Question Google Screen Call For OP9/9Pro - OnePlus 9 Pro

Hey there guys!
I just wanted to post this in case anybody out there wants to have Google Screen Call feature on their stock phone app.
It's pretty easy to be honest
Since the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro have the google phone apk built in, I had to look at a bunch of info to see how it could work but figured out that it's a lot easier than I thought.
Requirements needed:
-Rooted One Plus 9/ 9Pro
-Termux installed (Play Store)
- Busy Box module installed
-Magisk Hide Props module installed
-PrefEdit installed (Play Store)
1st Step:
Open Termux
Type
su
Click to collapse
Grant root permission
Then Type
props
Click to collapse
If you have enable Device Simulation then skip 2nd step (If not then continue)
2nd Step:
Type in "1" ( to edit device fingerprint)
Type "f" (to pick a certified fingerprint)
After that you are going to choose Google and type the number it corresponds to ( Mine was 7)
It will show you a bunch of phones.
Just find the Pixel 4 XL and type the number it corresponds to ( mine was 23)
In reality I don't think it matters which phone you use just make sure it was a pixel phone that has screen call built in.
It's going to be give you some options of which OS version you want
I chose android 11 just to be sure
Type
2
Click to collapse
Then it will ask you if you want to reboot
Type in "y" to finish the 2nd Step
3rd step:
Open Termux again and redo 1st step
once your on the page it should say "device Fingerprint (active)"
Type
2
Click to collapse
The next page will show you a bunch of options that you can enable.
The ones you need to enable are-
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10
Click to collapse
(DON'T enable "8") I accidentally enabled it and screen call didn't work
once it says it's finished Type in "y"
then it will reboot
4th Step:
Once your phone has booted up
you need to go to settings then apps and clear phone data and cache
then find Google Play services and clear data and cache
After that open the phone app and go to settings to see if screen call feature is there
If it isn't showing up then you'll need to use PrefEdit
Close the phone app (if you haven't already)
Open PrefEdit and find Phone
It should show you like 5 files
Choose dialer
Once there tap on "dialer_phenotype_flags.xml"
then search for "speak"
Find this code line
G_speak_easy_bypass_locale_check
Click to collapse
tap on it and change it from false to true
then tap the save button
Now you're finished!!
Things to note once you go back to the phone app you'll need to be on Wifi to enable the feature.
If you have any questions just let me know and I'll help you out as best I can !
I will post ScreenShots of what to do if you need to see how yours should look like.

Outstanding guide ty!

Have this option already without any mods.

Very nice guide! Man, I'm super conflicted. I'd love to have the screen call feature, but I'm already using the OP dialer for call recording. No way to have the best of both worlds I guess.

Hey that's a really good guide. And a good way to get that feature. But can u not still go back and just change the flags??? And make it work with out changing the fingerprint?

I don't know. I have the EU Version and I am from Germany. This feature may already be officially available here in Germany. I have no other explanation for this.

I'm translating so I could be wrong but pretty sure that's "Caller-ID and Spam" which is the option you get when you don't have Call Screening. So you don't actually have Call Screening I believe.

I tried an older method that worked on my 7t and it's now working but it had to be done on an older google dialer ver 39.270.
It's not the fancy newer version but it works

Going to add to this, if it doesn't show up in your dialer settings, clear the cache from both your Phone app and from Google Play Services, then open the Phone app again, and wait a few minutes if you still don't see it. Once you do, toggle it and see if your basic phone functions are still working. Believe it or not, some people's microphones wouldn't work with this trick in effect.
And now a rant of sorts.
The problem with this process is that in doing such, you are tricking not only the Google Phone application into thinking you're running actual Pixel hardware, but everything else, too. So this opens a whole can of worms when it comes to things like software/OOS updates, kernels, Magisk modules, etc.
For example, Elemental Kernel refused to install on my OP 7T because it was identifying itself as a "Pixel 4a." And even then, while I did get call screening to work, briefly, having to revert the changes to update things, then redo the changes, and hope they stick again.... wasn't worth it for me to do all that. I just wish we could officially get their call screening technology on EVERY Google device. Or at least ones that can use the Google Dialer framework.
So be prepared for a lot of troubleshooting and frustration. You may have to ask yourself if this is worth it.

Ty so much for this. I finally had time to do it. But the weirdest thing happened it never showed the screen option or hold for me option. But like 9 hours later I used my phone and there it was setting up.

Is it possible to enable call recording with this method as well?
according to the link, call recording should be integrated in the dialer starting vom version v63:
OnePlus exploring adding automatic call recording support in India
OnePlus devices don't support automatic call recording, but this may change in future in India, at least according to a staff member.

