Hello
the problem started when my brother erased the SD card and since then I get the massage : "sd card has been removed program will restart please insert sd card with map"
and the device restarts .
so I want to install igo8 on it and I am stuck .
1. I downloaded MRM1200FSv1.zip file replaced the Gapi from the cab file and put it in the TFAT (start.xml and unit.xml replaced in the APP folder . Patch folder copied to the root )
2. I start the device and put the gx.dll from the Gapi folder into the windows folder via FilemanagerCE .
when I quit the FilemanagerCE I get the Systme settings of magellan and when I click the left bottom arrow I get the massage again :" "sd card has been removed program will restart please insert sd card with map" and the device restarts .
3. I start Gapi setup from menu and change the setup to magellan 1200 and click ok .
now I back to the system settings again and got nothing to do beside the bottom left arrow and see the massage again and the device restarts .
4. from the menu I pick the FilemanagerCE again and click on the igo8.exe , then I get this massage : " 'igo8' is not a valid windows ce application" .
so I am stuck at this point.
ps
is this normal to get this massage :""sd card has been removed program will restart please insert sd card with map"
time and a time again , every time I quite an application and get to the System Setting window and got nothing to do beside the left arrow ? why it oesn't get back to the Main menu I get in the start ?
and one more thing , should I see windows start menu ?
maybe someone can compress his TFAT and his SD and upload them so I could copy it to my RM1200 to fix it...
Please help me out

Hi
I have the following Car PC A2270P from Roadrover ( http://www.roadrover.cn/E/productshow.asp?id=49&mnid=19046 ).
Tech specs :
- CPU 400MHZ (manufacturer unknown)
- 128 MB DDR RAM
- 128 MB NAND Flash
- Windows CE 5.0 ( as written in the user manual )
It has a USB port (that reads only flash USB)
It has a SD slot
In the shipped SD 1 GB card, a GPS Navigation application Route66 was included "Navigate7.exe". It is launched by pressing "NAVI" button
Once installed in my car, I found that Windows mobile was "locked" .
Only *.txt and audio and video files can be browsed and executed.
I can not install any additional application on the SD card.
In the SD card I tried the following :
- added dll included in "packdllxania.zip"
- added GSFinder.exe (file explorer), renamed it "Navigate7.exe" instead of the Route66 application.
- Pressed the "NAVI" button hoping that GSFinder will be launched instead of the GPS application. But I got an error message saying that the GPS application could not start
Do you have any idea how to :
- backup the installed Windows and applications
- unlock the installed Windows in order to have a "real" Car PC on which I can install my programs
Thanks for your help
try to get ITaskMgr, rename it to Autorun.exe and move into "2577" dir on SD card. Insert card after boot process. You will need select Process tab and terminate any app which look like carsystem menu
Sorry for this delay, but it is not very convenient to transport laptop to the parking in order to do the experiments in my car.
Anyhow, I tried the following with TaskMgr for WinWM2003SE
- with a new SD card : created directory 2577 and copied in it TaskMgr.exe, renamed it to Autorun.exe, inserted it in the Car PC, started it : nothing happened, the normal choice menu appeared as usual. I pressed the button "NAVI" and had the message "enter activation code". It seems that only the original SD card can be used.
- with the original SD card : created directory 2577 and copied in it TaskMgr.exe, renamed it to Autorun.exe, inserted it in the Car PC, started it : nothing happened, the normal choice menu appeared as usual.
Then, I copied TaskMgr in the root, renamed it "Navigate7.exe" (original GPS program" then pressed the button "NAVI" and had the message "could not launch GPS application".
It seems that the Car PC vendor deactivated the boot from the SD card.
Do you have any other suggestion ?
Do you have any idea how Windows mobile was locked in that case ?
I checked the different connections in the back of the Car PC, none suggests a USB connection equivalent to the one used to connect to a laptop via ActiveSynch.
Is there is any program or trick that can bypass the default start menu ?
In the past, I had a Medion GPS with WinCE4. I found a method on Internet to unlock it by accessing from a Laptop, via ActiveSynch, to the internal files and applications. By modifying the default application, I was able to install other programs.
For my Car PC, do you know how to access to the internal files ?
As I have a CD-DVD reader in my Car PC, do you think that I can use a bootable CD ? Does it exist for Windows Mobile ?

Hello guys,
I own an HTC HD2.
I am looking for a windows mobile car pc (Din 1, DVD, GPS, BT, USB, 7 inch touch screen...) because I don't want to wait 1-2 minutes for the boot up of an XP-baed car-pc.
