I'm rooted and running Lineage OS 14.1 on a SM-T800 (chagallwifi). I need to connect to an adhoc wifi broadcast by a print server to access it's initial setup. Does anyone know of a suitable app that makes this possible?

Can you just use a browser and put the IP for it in the address bar and get there?

I have international Optimus G and on every gproj KitKat Rom(CM11, mokee, dokdo etc.) wifi is working without problems, but on aosp Roms (omni, vanir etc.) i have strange wifi issues. Wifi mac address is changed on every Boot and 5GHz wifi doesnt show my network. Always have done full wipe / clean install with The right gapps package.
Any help is appreciated, as i'd like to use some of The Roms and also multiboot, but as mac address changes in every Boot it is not usable for me since i have mac filter at my wifi and it doesnt even connect with my guest wireless.

yesterday i have flashed my htc desire first time with the latest evervolv rom (evervolv.com/devices/bravo) and all works fine, but i have a problem with wifi hotspot / tethering.
i started a hotspot with wpa2 password but no device (2 Laptops (win7 / 8) and a Galaxy s2 (cm 11)) can connect to the hotspot. they are in the connection loop. same with wpa key. but if i running the hotspot at open without a password, all devices can connect succesful
is this a known issue? hav everyone a idea what i can do? thx

I flashed some other KitKat Rom´s and by all i have the same problem.
Now i flashed a ICS Rom and Wifi Hotspot works great with WPA or WPA2 Password.
But i would love to run the Hotspot with a KitKat rom.
Wifi Hotspot works on your Desire with KitKat rom and WPA or WPA2 Password or you guys have the same issue?
I would be glad, if anyone can help me.

I installed
cm-12.1-20151204-NIGHTLY-picassowifi.zip
and
cm-12.1-20151007-SNAPSHOT-YOG4PAO335-picassowifi.zip
On both I can add & connect to my 2.4g & 5g wlan networks to my netgear r7000.
But when I start a browser, google play, or anything else that needs internet it will crash with no such method exception.
The connection, password & icon of wifi has no error.
Any idea's what i'm missing?
Seems the gapps 5.1 break the wifi internet connectivity. Any recommended version for 12.1?

Flashed cm-13.0-20160214-NIGHTLY-v410 to my device, all is working except double tap to wake and wi-fi tethering.
If you're getting 'Unfortunately, Google Play Services stopped' error on latest CM13 + Open GApps, try this fix:
su
adb shell pm grant com.google.android.gms android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
(if on Terminal Emulator then removed 'adb shell' from second line)
Now remove Google account and re-add it.

Hi - I too have an issue with wifi tethering in a CM13 nightly, V410 - This nightly is from 5/2016 (I will post the exact build later). When I go into settings, I switch on tethering, it pauses for a moment, and then shows the word "error" without the tethering switch ever changing to the "on" position. I have tried other tethering apps from googleplay, but all the free apps I have tried seem to create senseless "shortcuts" that simply layer over the non-working tether function that is already built-in to CM13. They do not have their own independant tether functionality. FYI, I don't THINK I have a tethering plan, but I am not sure. my plan is limited to a single gig on my tablet, though my iphone's are unlimited through ATT/Directv.
Questions: 1) does anyone know of a nightly were tethering works?
2) if not, what is a tethering app I can use instead of the built in tether function, free from googleplay?

I have two questions about WiFi Hotspot in LineageOS 16.0:
1) In LineageOS there seems no list of connected devies available. Is this a bug or a feature?
2) In Android 9 I saw a setting to activate vpn connection for WiFi-Hotspot-Connected devies - but I don't find it anymore. Can anybody help me out?
