I have an exynos s20 and when I look for networks that are out there and reachable with other devices, wifi manager does not show these networks. On the other hand when I use some network connection apps such as Wifi Connection Manager, I can see these networks which means my phone has a working wireless card. It seems like this is not a hardware issue but a software one. I am running android 11 with One UI 3.1. I have this issue since I had purchased the phone and none of the software updates or resets solved it. Any help that you can provide here is much appreciated. Thanks!

I recently bought new note 10.1 2014 edition wifi only version. Out of the box it had troubles in detecting my home wifi network. I managed to fix by enabling and disabling wps connection settings from my ZYXEL wifi router. But the problem appeared again in a month with just one reset of the router. My galaxy S2 and S3 have no trouble finding my network so I don't understand why the tablet can't. Both the phones actually more networks than the tablet actually so it's not limited just for my own router. I really hate Samsung for this. I believe the issue is not about hardwarehere.
S2 is running on neatrom latest version. S3 is running on original firmware 4.1 from Samsung and is not rooted yet.
I have been running into similar wifi problems without a real solution. I've noticed it had helped a little too connect to a 2.4ghz network versus 5ghz. But that cuts out the new wireless ac band that this tablet wad suppose to work with.

After your suggestion I digged into the settings of the router. I could not find the option you mentioned but managed to get it working by changing to 802.11b+g+n to 802.11b+g. I am sure this was not a problem before but helped for now.
Anyone else with similar troubles..I wonder if only mine is buggy piece...
i just got the note 10.1 2014 edition wifi only version and i am having problems with the wifi i have a rooted phone which i use the hotspot and my wives phone is connected to the hotspot and my laptop i have no issues with it but just as soon as i connect my table the 4g signal cuts in and out all the time any ideas on what i problem could be
This is a problem with the Note 3 too... Samsung seem to screwed the wifi drivers badly. I found going to wifi, hitting settings again brought up an advanced menu and unticking "scanning always available" and "auto network switch" fixes it a bit...
Thanks for the information I will give it a try
Hi. Recently set up with a new wifi hub and phone, laptop and tablet (Note 10.1) all connected fine. Even more recently the signal gave up in certain parts of the house so a lot of settings were changed, including network name. Phone and laptop found them fine and have been working ok but tablet can't find the network at all. No way of downloading apps onto tablet and diagnosing the problem but save changing the settings again and risking the signal going back to rubbish in the top of the house, is there anything I can do to figure out the problem?
WiFi connects to my router and stays connected at excellent signal strength without any trouble. Internet connection however, always disappears after a minute or so. Then my Dolphin Browser either keeps loading a website forever or gives me some error like "Webpage not available". Same story with stock or any other browser. I'm not sure since how long I have had this issue. It surely existed already when my phone came back from warranty service (and I had sent it there because of very short range of WiFi commonly known problem which they fixed by giving the phone new hardware). I think that upgrade to Android 4.2.2 might have caused my problem, but it was such a long time ago that I don't remember now (I don't use/need WiFi that much, mobile data internet is enough for me).
What I've tried so far:
-rebooting phone and router obviously
-factory formatting the phone
-WiFi analyzer app
-changing all the network parameters and re-setting it up
-WPS connecting
-playing with all the WiFi settings on my phone (proxy settings, ip settings, wifi optimization and other)
-finally, today I unlocked bootloader, rooted and installed custom ROM hoping it'd help (but it didn't and now I lost my warranty lol)
What I have:
HTC One X Endeavor
Android 4.2.2 HTC Sense 5.0
Android Revolution HD 33.1
3.1.10-g7f360be Kernel version
TP-LINK
N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router
Model No. TL-WDR4300
I'm thinking about installing other ROM, some that works on Android 4.0 or KitKat, could it help?
Oh, and I should add that two different notebooks, Galaxy S4, S3 mini, Xperia X10 and a tablet all work fine with this network :>
I can provide any screenshots, photos, names of devices etc., just tell me what is needed.

Hey all
I have a T-800 with IronRom on it. Everything was working fine for almost 2 months now. Starting yesterday, my tab is unable to find my 2.4GHz WiFi, but is still able to find/connect to my 5GHz WiFi or other 2.4GHz networks (public hotspots).
Other devices see the 2.4GHz network fine, and can connect to it. I've just rebooter the router and payed closed attention to what happened. Once the router is online, i can briefly see the 2.4GHz network, i tried to connect to it and my tablet asks for the wpa2 key. When i entered it (it's pretty long) i clicked connect, but the network was already listed "out of reach" by then.
Some more info:
I have rebooted all related devices
Tablet CAN connect to 5GHz network
Tablet CAN'T connect to 2.4GHz network (out of reach)
Other devices (laptop, phones) CAN connect to the 2.4GHz network
Tablet CAN connect to other 2.4GHz network
I have tried a Wifi Analyzer app, that also can't see the 2.4GHz network.
What could cause this or how could i diagnose/fix this issue? Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks a bunch in advance!
Perhaps some program you've installed recently has made changes to the system or settings that's prohibiting connection?
You seemed to have established there is nothing wrong with your network, and even the device can use both bands...
I would backup, reset the device and see if its still an issue.

Thanks for your reply! I have performed a reset and the problem persists. I have contacted Samsung support and they say it's a hardware issue and i should send it in.
The repairs are outsourced to Dynafix (can't post URL because I'm a new user). Any idea on how they handle rooted tablets with a custom OS? Should i tell them upfront?
You should get it as far back to stock as you can... ie - odin a stock rom.
If its indeed a hardware issue then it shouldn't matter but don't give them that reason.
I managed to fix the problem with the suggestion of a friend. My 2.4GHz connection's channel setting on the router was set to automatic. I assigned it a fixed channel and it immediately popped back into my available networks. Weird problem, but I'm glad i didn't send it in for repairs because they would've charged me for it.
Had the same problem and it was rom related. I changed the rom and coud enable auto channel again in my router...

I've noticed a new issue with my g4, it will only show wifi networks that I've previously connected to on the list. If I'm out of range of my remembered networks, it shows that there aren't any available. If I'm connected to a known network, it shows only that network on the list. I'm on vzw, rooted, xposed, and debloated. I recently went through the whole debloat list and I'm not sure if they're related or not because I didn't notice it until I tried to connect to a new network. I've attached a screenshot, there are 4 other networks that my chromebook sees just fine. Mirror of screenshot Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have no clue of it's because of something I've debloated or not. I haven't tried a factory reset yet.
Thanks!
I had this problem on 3 notes when I received an upgrade to lollipop
I just took the 6.0.1 update for the Sprint S6, and I am having some interesting wifi issues. I can't get any sort of Internet connection at home, even though it is connected to the network. However, I went to Starbucks and I was able to get a connection there. Then I come to work, and I get no connection here. I had read that the Verizon S6 had similar issues with the update, and it had to do with MM having issues with tkip encryption. Can anyone confirm that this could be the problem with the Sprint update?

Mine working ok.

I was experiencing extremely bad/slow wifi connectivity after installing MM. I deleted my my wifi extension configuaration (MM kept connecting to my wifi extender difinition - slower speed). That improved wifi performance close to pre-MM. Also turned of smart network switch (settings - more - smart network switch) witch seemed to improve the reliability of my wifi connection.

I am having this same problem too. I am also having issues with text messages not sending.
My network connection, both at home and traveling, has been flawless. My suggestion to you would be to switch your home router at AES, see if that resolves the issue and then switch back and see what happens.
There is at least one ticket open on Google's Android site regarding the TKIP issue. Open since May, I might add.