1) Do you recommend any WM car-PCs?
2) If there is no such a device, what is the best car-Pc that I can use by hacking it in order to be able to install other wm softwares such as google maps, games, dictionnaries etc ?
3) What is the optimal case for me since I already own the HTC HD2 in conjunction with my future car-pc (the HD2 does not support video-out).
Since I am new into this world and need some guidance...
Thank you in advance
welcome!
I have No name car unit (like FVpower 1 din)
Sound look like low cost radio car. (I lost all bass )
CD reader on unit is the same like 24,99€ DVD player.
If you use gps unit, you can find somme software who can play MP3 with good equiltzer.
soud is better with that.
I don't know for good unit (pionner, LG or other...) but the WINCE of unit do an HARD RESET when you turn of unit. (I did good plug, +12 and ingnation) maybe the CR2032 battery is out..
I have to start a Mortscript all time if i want show the desktop (Desktop without shortcut...)
So don't worry, good new, Time of GPS fix is very quickly! ( 10sec Max)
Bye
I had a similar issue with the hp ipaq 310 some time ago - my process is outlined here:
http://tamsppc.tamoggemon.com/2008/08/07/the-great-ipaq-310-jailbreak/
However, there is not much to gain here in most cases: windows ce.net NOT windows mobile...
Take a good quality mainstream car DVD audio or AV player, and add screens as you need. Go for mainstream brands and not cheap stuff. There is a quality difference, and auto electronics lifetime is greater than consumer electronics stuff, where the life is assumed to be 18-24 months within which you get the new generation to keep the gravy train rolling. Cars, on the other hand would use an audio system for about 5 years, so it needs to be better engineered..
Hope it would be helpful.
RoadRover all-in-one in-dash Chinese GPS Unit
I also have a RoadRover GPS unit. The unit functions well. I am very pleased with it.
However, for example, some pop-up screens do not stay visible for long enough before reverting back to the main window.
The iPod screen enables you to connect to the iPod. You can then press a button and the Song/Track/Album titles are displayed. You can then use some arrows to scroll down the window. Unfortunately the pop-up windows has a limited life. You do not get long enough to read what is in the window before it disappears. You then have to repeat the rigmarole again and again trying to get to the bottom of the screen before it disappears.
I would like to change this behaviour if possible.
I have loaded MioPocket and tried it out. But I prefer ceFFM .
My question is this.
How can I copy the OEM software over to a memory card?
I would like to use a winCE emulator (like this one) and try to learn what the OEM software does and then modify it.
to OP:
I vaguely seem to remember rooting Win CE based GPS a while ago. The method was similar to what was suggested about Autorun.exe.
I remember having exactly same problem.
The solution was to realize that the unit run from another directory, not the one I was patching. The directory content was the same or very similar, but the actual runtime file structure was created froma directory I didn't look at at first.
So, look around. May-be search for a directory name or a file name, and see if you can find it buried within some other seemingly obscure directory. Good luck.

Thanks. Good advice.
I discovered, running ceFFM, that the unit stores some files in places called StaticStore as well as NAND Flash. NAND Flash I think is where ceFFM has saved its files because I found a folder with that name there. Inside is a folder called installation.
On the other hand StaticStore contains 4 folders. Namely
App
D2280
P1.0-MV2.0-TV1-302A-R
pp12060063650000
The last two folders are empty so must be placeholders or something.
App contains 4 executables- docviewer.exe, pdfviewer.exe, presviewer.exe,XLS.EXE. Self explanatory. There also 21 dll files here as well with cryptic names that seem to be associated with the 4 executables. I get this!
D2280 contains 6 folders ; Fonts, Photo,PLAYER,Poem,Skins,Telephone. It also contains a number of executables;
DebugLog.exe ... a debugger I guess!
DVDPlayer.exe ... DVD player
Go.exe ... a game
iPod.exe ... the iPod app
Manager.exe ... this one loads the GUI. I have managed to load it in all its glory in the emulator.
Mp3Player.exe ... mp3 player
NoteBook.exe ... notebook app
Othello.exe ... a game I think
PhotoViewer.exe ... an image viewer
Radio.exe ... the radio app
SysSet.exe ... I think it sets up where the naviagtor software is located.
Telephone.exe ... to sync with the mobile phone.
