Hello, I own the SM-G9860 5G and have a Telekom contract with 5G. However, I haven't even received 5G yet. I read that it is due to some missing anchor point. Is there a possibility, e.g. in the UI service menu or otherwise, to activate 5g?
I have install Rom: CHC G9860ZCU3DUD2
thanks

Hey everyone,
So I've got myself the S20 plus G9860 which I believe is the Hong Kong variant, 5G dual SIM etc.
I've noticed I don't have the option for 5G under connection settings.
I'm using EE and have a 5G plan in the UK
EE have dismissed me by saying it's the phone and it being a international model.
Any ideas?
I also don't have the option for e-sim which again is very weird!
Please help

Samsung technical expert on chat said yes,
the modem the phone has seems to indicate it does (unless samsung disable something on the S20 5G specifically to limit it to Sub6 bands only),
https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/exynos/products/modemrf/exynos-modem-5123/
this webite seems to say no (no mmWave bands listed),
https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model/f3e652f5
to add to my confusion the verison S20 5G originally didn't support mmWave until they released the S20 5G UW
I'm in the UK on EE. I just would like to know if the phone can or can't receive mmWave if it was transmitted to it?

I think you're out of luck if you didn't purchase the 5G UW. There is no modem technology currently available that can leverage 5G signals in the sub-6 GHz spectrum and 5G signals in the mmWave spectrum at the same time. You can only get one or the other.

Not so, Verizon released 5G mmWave for the S20, Plus and Ultra devices on June 4th. They're labeled as S20 5G UW Models, other carriers to follow. A couple of drawbacks for the S20 Base Model, you're limited to 8GB of RAM and no MicroSD.

Hello,
Can any one confirm they get 5G on there Samsung Galaxy S20+ G9860 Hong Kong version on the o2 Network? This is with the latest firmware.
I have just moved on to a 5G plan on o2 and whilst in many o2 5G areas I never get 5G. It goes to 4G+ but never 5G. I have a new 5G o2 sim etc....
I'm running on the latest TGY firmware and for a short period changed my CSC to BRI and loaded BRI firmware but didn't make much difference. It never went to 5G.
As soon as I put a 3 network sim in I get 5G on sim slot 1 and 2 all day long in 5G areas.
Does anyone actually get 5G on any phone with o2?
Thanks
I bought the Pixel 6 Pro directly from Japan and use it. Currently, VOLTE is used through the MAGISK patch, but the 5G network is not available. Therefore, I have a question. Isn't there a way for Pixel 6 Pro to use 5G networks in areas where it hasn't been released?
Currently, the support bands for my carrier are N78 and N257
Not yet
Yes it works, for me in Europe, Austria.
I bought the phone in Europe, Germany.
Funnily I get 5G in Austria (where my carrier is) but not in any other countries e.g. Germany.
But that might be due to roaming. No idea.
I bought my s22 ultra (S908U1) from United States and now I'm in my home country but I lost the 5G network because the only bands available here is n77 and n78 and I tried to enable them in my device but I can't. Anyone can help me with that?
