Pixel Experience 11 Bootloop - Google Pixel XL Questions & Answers

Hi,
i was using LineageOS 17.1(Android 10) on my pixel Xl (32 gb storage)
when android 11 came out, I thought I would switch to pixel experience. So I went to their official website and downloaded the android 11 version of pixel XL
There was an instruction guide provided by the developers on how to install android 11
So I followed that and even after applying update from the adb, there was no issue at all
but when I pressed "Reboot to system" Bootloop is happening
Note: I didn't noticed the official instruction first so i installed twrp to flash the rom just like I flashed LineageOS, but in the advance wipe section, there was only 4 option available
-Dalvik / ART cache
-System
-Data
-Internal Storage
there was no cache option
I formatted the data and wiped all of them and tried to both install and sideload the rom but every time during the installation, an error (code 28) occurs
Then I downloaded the rom again hoping that the previos 1 was corrupted and i saw the instruction guide this time.
So I followed the guide and installed their recovery image, flashed recovery partition and flashed the rom using sideload.
But after rebooting the system, Bootloop keeps occurring
*sorry for any misspell or grammatical mistake*

I'm having the same issue. Did you flash the repartition zip?
I ended up reflashing stock rom https://developers.google.com/android/images#marlin
Try doing that and restarting the process

I actually solved the problem a few moments ago
What i did wrong was, when i sideload the rom rom file with twrp i always cleared the dalvik and cache file
let me make a little guide for you..hope that will help
1. install twrp recovery
2. go to wipe section -> advanced wipe -> wipe all 4(Dalvik/ART cache, System, Data, Internal Storage)
3. do a factory reset and format data
4. go to mount section and check all the boxes (system, data, vendor)
5. sideload the repartition zip according to your storage and device model (mine was pixel xl 32gb)
6. after sideload is done reboot the system..it will reboot into recovery again
7. then again sideload the rom file (don't check the clear cache and dalvik boxes)
8. after that is done, go back to main menu and go to reboot-> switch to slot B-> Reboot into system
Hopefully you're done
Note: don't skip any step regarding how minor it is
and if you wish you can also follow the official instruction: https://wiki.pixelexperience.org/devices/marlin/install/
Let me know if it works for you
Best of luck!

Stuck in Twrp reboot loop

I recently installed twrp and for my moto g5 then I did format data later on went for reboot system then I found no os installed so I installed a custom Rom later rebooted the system then I got stuck in twrp loop. I went through all the solution but it did not work so please help. Thank you
If you're on stock rom you need to remove dm-verity for it to boot (read faqs on twrp thread!)
For custom rom flash it correctly
Wipe
Advanced wipe
Wipe system data cache
Install
Select rom zip
Select gapps zip
Select root zip (optional)
Wipe cache
Restart
What architecture rom and twrp are you using?

Cannot Install Any Custom Rom

I recently unlocked my bootloader after waiting for 1440 hours. I am/was currently on MIUI 10.0.1.0 but wanted to install a custom rom like lineage 15.1. I installed Red Wolf TWRP and then tried to install the rom. I went to Advanced Wipe section of the recovery and checked Dalvik, Cache, Data and System but not Vendor and Internal Storage. It wiped those partitions without any error. But after that i tried to install the rom but halfway through install it ended with "Update Process Ended with Error 7" and a line saying "Failed to Mount /system (Invalid Argument)" and changed the system partition size to zero. I had to repair it and flash MIUI back using fastboot.
I did this same process over and over with different recoveries ( RED WOLF, ORANGE WOLF and even official TWRP) and different builds of lineage (rom zip was never corrupted) and even with ressurection remix but still failed and same thing happened again and again. Am I doing something wrong in the process? I didn't flash lazyflasher as I read in multiple threads that it is not necessary if flashing a custom rom. Please guide?
I hope it works for my English.
1- mount > select all > restart recovery
2- full wipe > install rom and gapps > format data

Thanks for replying. You said full wipe. Should I include vendor as well or just regular (Dalvik, Cache, Data and System)?

OK. I will try your method and will report back.
Update: I tried your method but still failed. Any other solution will be appreciated.

I again tried the process as follows:
Flashed MIUI 9.6.4.0 with MiFlash using clean and lock option.
Then I unlocked it again using miunlock.
Then I flashed RedWolf v28 beta recovery by booting it and flashing it from inside recovery.
This time I flashed lazyflasher and checked options disable dm-verity and force encrypt in recovery and installed magisk. It did it perfectly.
Then I went to Advanced Wipe Section of Wipe tab and checked all the option required like cache, dalvik, data, system and even vendor. It wiped it without any problems like always.
But here the same problem starts to arise: when I again tried to install lineage 15.1 (downloaded latest build this time too) it starts but after halfway through it says Updater process ended with Error 7
Cannot install sdcard/lineage-build date and version
and Unable to mount /system (invalid argument)
When i restart recovery system partition size changes to zero and I have to repair it by changing the file system option.
Currently now I'm on MIUI 9.6.4.0 with RedWolf recovery (options disable dm-verity and force encrypt are enabled) and lazyflasher and Magisk installed. I can use my phone when I flash MIUI 9 or 10 using but it not letting me to install any custom rom. I'm really frustrated.

