.
Please help! :crying:
I'm having the same issue right now. I decided to leave the Dev Preview, coz I had massive WiFi troubles. What I did was flash the stock N4F26I via Flashfire app. All seemed to work like it should. Then I realised that lift to wake is not working any more.
I did a full factory re-flash, to no success.
Yesterday I tried the latest Feb update, again, full factory image flash incl. data partition.
Lift to wake refuses to work.
Any ideas anybody?
Just recently my fingerprint scanner will decide to stop working. I'll dirty flash my ROM (latest PureNexus) and it'll go back to normal for a little while. Is this a known issue with nougat I'm not aware of?

No, that is not a nougat issue or an issue with that particular rom. It's either firmware, which is in vendor our a failing fingerprint sensor. Try re flashing vendor and see if that helps
I was having that problem too. I tried several things with no luck. The menu option for the fingerprints (under personal/security) disappeared, and since I am clueless about the Nexus phone (iPhone convert), I was baffled. For a separate reason, I had used the ad blocker plus browser to clear the cache of suspicious garbage, then restarted my phone. The fingerprint menu item reappeared, and now the sensor works again....so try clearing your cache.
I got too i fixed by clean fingerprint connector in the phone.
Hello everyone,
for the last few days I have been unable to unlock my phone with the fingerprint scanner and had to use the code unlock. The hardware part apparently still works, since the "wake screen with fingerprint sensor tap" still works, but I can't even remove old fingerprints, or reset the scanner settings/data.
I'm using everything stock on 3.16.401.2 firmware.
It doesn't even work in safe mode (I've read that it may be caused by a third-party app).
Has anyone come across this issue, or a similar one?
I'm guessing factory reset could probably solve the issue if it is solely software related, but I'd like to solve it without that.
Do you use custom recovery (TWRP) or still Pure Stock? I have a solution but must be in custom recovery or rooted device.
Unfortunately it's all stock. After talking with HTC support and clearing Fingerprint scanner cache and data, the problem of not being able to remove scanned fingerprints still persisted, so it looks like I'll have to factory reset.
Hey everyone,
I have an OnePlus 3 with LOS 16.0 installed on it.
My hardware buttons stopped working yesterday, so I did an FW update to FW 40 OB.
I tried to reboot after the update, but now I get a message, that my password is correct, but the encrypted data is damaged.
It says that my only option is to hard reset the phone.
I can't even revert to a backup since TWRP also can't encrypt my data.
Is there any way to recover the data / make to phone working again? I already resetted to FW 5.0.8, but I still get the same error.
EDIT (SOLVED):
Regarding to this post https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79209161&postcount=1477 I can do nothing
