Hey, did anyone install gcam on his UI 3.1 from Hongkong?
I am curious if all lenses work in gcam, samsung removed raw support from exynos front. So it may be also bad for snapdragon...

Maybe better to test yourself (if you have this device) and report back.

Can't do, once 3.1 is loaded it cannot be downgraded to 2.5 or 2.1 where gcam works fully.

Hey guys, really considering the S9 but will likely be modding it a bit.
If anyone's got it and doesn't mind testing quickly, does Gcam HDR+ work on either SD or Exynos variants? I believe the one from this thread is the most up-to-date.
Seriously hoping we'll eventually be able to pick which aperture to use in Gcam

Visit this site and download every version of the app. I am using on my LG G5 and it's working very well. I have tested it on samsung galaxy s7 with exynos and also worked very well.

Thanks, but yeah I have tested extensively on my S7 and know how well it works. I was just wondering if it works as well on the S9, which I don't have.
Doesnt work... Just tested it on Exynos 9+
Latest version (V8) force closes. However, version 7 seems to work fine.
Thanks for testing guys. I just bought mine so will post my tests after Tuesday.
I just get a black screen when trying pretty much any settings combo, what settings are you using?

Same here. V8 and recently released 8.1 FC immediately on the S9+, but V7 works fine.

I don't use it. It was merely for testing purposes. I've always been happy with Samsung's stock camera.
I think GCam works way better with Snapdragon models.

what makes you think that?
I have heard it was working better on exynos most of the time
unless you are talking about only s9
The one I use is MGC_5.1.016_7.0+C2API_v.1.3c_AllinOne.apk, HDR+ works fine and makes a noticable difference in certain scenarios, best of both
All others with portrait mode enabled either black screen or force close.

Unfortunately i don't take that many photos, they're mostly of my dog
It works well enough for me on the Exynos s9 plus but i can;t compare to the s7
No portrait mode currently
That port doesnt apply post processing...
Not any works in Galaxy s9 like the miniuser one in s8
I tried some version from the site and that you all said on the s9+ exynos but very buggy and almost dont work...
there is some stable version+settings that work well?with portrait and all?
the samsung camera app is suck in term of colors and some "pop"
I just sold my Exynos Ultra. The reason was the camera which for anything that moves even a little was just not very good. ZGCAM based on GCAM version 6 worked ok ish if a little slow but of course no v7 on Exynos yet.
I have had half an eye on a snapdragon one but looking on the interweb there does not seem to be a lot of traffic relating to a GCAM. I know that the 865 is a newer chip than the Pixel which may play a part.
So is there a good GCAM on the Snapdragon? Either plus or Ultra.

Hi,
I am going to buy S20 FE Exynos version (only Exynos version is available in India).
Though I know the Samsung's stock camera works best, I absolutely in love with GCAM.
If someone knows where should we find the latest Gcam version for Exynos. It would be a great help for all of the Exynos owners.
Waiting to listen from any of you.....!!
I've only seen gcam for the snapdragon. None for Exynos

Here is a link that has many gcam variations. I have tried several, but none of them seem to support the telephoto correctly. In the ones that provide options for aux cameras, the tele button actually loads to the wide angle camera instead of zoom.

I've had the best success with Urnyx and Arnova with the former being the better. Some of the other ones that I've tried force close.

The Urnyx05 7.2 GCam is the only stable one for me.
EDIT: on S20 FE 5G with SD865. Only working sensor is the main, but it's stable.
Installed "GCam 7.4 for Galaxy S20 FE 5G (Exynos)
GCam 7.4 by Zoran –"
Works good on exynos non 5g version. Night mode is way better and faster on gcam!
Try zgcam

I just found out how to enable the other lenses and tested them. Enabling the aux lenses WILL crash the app and you have to Clear Data to get it back. Otherwise, normal lens, portrait, night sight, astro, front camera, video, optical video stabilization, all work and is stable.

Make sure to use the 6.1 version instead of the 7.1 version. It works much better and has better photo quality. Doesn't support ultrawide/telephoto but good for daylight/lowlight photos and especially good for portraits. Wouldn't recommend video recording or anything else. For night-mode you can just use the stock camera which will do a decent job.
I just tested and seems like ultra wide, main, and selfie all work including in RAW (although ultra wide is mapped to 2x). Tele crashes, which is unfortunate since that's the one I want

Urnyx's 7.3 v2.2.
For some reason it saves the ultra-wide raw but Lightroom fails to import. Front camera is all good though.
Has anyone gotten Astrophotography to actually work?
S20 FE Snapdragon using Urnyx05 version 2.4 (tried a few other versions also). Night Sight works, but Astro never kicks in, with phone completely still in the dark. I see it says some devices will not show the Astro tag, but I never get a long exposure as expected.
Also I do not have the settings under 'advanced' that seem to be needed to enable it (Astro) have tried a few diff .xml files but none seem to change anything.
Curious to know what .xml or .apk anyone is using that actually has Astrophotography working.
Thanks.
Any updates? How usable is the GCam port on the S20 FE? Also do selfie photos even work? I read that Samsung "blocked" GCam port apps from taking photos with the front-facing camera.
Hello,
I am trying to stick with OTA updates with this device. Has anyone in the UK received the update? Previous updates have been quick to come through, but there is no sign of this one.
Also, for the European version (non snapdragon), are there camera improvements with this update?
I have an unlocked Note 10+ 5G (N976B) in the UK and got the update this morning. No real big changes. Just a security update and performance/stability improvements.
Yep, got it. No mention of camera improvements like the snapdragon variant
I use the GCam port the majority of the time so not too bothered about the camera. I'm not that impressed with the picture quality from stock camera in any case. The difference between the Snapdragon and Exynos variants is a discussion in itself. If the stock camera had a bit more customisation over image compression and produced outputs similar to GCam I would gladly use it. I'm aware there is the zero cam mod but like you, I want to stay stock and get OTA updates. I'm very familiar with rooting having had Pixel and OnePlus phones in the past. Samsung provides quite a bit of customisation now so root is not really needed to do some things the majority of the time.
I've been feeling that the battery has immensely improved on the latest OTA update (Oct patch) - Exynos model.

I am using ZGCam 7.4. I don't think I am allowed to link telegram groups but you can find the group if you do a search on telegram. The group is called "ZExynos Lounge ZGCam 7.4". There is a group for the ZGCam 6.1 port also.
S21 FE 5G Exynos 2100 GCAM recommendation that is stable for its processor ?

front camera not working.
There is none. Not even for the snapdragon version (which is the better edition imo and better supported by gcam) so the alternative edition (exynos) is out of luck as well.
For some reason this phone does not seem to be compatible with gcam and no one is working on it. Of course people are posting config files and claiming some versions work, but they don't.
It is not a working version if the main lens, or any lens is not usable, or if the viewfinder freezes after 2 seconds or if HDR doesn't work.
Of course it would work without HDR or image enhancing, but that would really ruin the point. The point of gcam Is that it's image optimization let's it make better photos than stock camera. If you disable image optimization because you cannot give it sensor hardware access then it is just a regular camera app, called gcam, nothing more.
