I have a Oneplus 7t from T-Mobile, will I receive system updates even though I'm using a different carrier?
I'd like to stay on the T-Mobile firmware since I like having the option of switching between both the Oneplus Shelf and
Google Discover feed.

So I see that the OnePlus 3 is listed as supporting Band 12 LTE and it looks like the OnePlus 2 did as well (this would be my first OP device). From what I saw though, the OP2 did not support VOLTE on T-Mobile at launch. How did Band 12 support work then, since I believe T-Mobile requires devices to support VOLTE to use Band 12? And does the OP3 support both?
Yes it does support both

Since the Oneplus 3 is an unlocked phone and T-Mobile is one of several carriers that uses Band 12, they can't force Oneplus to disable/remove Band 12 from the phone, so Band 12 will be supported.
Additionally, per the recent AMA thread from Oneplus, the phone is capable of voLTE.
However, what T-Mobile CAN (and almost certainly will) do is prevent the Oneplus Three from being registered as a supported voLTE device on their network until Oneplus completes their costly/time-consuming voLTE certification.
What this basically means is that until OnePlus jumps through T-Mobile's certification hoops, we'll be able to use Band 12 for data, but as soon as we make/receive a call, we'll be kicked down to H or H+ (assuming we have the coverage).

While I understand that they can't force it, the US models of the Nexus 5x and Moto X Pure launched with Band 12 disabled and only received it in a later update.

The Oneplus 2 was reported to have worked on Band 12 the way I previously mentioned more than a month before the Nexus 5X's release date, and Oneplus still lists Band 12 support for the North American Oneplus 3 on their website.
T-Mobile was also happy to sell you the T-Mobile version of the 5X which was certified for band 12.
Additionally, Band 12 is not as much of a T-Mobile monopoly as it was last year. AT&T just started transitioning to Band 12 last fall, announcing in their status update report to the FCC early last October “many of our devices have been sold with Band 12 filters and can be upgraded via software to support Band 12. We will begin the process of transitioning to Band 12 late in 2015 and / or early 2016.”
All things considered, it would make no sense for Oneplus to disable Band 12 this year.
Has anyone flashed generic Pixel XL with factory image meant for "Telstra, Rogers, TMO, Sprint, USCC, Project Fi"? I have a Pixel XL that I got from Google at the time and using it on Rogers Canada. My phone drops LTE to 3G every time I get a phone call (no VoLTE) despite "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" being enabled. I heard unless my Pixel was purchased from Rogers, I won't get VoLTE. I though flashing the carrier specific image would allow VoLTE, but I'm not sure if hardware is compatible.

Hardware is identical. Don't know if it will solve your issue but you certainly should use your carrier specific version.
Well, I decided to try it. Flashed all good, now running Oreo, but VoLTE still MIA

Anyone have a rom that supports vowifi on Verizon? I already tried the logjit. I replaced it with the one from here, it'll toggle on and then back off.
There is pretty tight carrier <-> rom integration for Voice over wifi, so typically not. Verizon is especially finicky when it comes to that.

It's not your phone, it's your network.
Verizon will not allow vowifi on a non-verizon branded phone. Period.
Vowifi on Verizon works on the VZW branded 8, but not on any other version of that phone. Verizon claims that non-branded phones are a security risk because they haven't been through their testing.
I am considering purchasing the OnePlus 9 or 9 Pro. As a longtime T-Mobile customer I want to know if the International version of the phone is 100% compatible with T-Mobile. I have read on some web sites that there are frequency bands missing on the International version that are supported on the T-Mobile version. I would prefer to buy the International version because updates would come sooner. Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks!
Yes, my last 2 Global OnePlus's works great with tmobile usa including 5g...
I used 3T, 5, 6T, 7Pro and 8Pro international version with TMO sim and no issues. All works great (in my area) including 5G. (not sure about the SA band on OnePlus though, only recently updated my sim card and 5G SA works on my international S21 Ultra).
You'll have to make sure you get a model with the right bands when it comes out.
I always buy from the manufacture. The mobile cell providers always have to add their crummy annoying software tweaks.
I do not case which one as long as custom recovery and custom rom are available
I'm also a long time T-Mobile customer, and I will always buy from the manufacturer going forward. T-Mobile puts too much crapware on the phones. I also like to root and mod my device, and it's a real pain to do that on a T-Mobile device.
Been on TMo for ages. Still will alway sbuy the unlocked international version.
anyone who bought Pixel 6P unlocked from Google store and using with at&t, are you getting 5G?
my wife's iPhone 12 gets 5G but Pixel is only showing 5GE which is just LTE. there is no network selection options too.

I have att and bought from Google, but don't have an actual 5G plan, but shows 5Ge. I need to contact them about upgrading plans to see what they could possibly offer me, if anything good at all.
