Hello all,
I am quite interested in this phone cause I am searching for a Nexus 6 successor and I depend on wireless charging. Sadly there are no high end smartphones which will deliver this feature anymore.
Therefore I have two questions:
1. At this time there are two threee custom ROMs for the exynos variant and no for the snapdragon. Will that change?
2. How likely there will be an AOSP ROM and what version (snapdragon or exynos) will suffer most from bugs then?

I know, that is the reason I am asking two questions about ROM development and advice about choosing snapdragon or exynos
Ah I'm sorry I misunderstood. I can't speak for the snapdragon but I have the exynos and it's awesome. Excellent battery life and no heat issues. Sure I have read that the exynos is better for rooting but haven't looked into it in depth as I'm happy on stock for a while. I'm sure someone will be able to help soon.
get an exynos, more development
Hello
I’m extremely happy to bring this news to You!
Today a light in the tunnel has been spotted!
LineageOS has officially added as of 20th January 2018 it’s first Samsung S6 to the device support list!
Let us hope that users of other S6 versions will have the same luck Especially those with S6Edge+
Best wishes and thank you LineageOS team!

That's not the only difference, is has more RAM for example. I didn't do much comparing but S6 and S6E+ are wayyyy different in my opinion hence no support from LineageOS.

Ram, screen size, resolution. does not really affect much. so im sure that s6edge+ will get it too.
(edit) by the way, gsmarena says that s6 is planned to get oreo update.

Thanks for the comparison.
It was said that this information about Oreo update is unofficial.
However if we do receive that update we will be the last phone to get it.
So I predict no sooner than June 2018 (let's not be too optimistic).
I hope lineage os team Works in an official build for the s6 edge plus!!!

Yes, that's correct. But the problem is that: there is much less owners of S6E+ than the number of owners of S6 or S6E

And at the same time the custom roms World is not going through its best moment. And the lineage os team is not as big as Cyanogenmod was. They don't have to many members to develop roms for all divices like Cyanogenmod used to. It better give time to time and keep updated with the news.
So keep this thread open!!!!

Good to know! Thanks for sharing that important info about a smaller amount of ppl in LineageOS than in Cyanogenmod.
And I intended to keep this topic open from the beggining. I can not wait for the official release for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus - the best phone Samsung made till S9/S9+ (maybe, cause I didnt test the new Galaxys).

Jajaja!! I maybe agree with you that it is the best phone made because I didn't test the others galaxys either. But, I really think they should release an official lineage os for the s6 edge plus!!

Hi,
I was thinking about getting the s9+ but I noticed that there are not many roms for the phone, is there any reason for that?

So the exynos model is not locked?
I was thinking about getting the sd845 model because the performance appeared better, but if it's a cumbersome model to work with and the exynos is better for development. Then maybe one should aim for that model instead.
Wouldnt go for a Samsung phone if you want great custom rom support. Its split between exynos and snapdragon AND you will have to stay with samsung experience roms if you want to have a camera that is not garbage.
Exynos battery isn't as good as snapdragon

try this for better solution https://odindownloads.net/magisk-manager/
They could have priced it maybe 14-15K but ya, the 6Gb RAM and helio G80 chipset is good enough for this Samsung phone
I like the display in the smartphone and the camera section too seems to be so good. Great use of Mediatek gaming chipset.
the 48MP camera and the helio G80 processor is a good choice in this Samsung device
just to generate some movement on this forum... the A22 is better than A21s and it's also better than the higher priced A32. It's the smart choice, and I fully recommend it.
Anyone developing aosp for s22 cuz the battery life suck on this device

There's almost never been any roots available for snapdragon versions of Samsung phones. Buy a new phone.
There is a custom rom for SD s22 ultra, don't think any dev's went for the budget phone unfortunately