So I've tried this a numerous amount of times with zero luck on firmware 11.2.4.4. does anyone have any ideas as to why it's not working for me?

Could you explain? Which part is failing? What isn't working? The call screen part? The dialer?

never hide softkeys

Hi,
i've tried to do a few searches but can't find anything about SHOWING the soft keys all the time.
See the thing is, this phone is for the mother-in-law and she's 71 so it needs to be as simple as possible. She wants to play games like temple run but doesn't understand the concept of swipe the top to get the home button to show up so I'd like to have the bottom bar always visible, even in immersive mode.
Any ideas please?
Cheers
I should probably include that it's stock 14.6.A.0.368 (this probably needs updating, but I'm looking for how to do that at the moment and confusing myself lol) and is rooted.
Xposed module 'App Settings' - go to the app you want, full-screen>prevent. I think you have to do it for each one. You probably can force it across the board with build prop, but I think the other way is best.
I can cope with that... Is there an easy guide for my firmware version to install xposed? I don't want to brick it again lol
Cheers

Flash this in recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3580244&d=1450386592 Then install this apk - http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3383776&d=1435601440 Then open Xposed app and go to 'download' and search for 'app settings'. Note that the first boot after flashing the zip will be long and finish with 'optimizing apps' dialog, which will take several minutes. Make sure your battery level is good.
Always a good idea to backup first.

Oh yeah, and any time you install a new module in Xposed, it won't be active until you reboot.
Absolutely smashing, thanks. I've flashed the zip and now I'm waiting for it to load up, then I'll install the apk and find the module.

Strange... Is the module working in general? Did you check the box in 'modules' screen in Xposed? I tested it on several apps and it was good...
I don't think so... It's ticked and I've rebooted and all that. The Adblocker module I found is working fine. Strange.
Perhaps I'm missing something. Any suggestions please? lol!! It's winding me up big time :/

Are you sure? Reading the description that seems to do the opposite to what I want?
I want the navigation bar to be visible even in full screen mode. The girlfriend's mum can't grasp the concept of swipe to show the navigation and she keeps forgetting when we tell her, so by having it always visible we remove that obstacle

There's a 'blacklist' function which you can apply to chosen apps. I can't say if it will work on your specific game or not. The Xoosed module I mentioned works great for me with Camera, but I guess it didn't work for your game. I think with play store you can return a purchase within 15 minutes or something...
Don't know how I missed that. I'll give it a bash, Many thanks!

Well, after some reading, it seems clear that it is coded into the programming, and you'd have to rewrite the ROM to entirely disable it. From app to app, you probably could decompile and mod the apk so it doesn't call on the function. I did read that Gravity Box from Xposed has an immersive mode toggle, but I can't test it, since GB doesn't work on CM ROM. Check that out.
Thanks for your help so far. I tried GB but it didn't work either. Bloody annoying.
Perhaps another approach would be double tap the power switch to return home? Do you know if something like this exists please?
Thanks again for all the input and suggestions so far.

Hey I just discovered UDN (ultimate dynamic navbar). Install it, go to ssettings>general>special modes. Check 'toggle mode' and uncheck 'hide on outside touch'. The navbar will never go away. The only problem is that it sits Right there over anything else, blocking whatever you might want to touch down there, so maybe not a total fix. How eve, there's also more configurations you can mess with that might at least be an improvement.

Control your AOD (LED alternative - Automate flow)

Hi all,
I am also missing a notification LED for incoming messages et al.
Well, the following might be of interest for some of you. Let me explain: I took a closer look at Automate and the flows provided by the user community there. Unfortunately all the flows for controlling the AOD there do support Samsung and LG devices only. By chance I stumbled across the correct name for the Huawei-specific variable that needs to be triggered. So, I took a working flow for LG, simply replaced the variable's name and voila, a working flow, without the need for root or something.
And it works like this: each time an incomming message (or something similar) triggers a notification, the stock AOD gets switched on, showing you the usual clock and notification icon. As soon as you are disabling the notification (by reading the message etc. pp.) the AOD gets switched off again. This works quite well, saves some battery (compared to having AOD constantly on), and you can clearly see when a new message arrives. I also didn't need to put Automate in the battery white list, it simply works as intended.
The necessary steps to get this working are as follows:
Install Automate from play store
Install the Automate extensions "network permissions", "settings permissions" and "superuser permissions" (the latter does not need root for granting the permissions indeed)
Enable "superuser permissions" via adb:
Code:
adb shell pm grant com.llamalab.automate.ext.superuser android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS
Switch off the AOD functionality in your devices settings
Download the (zipped) flow I have attached to this post and install it
Start the flow and grant the permissions you are asked for
If you use flow v01 switch off the logging of that flow, there are tons of data generated while the device is plugged in via USB, flow v02 works fine with loggin enabled
Enable "Automate" in Settings -> Accessibility features -> Accessibility -> Downloaded Services
I have been running this solution since late November. For me it runs smoothly, stable and battery friendly. Maybe it's also helpful for some of you. Just let me know when you have questions.
Disclaimer: I have published the flow on 25th November at android-hilfe.de and in the Automate community only recently.
Cheers.
Update:
@RoteDose has been so kind and had a closer look at the old flow and completely reworked the power charging check, so there's no log flooding anymore. So he created a v02, that I have attached here now. Thanks a bunch for your support, mate!
To do: research for AOD icons to be refreshed after disabling the notification
- Found a list of Huawei specific settings here.
- And you can list the settings by
Code:
adb shell settings list system|global|secure

