How to block apps from starting during Boot - MTCD Android Head Units General

Hello everyone,
I have a PX5 with MTCE_MX2 MCU and Android 10 head Unit installed on my car.
Whenever I turn the ignition on and the head unit starts, I get two applications start immediately.
"Music" and "DVD". I tried to disable them under settings, but I don't have that option.
I have even reset the default apps, but that didn't do the trick either.
May I ask, if you know of any way to block these apps from starting during the head unit's boot?
Many thanks for your replies.

PowerAmp on KLD Head Unit Autostarting every time.

I reinstalled Android on my KLD head unit today, and redownloaded PowerAmp to play my media files.
This time, however, it insists on running every time the radio reboots or turns on. I know these firmwares like to launch "last running" apps sometimes if they've fully turned off, but something else is going on here. I can make sure to completely exit PowerAmp. But whenever I restart my car after it's been off, or reboot the head unit in any way, when it finished booting up, it goes right back to PowerAmp and starts playing again.
I do not have an autostart config setup, and I've checked everything in the options and can't figure out how to make it fscking stop loading every time I start my car.
So for now I've uninstalled PowerAmp. Does anyone have advice how I can have it actually installed but not load itself every time my device reboots?
Also check the setting to do with starting player on card detection (I think it's in android settings somewhere)

Is it possible to install a different overlay?

Hi, I have recently installed an Xtrons car stereo running Android KitKat 4.4, there are a few annoying issues with it like when it boots up its always automatically starts on a static channel, the time resets back to 00:00 every time I turn the car off and a few other minor things. Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to install a different overlay of Android like you can on a phone, or are there any decent ones out there?
Thanks for any help offered

You have not wired the unit in correctly. You need to give the unit a permanent power feed to it remembers time and settings.

Disable App Kill on standby?

Running a Px5 android 8.0 unit from Eonon running Malysk rom.
From what I understand, these units do a "shutdown" sequence when the car ignition is shut off. As far as it looks to me, a service is just closing open apps and going to sleep/standy. When ignition is turned back on, the OS resumes and re-opens last focused app.
This function is great for obvious reasons to prevent wake-locks, wake-events, etc and also very inconvenient for even more obvious reasons. Spotify app doesn't seem to like being killed unexpectedly and 1/100 resumes, the app resets itself and needs to be logged back in, content needs redownloaded, etc.
Is there such a way to disable app-killing upon ignition-off ? How can we modify this service?

Yes, question asked before. Suggest modded hal9k room or search forums for how to mod app kill.

Disable Android Auto

I have a OnePlus 7 pro phone, with Android 10, and my car is has an XTRONS head unit running the Malaysk rom with Android 9.
Does anyone know how to disable android auto from starting every time I connect via Bluetooth? None of the posts (solutions) online work, or are even available for me to try (menus aren't there, etc.).
Help?!
how did you even get it to work via bluetooth to start with!
Great question! I didn't do anything specifically to enable it. But every time I Bluetooth connect to my head unit, it starts Android Auto on my phone. DRIVING ME NUTS.
Is this a OnePlus-specific feature?
In XTRONS the Android Auto is called MultiPlay. There is a way to disable MultiPlay. settings -- car -- Factory settings(126) -- other -- car play --Choose "no"--apply-- Exit -> reboot by holding rst hardware button for 10s.

Its still not Android auto...
Are you sure that Android Auto is starting? My Xiaomi Mi 10T only starts some kind of a welcome message "Android Auto is available in this car, do you want to connect?" when I am linked to the bluetooth...

Ok, could be, but in my Xtrons headunit it's acting like Android Auto though it's called MultiPlay, and working fine. Android Auto, as an app is not visible in the app-overview. Why should that be this way?
@Klussenpunt - Thanks for the insight! I found the setting under Factory Settings, and turned it off, but my phone still does the same thing. I have taken these (extreme) measures with no luck:
Disabled the factory setting (as you pointed out)
Unpaired my phone and deleted it from the head unit
Booted my Android head unit into recovery, wiped EVERYTHING and restarted
Verified that the factory setting is still set to No/Off
Re-paired my phone
I still get Android Auto launched on my phone when I connect. UGH.
Does anyone have any other thoughts on why this keeps happening?

Have you tried removing the cache and memory from the Android Auto app in your phone, after that you can disable Android Auto making contact with new Android Auto requests.
@Klussenpunt - That idea (removing cache/memory) was what got me to my final answer. It dawned on me that if I could find the "app" in my android settings (because Android Auto doesn't show as a normal app, it is hidden) then I could disable it.
Sure enough, I was able to get to the list of apps and services installed, found it, and did two things:
Removed all cache and storage
Disabled the service
Boom! Now when my phone connects via bluetooth, the Android Auto mode does not start up.
Thanks soooo much!

What was the app name? Multiplay or Android Auto?

On my Samsung Note 9, the app is just listed as Android Auto in the normal apps. Depending on your device, you may have to check the option to view all system apps in order to see and disable it?

Android HU forgets radio channels after powercycle

Hi all,
A couple of months ago I bought a second hand car with a Android head unit. It's a pretty old rk3188, MTCD_MX_V2.59, Android 5.1.1. 1024MB. I have been reading quite a lot on this forum to get introduced into the magical world of MCUs and ROMs
The unit was full of apps and very slow. My goal is just to use it for radio and Android Auto. So I did a factory reset of the unit, and bought an Android Auto USB dongle. I am satisfied with the boot time and with Android Auto.
There is just one thing that is quite bothersome. If I set radio channels in the standard Radio app (find a frequency, and then hold a pre-set button until it displays the current frequency) this works fine for the rest of the drive. However, this configuration sometimes becomes lost. I think after the unit has been powered off for a full day or something. Mostly if I shut down the car, and start it again within an hour, the radio channels are still there. If the configuration is lost, it is lost forever, and I have to manually set the pre-set buttons again.
Does this issue sound familiar to anyone? Thanks a lot for you help!
edit: oops, I should have posted this in the MTCD section..