As well as these 12 programs/executables/Apps there are 9 DLL files, 1 LANG.EXP, 4 ini files, 1 GUI.DLL.txt file (certificate signer?)
I was hoping to find an iPod ini file.
I don't know if the DLL files can be examined, but none seem to have any reference to the iPod app.
Stumped.
need help
please explain how u run ceFFM.
thanks

Hi I am using hardspl 3.34
I decided to put android on my kaiser as I love it on my desire..
I flashed the latest android kernel from kallt_kaffe, when booted error messages came up about not being able to mount various locations..and a final one "unable to open persistent property directory"
I tried pressing the D pad to load an Android nbh from and boot and nothing.
I have since tried to reflash both winmo and android kernel images from the sd card and through USB but nothing flashes.
If I try with the sd card, naming the image KAISimg.nbh all I get is a white screen with loading on it..nothing more.
when I try via usb it gets as far as trying to flash the rom, then comes up with a communication errror.
anyone any ideas what has happened and how to fix it.
Regards
Robbie
You've downloaded and flashed the kernel (which allows you to run Android), but have you downloaded an Android build yet?
It sounds like you're missing the androidinstall.tar file in the andboot folder of your SD card.
Find a build in this forum, download the build (should be about 80/90mb or so when zipped) and then place the file in /andboot/
If you've already done this, apologies if that was patronising in any way!
The Kaiser is somewhat picky when it comes to SD cards, it may not read KAISIMG.nbh even if everything is fine. My 1GB Kingston card, for example, is useless when it comes to flashing this way, I had to buy a new 4GB card so I could sort out a rather useless Android build.
Thanks NatAvery
I have the andboot folder with the tar file in, but as I get errors from the android kernel i think that is why it doesn't read it.
My main concern is my inability to flash anything..I have tried a different sd card as you suggested and I still have the same problem, it comes up as loading the KAISimg.nbh but goes no further.
Robbie
Hi Vampires,
Did your issue resolve?.........since even i have a similar issue. I flashed HardSPL first & then flashed a rom from then whenever i switch on the phone it comes to this screen as if loading and is stuck with the error you mentioned ' unable to open persistent property directory'
And this happen to me just like it happen to me .......in the pursuit of having android on the phone.
I'm not able to flash any other rom's just stuck on this screen.
I have the same problem. I also use hardspl 3.34
I flashed the kernel installed the built, bu i didn´t pick the right display setting..
everytime I try to reflash it only says loading.. (left it for about 2 hours)
any ideas?
still looking for a solution, please anyone with usefull info help ..
i had similar problems before, my system is:
HTC tytn ii (kaiser 130)
Hard SPL 3.34, radio 1.70.19.09
DZO's kernel and froyo 15-07 (latest thas it), NAND flashed
4gb SD card
(109mb internal phone memory after 1st boot)
Haret Install (SD card, run side by side with WinMo)
- dload kallt_kaffe froyo, extract and put andboot in SD card, root, not subfolder
- rename default-kaiser.txt into default.txt
- edit default.txt change panel-type into 2 (panel 1 got some issue with res)
- run haret.exe
- don't press d-pad (center) just yet, wait until message 'press d-pad/volume to ..' then immediately press and hold d-pad until you're in install menu.
- select install, ok
- next, select fix permission (optional, but it fix some prob)
- select quit
- let it boot, no need to press d-pad anymore.
- you may get "unable to open persistent property directory", but no worries, restart phone, run haret again, if still the same, reinstall, sometimes twice install should fix it. (don't ask me why)
NAND flash
- dload DZO's kernel and OS build file.
- use Loser's NBH editor to change panel type to 2, and keyboard type. it will then save as KAISIMG.nbh
- put KAISIMG.nbh into SD card, root.
- make folder andboot inside SD card at root, and copy dzo's android build, rename it to androidinstall.tgz (tar/tgz)
- press and hold power btn + camera btn, reset with stylus
- press power again to flash kernel, then reset after complete
- now it will try to boot android, immediately press d-pad when you see 'press d-pad/volume..' and install (sys on NAND, data on NAND), next step same as haret above.
- you're now officially android.
note: additionally you can also try 'sys on NAND' + 'data on SD Card', --> use this EXT2 partitionto partition your sd card
side note:>
zImage = is the haret version of the KAISIMG.nbh file, it's the kernel.
androidinstall.tar/tgz = the android OS files
hope this helps.
Attn: if you're experiencing battery stucked at 15% or something, go into boot menu (d-pad), backup data, flash winmo rom, charge to 100%, then reflash+reinstall android, restore data. that should fix it.