You can download to your phone the file "Huawei AOD switch.zip" I attached and unpack it to a path of your choice. In the Automate app you can import the unpacked "*.flo" file through the dots menu on the top right. You are then able to give permissions, switch logging and start/stop the flow.
Hope this helps. Just let me know. Cheers.
Is there anything else to do after the upload? Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. I get a notification and nothing happens. But when I turn on the screen and lock the AOD shows. But that's not how it's supposed to work.

Its not working o my P30, Emui 10. I followed instruction everything allowed, AOD stock deactivated, but nothing......Automate works fine, flow is active, but...… What could be wrong......
First of all, thank you for this solution.
But I have a little problem. I don't know why, but for me doesn't work :/
AOD switched off -> started the flow (granted all the permissions) -> lock the screen -> i got a message (the phone vibrated), but the AOD doesn't switch on -> unlock the phone, just to the home screen (doesn't read the message) and lock again -> and now the AOD is switched on
The problem is solved.
Just need to enable this:
Settings -> Accessibility features -> Accessibility -> scroll down and enable Automate

I don't think so. At least here it's all fine. Automate is not even in the battery saver white list, and going to sleep perfectly. Also, I detected no CPU wakelocks.
Yes, I checked too. The consumption of battery by Automata is minor.

Question Did you know about this double tap feature?

If you enable QuickTap, in the settings app, you can tap the back of your phone to either open an app of your choice or preform a selected command. I am like mind blown right now.
This thread is a PSA for others like me.

It is cool.. when it works. lol. There have been multiple reports, myself included, that observes at times it just craps out. Then you have to go into settings, back out and it works again. Frustrating but I do believe there is a fix coming soon if it's not here already in the mid Nov update. Nonetheless, I saw this back in early November right before I got the device and then watched it again once I could follow along. It's a long YouTube video but the double tap is in there along with a bunch of other cool tweaks.

Themes / Apps / Mods Solution for non-functioning proximity sensor (for GSIs)

11/05/2022: UPDATED the instructions and the rules.
NOTICE: This method is no longer relevant for the U2-baseband firmware and Android 13-based GSIs, they should work out of the box.
After a couple of weeks of the real-world use of SM-A325 with LineageOS GSI installed, I've found that the phone has no real proximity sensor and that's a real problem. The so called "virtual" proximity sensor mentioned by Samsung is obviously just an emulation done by reading the tilt sensor (vertical position) and the touchscreen (touch anywhere in the upper half).
Almost all of the GSIs use the generic Call app, so just a slight accidental touch with your ear or finger and you can have a whole bunch of functions activated. There is a solution though:
Install the "Automation" app (open-source) by Jens Schröder
Go to the "Rules" tab and press "Add Rule"
Give the new rule some name (e.g. "Turn screen off during call")
Press "Add trigger", "Phone call", "State" = "started", "Call direction" = "any". Press "Save".
Press "Add action", "Turn screen on or off", "Deactivate"
"Save Rule"
If the rule is marked with the yellow dot go to the "Overview" tab, start the service and give the needed permissions
Also press "Control center", "Settings" and make sure that "Start at system boot" is checked.
And another, mode advanced version (if that's too complicated you can just import the attached settings file):
Go to the "Rules" tab and press "Add Rule"
Give the new rule some name (e.g. "Turn screen off during call")
Press "Add trigger", "Phone call", "State" = "started", "Call direction" = "any". Press "Save".
Press "Add trigger", "Device orientation"
Position the phone vertically (Pitch = 0±5) and press "Apply"
Enter tolerances: 180, 70, 180
"Must apply" checked
Press "Save"
Press "Add trigger", "Screen state", "on"
Press "Add action", "Turn screen on or off", "Deactivate"
"Save Rule"
I recommend setting "Signal frequency" in "Device orientation settings" in the settings to 500 ms. This way there will be much lesser chance of lag when phone is lifted up to the ear, while the battery consumption by the Automation app will still remain negligible.
That's it. Now when you receive a call the screen will be turned off. You can turn it on during the call by pressing the side button, the call will not be interruped. When using the advanced version of the rules the side button works only when the device is held horizontally, unfortunately there is no way to improve this but I think that is a very minor issue (or just use the simple version instead).
Updated rules, working with Automation v1.7.6.
This causes an issue in video calling on whatsapp where the phone turns the screen off again and again.