When you get the mount error, come to the home page and get to the mount. speak enable all options enable all options. speak restart recovery restart recovery. make format data
Not sure if the link is forbidden? I can't tell you sorry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzrWkjOfndA&t=501s
I have read replies and everyone is sharing his bit of suggestions, here are mine
1. boot redwolf as FASTBOOT BOOT recovery.img - (if you arent already)
2. change file type of /data partition to-from (xFat to ext4) and wipe all partitions (internal storage can be skipped)
3. instead of linage15.1 same package, try downloading some other custom rom, i recomend DotOS2.5 or Crdroid4.6.2
4. uncheck enforce md5 bla bla while flashing zip.
i hope you will succeed

After flashing the sybria 9.0 rom into my mix 2, my phone stuck in the fastboot mode.

After flashing the Syberia 9.0 rom into my mix 2, my phone stuck in the fastboot mode. Every time I tried to reboot my phone, my phone will go right into the fastboot mode. I could get into the TWRP, and I perform the 'wipe' serval times.
This is what happens on my phone:
wipe the system---- flash the rom ------ reboot ----- fastboot mode
I don't know what happens with my phone. Pls help me guys:crying:
Could I try to use the official miui fastboot update via the mi flash?
Try installing again with "Clean Flash". Wipe System, Cache/Dalvik and format Data (don't wipe data).
Backup your data first, because your data will destroy.
I believe you should already have the ROM, Firmware and Gapps into internal storage.
Now boot to recovery.
Wipe Data (if u are decrypted, format data)
But be aware that formatting Data means that you have to again copy everything back to internal storage using adb. So my advice is to just wipe and see if that works out.
Install Firmware, ROM and Gapps zip.
Order of installation should be same.
Reboot - 1st boot may take some time.

Phone stuck on loading screen on every rom (even stock)

When i install any ROM my phone is stuck on boot animation, even on stock.
Before flashing process end i got message: detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/system
then i got: Script succeed: result was 1.00000 and everything ends and when i reboot i'm getting stuck on bootloop, ive tried many versions of TWRP and roms and nothing help. Mounting system doesnt help. Please, help me.
Everytime when i flash the ROM the system filesystem changes to EXT4
you do know that the system file system has to be ext4 on most cases if you want to use a custom rom?..
WHEN MOVING TO CUSTOM ROMS NOW:
1. Boot to twrp. (Make sure it is pietwrp from telegram or the official 3.2.3 or later version)
2. Select WIPE menu option
3. Select data partition
4. Change file format to f2fs or anyother.
5. Go back to Start Menu of TWRP, choose Reboot Menu Option
6.Reboot to Recovery
7. Repeat Steps 2 and 3
8. This time select EXT4 when changing file format
9. Do Step 5 and 6
10. Wipe System,Cache and Dalvik-Cache partitions
(not needed anymore: 10.1 If you're on official twrp, you have to flash pietwrp now if you're going to use a pie Custom Rom.!)
11. Flash your Custom Rom, Gapps (optional) and latest Magisk(optional)
12. Wipe Cache and Dalvik-Cache
13. Reboot. First Boot might take a few minutes but never longer than 7minutes.
If it takes longer, you're encountering a so called bootloop.
Comment hear if that happens, containing information on your twrp-version, rom, gapps, magisk and mods(if present) you're using.

Xiaomi Max 3 stuck on boot after Unlock + TWRP Format Data

So here's what I did to cause my phone to get stuck on the logo screen:
1. Unlocked my phone using the Mi Unlock
2. Used ADB to install twrp-3.3.1-0-nitrogen
3. I couldn't mount my Data or SD Card folders due to encryption, so someone told me to use TWRP to format data, which I did. It didn't boot up after that.
I've tried the following fixes:
1. TWRP > Advanced Wipe > Cache / Data / Internal Storage / System
2. TWRP > Install > MIUI 11 V11.0.2.0.PEDCNXM
3. TWRP > Install > MIUI 11 V11.0.3.0.PEDCNXM
4. TWRP > Install > Magisk-v20.4
No luck, still stuck on boot. Anyone kind enough to please help?
I had the same problem when I backed up the global rom with OrangeFox and restarted the system without installing anything.
The following procedure worked for me.
User the latest version of TWRP 3.3.1 do not use OrangeFox
1. First you must remove the encryption, Wipe> Format Data, confirm by typing "yes"
2. Advanced Wipe and clean Dalvik, Cache, Data, System and Vendor.
3. Then proceed with the installation.
In my case I installed xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMAX3_V11.0.2.0.QEDCNXM_v11-10
Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot for the reply!
I somehow managed to get it working with OrangeFox, so I'm going to try it for awhile till it breaks. But I can't seem to pass the SafetyNet Check in Magisk, so I might have to your tips eventually.
What I did was:
1. Use the MI Flash tool + 11.03 CN Fastboot ROM to get out of the boot loop.
2. Loaded OrangeFox-R10.1-stable-nitrogen and Magisk-v20.4 on an SD Card
3. ADB + Fastboot to install twrp-3.3.1-0-nitrogen, then installed OrangeFox
4. Using OrangeFox, installed Magisk-v20.4

I have not yet rooted with magisk on xiaomi.eu so I have no way of giving an opinion on what may have gone wrong in your case.
But did you install the most current magisk from magisk.me and clear the cache?
maybe this video can help you. shows a Brazilian installing orangefox and rooting with magisk in the global rom and everything works, Magisk passes the SafetyNet test. https://youtu.be/O5bq1HMFREI?t=328