Let me start over and explain, a little background might help you understand what I am trying to do.
I have 4 S3 SPH-L710's / Software version L710VPUDNJ2 / Hardware version L710.14 / Android 4.4.2 / Baseband version L710VPUDNJ2 / Kernel version 3.4.0-2851177/ Build number 2.02.11.0701 ((and here is where one of them is different,, one of the S3's has a Build number 2.01.11.0505)), all from FreedomPop(which is a Sprint device) and all bought at the same time. They all have TWRP recovery & SuperU installed from FreedomPop.
The 3 with the Build number 2.02.11.0701 have working Bluetooth on them, but the one with the Build number 2.02.11.0701 does not have Bluetooth working, since that is the only difference I have found and I have tried multiple factory resets to fix it I wanted to update that one phone to the matching build of the other three to see if that fixes it.
Can I use the ROM/OS from one of the working S3's by backing it up some how and then using it to flash the non working S3?

[SOLVED]
Here is what I did and it worked.
Bad phone = phone I want to flash/fix - - - - Good phone = phone I want take backup from
On Samsung Galaxy S3 you boot to TWRP by holding volume up + center home button then press and hold power button too untill you see some blue words at the top left of the screen, then release all three buttons.
Folder paths will be the same on your SD card but folder names will be different, see the note at the bottom about file names and folder paths.
What I did is run a backup on the bad phone in TWRP to the ext SD card in case anything went wrong. After it finished I turned the phone off and removed that SD card, then I turned the phone back on and ran a factory reset on the bad phone, when it finished and was at the first screen where you chose your language I turned the phone off. Then I inserted the SD card in my PC and found a folder with the file path TWRP>BACKUPS>551f9321>2016-03-03--18-28-10_2.01.11.0505 so I copied it to a folder on my PC and then deleted the last folder, the one that has a date for the name that had the backup files in it. Leaving the empty folders on the SD card TWRP>BACKUPS>551f9321
On the good phone I ran a backup in TWRP to the ext SD card, after it finished I turned off the phone removed the SD card and inserted the SD card in my PC, on the SD card I found folders with a file path like this TWRP>BACKUPS>9817290e>2013-12-31--18-55-59_2.02.11.0701, so I copied that to my PC(so I could return that phone back to its original state when this was all done) then deleted the dated folder off the SD card, leaving the empty folders TWRP>BACKUPS>9817290e on the SD card. With the SD card OUT of the phone I ran a factory reset on the good phone, when it finished and was at the first screen where you chose your language I turned the phone off. I booted in to TRWP and ran a backup to the ext SD card, when it finished I turned off the phone and removed the SD card and inserted it in to my PC, I copied the the dated folder TWRP>BACKUPS>9817290e>2013-12-31--18-55-59_2.02.11.0701 , to my PC and deleted it off the SD card, Then I took the original backup I made for this phone and returned it to the SD card so I could use it to restore the good phone in TWRP.
Back to the bad phone: I inserted the SD card in to my PC and copied the second backup I made from the GOOD (the backup I made AFTER the factory reset) phone to the folder file path TWRP>BACKUPS>551f9321>2013-12-31--18-55-59_2.02.11.0701 (this is the newer build number I am hoping fixes the Bluetooth issue on my phone) then I put the SD card back in to the bad phone and booted in to TWRP and ran a restore from the ext SD card, when it finished I was at the language selection screen!! I went thru the setup and let all my apps update from Google Play Store - entered my accounts in settings - and after all the updating I restarted my phone and tested Bluetooth.......................IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I checked the Build number in Settings>More>About device>Build number shows 2.02.11.0701 = SUCCESS !!
Hardest parts:
1. Keeping track of which SD card is which(I used the phone cases I took off of each phone to hold the respective SD cards while not in use to keep them separated, I also noted the brand name of each just in case)
2. Keeping the backups organised - there will be a total of three backups, a backup of each phone and the backup made after the factory reset you use to flash the bad phone.
A word about file names and paths:
The first time I tried this I copied the entire folder path from the good phones backup to the bad phones backup, AND it didn't work. Problem is that the folder path has a unique number for each phone in it EXAMPLE -> TWRP(this folder name will be the same on all phones)>BACKUPS(this folder name will be the same on all phones)>9817290e(this folders name is UNIQUE for each phone)>2013-12-31--18-55-59_2.02.11.0701(this is the dated folder that contains the backup)
