I am using firmware Masik x 14.0, Anrodid 10.
It has a stock RCSService (com.qualcomm.qti.uceShimService).
I also use Google Messages as a stock app to send SMS.
The phone has com.google.android.ims (Carrier Services) installed.
The RCS for Google Messaging needs to be running. But it turns out I have two services, one stock from Qualcomm, the second from Google included with the Carrier Service. I need to get rid of duplicate RCS and disable one of the services.
Is it better to disable Carrier Services or RCSService?
Again, I need RSC to work.
But there are duplicate functions.

What are the following services? I see them running all of the time (without starting them on my own and after a reboot):
- Verizon Location Agent
- Sync service
Also, I know what the following are but they seem to be starting on their own, even after I've logged out/disabled the obvious settings:
- Messenger (Facebook Messenger)
- Amazon (Amazon Appstore)
- Google Play Music
- Google Play Store

Sync service is the VZW backup thing. Location agent, probably an NSA thing.
The rest are just bloatware that hogs resources.

Is there a way to disable stock apps? I don't know why the VZW backup thing is trying to run, I haven't configured it.

You don't need to configure it to run for it to be running.
You can only disable preinstalled apps/services with root.

You can go into the settings, applications, then all. Click on whatever application you want and press disable. There are very few that won't let you do it. Not sure if that's what you meant but maybe.

I have been reading about Google play and different issues with Google services. I will be receiving the phone tomorrow. Google voice (for the voice-mail and transcribed messages) and Gmail are the only 2 apps from google I care about. Anyone have Google Voice working ?
If so how did you enable it.
Thanks!!
It works ok with play services uninstalled. It never was totally reliable though. About 60% of the time it works, the rest of my calls just go out through the cell provider directly. Also you have to keep it open either manually or with an app as it closes down after a while. On my last android phone it worked at least 90% and it didn't have to be watched constantly.
If you rely on anything google, I would just forget this phone though. It is nearly 2 weeks since the play services update and no word or update from google. Without constant fiddling, my gmail, hangouts, and play store are always broken.
Depends
Depends on your setup. If you are using Gvoice with hangouts, be prepared to be frustrated! If you are using Gvoice stand alone, it will work after a few tries.
Hangouts:
Had it working fine with play services 7.0.9 and Fire OS 3.6.8. I did the manual update to 4.6.1 and it all went to hell.. I gained a bunch of functionality but because I use Gvoice integrated in Hangouts I am constantly having issues. Issues ranging from play services updating all the time and causing notifications, sync and reply to all not work, making it useless.
If you are using Gvoice stand alone, it took me a few tires to get outgoing calls to route through Gvoice.. Download and install the Gvoice app, set it for the call settings you want. I had to do this a couple times before those settings stuck.
Until the play services are fixed this is going to be frustrating. I don't see an end in sight right now seeing as it has been this long and I see no official talk about it.

Well the problem here will be that play services is causing us a lot of problems since the update. Other than that I can't imagine it being a problem. I don't install the Google voice app anymore since I forward the calls and Hangouts does work to make calls from voice number. I can vouch for that.
I got the phone, was able to get google voice installed (had to remove the store afterwards) But it will only show new messages when I open the app, there are no notification.
Is it possible to get notifications ?
Working !!!
Had to re-associate phone with Google voice and then notifications would pop up

Hi there. I would like to switch the Google Account on my LG G3, but I am facing some issues when I do that.
Firstly, the GA I used to setup the phone in the store will show all default stock and Verizon apps under Play Store->My Apps. It will also allow me to "Update All" and have the apps set to Auto-Update.
I went and did a factory reset, having made a new GA account on my laptop to use. I input the new GA on the initial setup, but here is where the issue is....under Play Store->My Apps it doesn't show a single app, stock Android apps or Verizon apps. I am unable to "Update All" or even set them to auto-update, though I do have "Update over wifi only" set and I am on wifi.
Browsing for one of the stock apps, like Google Chrome, will allow me to manual update and then it will show in "Installed/All" apps. With the new GA, I am also unable to update the Google Play services.
Doing another factory reset and putting in my old GA will act normally. I can see every single app, stock Android and Verizon. I can update them all, including Google Play services.
Is there any way to get my new Google Account to allow me to do the things I do with my former one?
Has anyone had any luck getting VVM working on the Google Phone app? I prefer the Google Phone app over the stock LG app because I was able to us VVM on my S5 with Lineage OS. I've disabled and then removed the Tmobile VVM app and disable the Tmobile app. The Google Phone app is the default app for phone calls and I can't find any voicemail settings in the LG settings app. I've even tried Googles help files help files that tell you how to set it up for Tmobile but it's missing a few settings.
Howdy,
I've got a AL-00, and it has built-in Google Play Services version 20.04.14 (120408-294335909). I've grabbed an APK of Google Play Market version 16.2.25-all [0] [PR] 263465627 from ApkMirror. That's a 32-bit universal architecture image listed as armeabi + armeabi-v7a + mips + mips64 + x86 + x86_64.
I know, that's quite an old version, but it the only I've tried that worked stable. For some reason, all other packages that I've tried over at ApkMirror were classified by package installer as not having passed verification in Huawei Appgallery. Could it be that these packages were tampered with? Or does it only mean that their checksums (or root root certificate?) were not present in ApkGallery?
My internet and my cell provider are having problems with Google services. If I open Google.com from any of my devices, Google.com raises CAPTCHA test which I have to pass before I'm able to access Google search.
All Google apps that I've installed by using the Google Play Store that was installed from the APK dl'ed from ApkMirror are having problems connecting to Google Services. Some apps like Google Pay are having problems to start, others, like Google Chrome or Google Maps are having issues with synchronization of my Google account. If I open account profile, from any of the Google apps, I get the cloud icon shown indicating that Google services or servers are not reachable.
However. These connectivity issues I only experience when connecting though one specific mobile provider. If I route the Huawei EVR-AL00 phone via shared connection from another cellular provider, I can open Google.com in the browser without having to solve CAPTCHAsl tests, and I don't experience connectivity and synchronization issues with Google apps on Huawei EVR-AL00.
So far I see it so I could've solved my synchronization issues by simply switching from my current cell provider that get filtered by Google to another one. Meanwhile, it looks like I could've stayed with my current blacklisted provider if I could find a proper untouched APK of Google Play Store that fully matches version of Google Play Services shipped with EVR-AL00. Where do I get the properly signed APK of Google Play Store with version and architecture matching those used in built-in Google Play Services and Google Services Framework?
Why do I feel that using non-genuine Google Play Store may be the root cause? If I use one of my non-Huawei phones and connect through this my blacklisted provider, I DON'T EVER get a CAPTCHA from Google if I type search requests right in the Chrome address bar without opening Google.com first. Quite the contrary, if I open Google.com first, I ALWAYS get CAPTCHA test from Google before I can do my searches. It looks like requests sent from the Google device (that's a device with a clean Android) are somehow signed by Google components before they get sent to Google.
Since I'm using non-genuine Google Pay Store (installed from unsigned? self-signed? APK), I suppose that Google treats every connection request
to Google servers issues from my Huawei EVR-AL00 phone as untrusted. That renders my Google apps to fail to connect and as a result I get account synchronization issues.
I expect if I could a proper signed Google Play Store APK that matches Google Play Services shipped with the Huawei phone, this would've solved connectivity issues and fix sync problems for me.
Thank you in advance.
But can you still ude playstore in L29 version?