Try the rule that I am using now. It's much simpler and much more reliable. If it does not work for you then probably this solution is just incompatible with WhatsApp. BTW, I am not using it and don't recommend to anyone as it's the privacy-violating app.

It seems that this problem is no longer present at least with the latest Android 13 stock firmware (A325FXXU2CVK3) or even slightly older used together with LineageOS 20.0 or even 19.0. Using the Android 13 firmware also cures another long-standing issue - the non-functional MTP file transfer. Analyzing the kernel source reveals that Samsung obviously abandoned their own f_mtp_samsung driver in favor of the standard f_mtp.

Hmm. I'm currently using Lineage 20.0 (td version) installed upon the unaltered A325FXXU2CVK3 firmware and I didn't notice any difference in performance.

Hi! First of all sorry for my mechanic English hehehe.
I just broke my proximity sensor cause water... , Now im trying this method but I have a question.
Exist some way to put audio in the calls speaker ( the topside speaker used in calls)? For example, I want to listen some Whatsapp audio in private.
I want to put the smartphone on my ear and then automation change the speaker, besides turn off the screen.
I didn't saw any option, just the script option that I don't know how to use it and the "boardcast" option that i dont know how to use it neither.
Thanks in advance.

I am sure that Automation can't do that, changing whatever speaker is used for sound output is ruled entirely by the particular phone app.

Question OnePlus 9 Pro LE2123 Android 12.1 C64 Problems.

OnePlus 9 Pro LE2123 Android 12.1 C64
Friends, help me.
For over a year, after switching to Adroid 12, only problems. I already wrote about it on the OnePlus forum, but as a rule there are only mocks that I can't use my phone to reset, clear the cache, etc. It doesn't help.
On the phone not working:
1. The photo has no latitude and longitude. There is only the name of the street (and the wrong one, the
neighboring one).
There is no Google Minimap as before.
2. The Task Manager does not close all open applications. There is always one left. And this is extremely
stressful.
3. In a private safe, the photos do not rotate horizontally.
4. Step counter counts steps. There are no kilometers under the step counter.
5. When touched, the phone does not show the current time. You have to tap 2x hard for it to display the time.
6. The notification sound of SMS, washing machine, dryer, coffee machine is the same.
This is pathetic and abnormal!
I tried by all means to assign the sounds in A12. I have not found a way.
Is there any way to fix this?
I don't want to go back in development and go back to Android 11.

The downgrade is very simple. But Android protection will be old
Go for a custom ROM, AOSP these days is very stable. u can even get the android 13 rom already from StagOS or Xtended (if u want more customizations, as the stagos team didn't fill in the horns yet) which r more stable than the OOS 12.

For the task manager problem if u do cancel all at the home screen at least for me it close all the apps. If u do swipe up for task manager when u are in an app this one not get closed. If u see a little padlocks in the top left corner near the apps in task manager u need to unlock for close it with the clear all button.
For the last problem idk.

Would you consider using OnePlus warranty to repair/replace your phone?
Wondering which country you're in? I'm completely stock too LE2123 A12 and am on C62. I haven't received the C64 update.

Recently, I was thinking about putting my phone in for warranty repair. Problems with the proper operation of the application began with changing A11 to A12. I went very far after these problems until the first version of A11 that is to: OnePlus9ProOxygen_22.E.08_OTA_0080_all_2105011323 The phone was updated OTA up to version A12 C: 44. That's when the problems started. I did this cycle 2x. Always after C: 44 the phone lost these 5 functions. So it's not C: 64's fault. C: 64 suggested Oxygen Udater. I installed hoping that all bugs would eventually disappear. Unfortunately not. Everything worked fine when I returned to A11, except for the old Android security.

It's good that you're fully stock, I don't know how OnePlus would feel about updating your phone via oxygen updater.
Would you consider putting your phone in for warranty, before you do find the truth about if OnePlus would accept your phone with C64.

This is indicates a deeper issue, I am out of options of where to signpost you. Do some research to see OnePlus are ok with users using the OnePlus updater. Then when you have proof you can contact support.

Very thanks AndyC76!!!
I did a downgrade to the factory version.
Via OTA I came to C.
However, all 6 issues persisted.
There is still a bad taste in using the OP 9 Pro.
