Travel internationally - possible to flash FW to get different lte bands? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hi, I soon will be proud owner of a new USA GW3 lte 45mm (got it during the Samsung sale last week). Anyway, I travel a lot (well not last year for obvious reasons), but hopefully soon again. Is it possible to for instance flash a European FW and the get the European lte bands? I guess the question is if the lte band limitations are HW in nature or SW? Anyone who tried? Any hint appreciated - thanks!

difference between TP2 uk and TP2 US or TP2 Asia?

I am from the Philippines and I am planning to get one. The nearest I could find was this:
http://www.expansys.com.hk/d.aspx?i=179097
But it is the UK version, is there any difference in hardware (keyboard layouts etc..) and software?

There is always a difference. Usually in the bands, style, looks, and keyboard. I would suggest you wait until all three come out. If you are hasty, you may end up buying a version that doesn't support HSDPA in your region.
TP2 EU/UK is MSM7200A with 2100mhz 3G. TP2 US (RHOD210) is MSM7201A with AT&T 3G. More versions are still coming, Sprint version uses MSM7600.
Wait until more is known and are out there to make sure you get the correct version. In general EU/UK versions are also compatible in large regions of Asia, but thats a rule of thumb, not a rule.
Also the U.S CDMA TP2 (Sprint and Verizon version) is going to be dual mode (CDMA and Euro GSM) i've heard. This especially has me tickled pink .
Basically i'm a happy Sprint camper and love the CDMA service, plus as a bonus if i'm visiting my big sis in the U.K, i no longer need to drag along my unlocked Moto Krzr, i can just pop in an o2 prepaid SIM in the same TP2.
Hope this comes to pass.

Well if it works in Hong Kong it should work in the Philippines I think. Thanks for the opinion guys, will ask expansys also regarding this matter.
Cant wait to get my hands on a TP2. Actually, I am getting a free Iphone 3G from my service provider as loyalty award and I am selling it to get a TP2 :-D

Which defy to buy?

I'm considering purchasing the Defy. (completely in love with the idea of a waterproof phone)
I live in US and have AT&T. Seen topics about the T-Mobile version working on AT&T's 3G bands.
I plan on purchasing one from eBay and my question is, should I get the american "T-Mobile" version or should I get a European version. Which one has more/better roms available? Does the European version work on AT&T 3G? I'm a fan of the all black UK version as well. Are there any other hardware differences besides color of the phone?
Thanks alot! Hope to be visiting these defy forums more often!
Ok, if you buy the American (T-Mo?) you should be able to use it on AT&T 3G through the 850 freq, and of course, on T-Mo.
http://androidforums.com/t/217819-t-mo-motorola-defy-working-t-3g-850-band-only.html
You will also be able to use it on the most common international freq, 2100. Looked at the Euro spec phone on the Moto site and they do not appear to be able to work on any USA 3G.
The USA T-Mo branded phone seems to be far less likely to developed the "failed earpiece", if that is even still an issue with current production.
Also, there is a thread with people complaining that the all black phone is structurally "cheaper". Maybe it's an appearance thing. Of course, the T-mo branded phone comes with wifi calling which you cannot use on AT&T... but should you ever switch...
Awesome! Thank you very much for the information.

Remember, I'm only passing on info on the 850 band but have never tried myself.

EU/UK HTC 10 Ever confirmed working 4G/LTE in US?

This was a thread months ago during the release. Not sure if anybody ever tested this or knew.
Since they offer several other colors people might want here in the US, a few had thoughts about buying a UK/EU version and testing to see what networks really work in the US.
Not sure if it was a radio/firmware issue, or it the chipset supports it either way. Just need to put the correct firmware on and get 4G/LTE support.
But the question was is the band for TMo/ATT 4g LTE supported on these devices/tested working in the US?
Or is it a no-go?!?
Thanks

Is it possible to UNLOCK all (most) LTE bands on this phone

Hey!
I owned Samsung S5 with all (well - most but still ) LTE bands unlocked thanks to your guys (XDA Devs). I am considering a purchase of this phone (or Pocophone) but its downside is a limited number of LTE bands supported. I am traveling back and forth between UE and NA - and would like to have a fully operational phone while being on the American soil - so the connectivity and the number of LTE bands is quite important for me.
Any thoughts? Hints? Info?
cheers!

They work just fine. So many threads on this. You could have asked this in the USA thread and gotten more answers.

Will new firmware solve LTE compatibility Galaxy Watch US-->International

Hi,
Two week ago I've ordered from Amazon US The Galaxy watch 42mm LTE version (4G LTE SM-R815UZKAXAR)
Yesturday I've noticed that the LTE bands in my country (ISRAEL) are different from the one specified on the watch US spec (Only Band 5 [850]) are supported on both the US and my country - all other bands are different).
1. Will one band only support (B5, 850) be enough to get all data & voice functionality ?
1. Is this a firmware issue only, or different zone Samsung watch have different hardware as well ?
2. Any link for an international firmware that would open other bands as well ?
Thanks a lot,
G.
