Rebrand T-Mobile 7T to global rom. - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

I have the instructions for unlocking the bootloader and converting a T-Mobile oneplus 7T to the global rom. But I have a few follow-up questions.
Will OTA updates work as expected after flashing the global rom?
It's it possible and safe to relock the bootloader after flashing the global rom? To ensure the most secure device possible?
Thank you,
John

Chinese Variant with Global ROM Installed

I am using a chinese variant with a global rom installed and I'm worrying that it wouldn't work in the next updates.
Since Xiaomi removed the capability of flashing global roms in chinese variants with a locked bootloader, is there any chance or possibility that xiaomi will block the capability of flashing global roms in chinese variants with unlocked bootloader in the future? Can xiaomi do this?
They can do absolutely what they want, after all the product is theirs. I also have a Xiaomi and I have already gone through what you are going through. So, honestly, get the bootloader unlocked and install a custom roms as fast as possible. The siege is closing and so we must be secure in a custom with total freedom to do whatever we want. In the meantime, do not upgrade your smartphone

Can any custom rom be installed on the 7t HD 1907when unlocking the bootloader?

I am about to buy an unlocked OnePlus 7t hd1907 from Tmobile, but I am interested in custom roms can be installed after unlocking the bootloader.?
If it's made for your device, sure.
The roms that I find do not mention, only hot dog and I understand that it is HD1901 HD1903 HD1905 does not mention HD 1907. Could it be that it will not work?
Convert to global (in guides section using msm tool and all hotdogB ROMs will work fine: oos10/11, los18.1 (gapps or microG), omni10/11, statix10/11, evoX10/11, derp10/11, dotOS11, yaap 10/11, resurrection remix 10, havoc10/11, aosip10, Xtended10, crDroid10/11, PE+10/11, few GSIs, etc
Thank you for solving my question, you are very kind. could you share the guide to make it global please?

Twrp v1 is for oos11 to flash custom roms from internal SDcard as it can decrypt data on oos11. Twrp v2 is for already-flashed custom rom A12. There is no twrp for oos12 or custom rom A13. You can't decrypt data on A13 or oos12 with any custom recovery. You can still "adb sideload rom.zip" though.

MIUI version unknown

Hi guys,
I've bought a Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite 5G, supposaly global edition, that has MIUI 12.5.3.0 installed.
My phone is the model M2007J17G and MIUI version says it is MIUI Global Stable 12.5.3.0(RJSEUVF)
I've tried to update using recovery roms from Global and Europe without any success, the message it appears is that is not a valid ROM.
Can you help me please understand what ROM my phone has installed?
Best regards
Sounds like Vodafone version, not sure if it's possible to switch to global/eu rom without bootloader unlocking.

Question How to Backup modemst and persist

Hi I am new this xda and android rooting. Currently using OnePlus 9 pro T-Mobile Verizon. Can anyone please help me how to perform
Backup your working modemst1/2 and persist
T-Mobile Verizon ? Two different companies. What is your model number?
LE2127
That is a T-Mobile model, same as mine! Is your bootloader unlocked? That is the first and most important step... Being that it is a LE2127, you must be on T-Mobile as your carrier...
Phone unlocked and bootloader is locked
First thing to do is unlock the bootloader...are you on A11 or have you already updated to A12?
Sure I will do it I am on A11

[Oneplus 9 Pro] Extract partitions on unrooted or locked phone.
This manual will be useful for phones with Oxygen firmware, because very often they are get incremental updates and many users cannot install update with root, cannot find a stock boot, etc. Also for those who want to unlock the bootloader at...

Question How to update to 12.5.9 ?

Hello,
My lisa came with 12.5.5 out of the box. OTA offers direct to 13.0.2. Is there anyway I can upgrade to 12.5.9 ? I don't want to upgrade to A12 atm, or anytime soon really.
Indian firware if that matters.
I see xiaomi.eu has a version of 12.5.9 which is no longer updated, but lisa isn't listed on the compatible device list.
Thanks

First of all, some basics (not sure are you aware of):
1) If your phone came with Indian, you can update but only to Indian firmware without unlocking your Bootloader:
Install MIUI Recovery ROM using Stock Recovery and Updater App
Has your Xiaomi phone received a new MIUI update? Then follow this guide to easily install MIUI Recovery ROM using stock recovery and Updater app on Xiaomi devices. Any smartphone user prefers getting…
www.thecustomdroid.com
In that case you will need to download the so-called Recovery or ZIP stock firmware and use the installation as above
2) For anything else, like switching from Indian to Global or EEA (or to Russian or Chinese) - they are all stock ROMs, or switching to Xiaomi.eu - that is not stock ROM, or any other custom (ie, not stock) ROM, you would first have to unlock Bootloader
AFAIK, Xiaomi.eu has no 12.5 for Lisa, only 13.0 - hence not applicable if you insist on 12.5
To switch from Indian to Global or EEA (still stock ROMs), you will need the unlocked Bootloader, the so-called Fastboot or TGZ firmware (and MiFlash tool):
How to Flash Fastboot ROMs on Xiaomi? - xiaomiui
If you are a Xiaomi user and have installed custom ROMs on your device, then you might be wondering how to flash fastboot ROMs on Xiaomi devices. This article
xiaomiui.net

I don't know where do you see 12.5.9 for Lisa - I had 12.5.8 EEA) , but there should be not much difference
Anyway, install the following app and you can check which versions are available for Lisa (for stock Global, EEA, Indian, etc) or custom Xiaomi.eu:
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
It shows the Latest but click on Older and you will see all the previously released (stable) versions.
Btw, under Indian, I don't find 12.5.9, neither under Global or EEA (under Global there are eg 12.5.11 and 12.5.14)
From the app, you can also choose and download Recovery (zip) or Fastboot (tgz) stock ROM for the wanted version - depending on your flashing method as above
thank you very much. I did request to unlock the bootloader in the mi unlock app, but all the custom A11 roms stopped development or moved onto A12, so I didn't see much point in unlocking bootloader.
as i understand, if i am on the indian firmware, i can flash the indian rom without BL unlock. but if BL is unlocked, do i need to switch firmware as well to install say the Global ROM ?
about 12.5.9, i mistook it as the last version before they moved to 13. sorry about that.

When you unlock Bootloader it does not prevent you to update India ROM by stock Recovery method
It just gives you the additional option to switch eg to Global by flashing Fastboot/tgz ROM
Its like, you can always go by foot, but if you have a car, you have the additional option to go by car
Please take your time, Google, read to acquire further knowledge and know-how.
There are tons of guides here on XDA, on the Net, Google videos, etc
