Well, received EMUI 11 after all. However, since the update I'm unable to connect my phone to my computer (fastboot, mpt, HiSuite, etc). The phone thinks it's receiving charge from a normal charger (I don't even get the different USB options when plugged to the computer). Windows always says "USB Device Not Recognized" no matter how many computers I've tried it on, how many cables I've used, how many drivers I've tried. Device manager shows it as "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)". Trust me I've got the correct drivers and I know well how to troubleshoot that.
Is this happening to anybody after the update?
There's a new bootloader unlock method (https://ministryofsolutions.com/202...r-unlock-service-evr-al00-tl00-supported.html) so I need to downgrade to EMUI 9 to achieve this, so that I can use OpenKirin custom roms. Any other ways to downgrade without a PC?
Thanks!
It is possible.
It didn't work for me but now it does work.

Thanks. Right, this is when the computer detects the phone. In my case it does not, for anything in the world. Tried several computers, cables, a million drivers, all the usual windows/drivers/android settings that you need to check. I think the update has broken this feature. Can't even roll back to EMUI 10, because you need the phone to be detected by the computer. So, I'm stuck.

Don't know if I can can solve your issue but I can say that I've been on EMUI 11 and managed to go back to 10 and 9, so I don't think it's necessarily anything to do with EMUI 11. Didn't do anything special, just connected as normal.
I have Al00 Chinese version.

Did you find the solution my friend I have the same problem
Same problem here. Whatever Emui 11 does, it changes sth in the device, that can´t be unchanged, even when you downgrade the device.
I have two P30s (ELE-L29) here and tried both of them. Device One got the Emui 11 and Emui 12 upgrade, Device Two was always in Emui 9. Device Two with Emui 9 has no problem with "cheap" usb cables, HDB or connecting to computer.
Device One however, that received the Emui 11 or above upgrades (anything including 11.0.0.159(C431E11R2P3) and above), can´t connect to the phone with "cheap" usb cables, when the OS is Emui 10 or Emui 9. BUT! It still connects, if you use high quality good cables. The cheap cables only get recognized again. when the phone has Emui 11 or 12 again. It is definitely NOT a hardware Problem. Also I tested with various cheap and high quality usb cables. Huawei changed something with the 11.0.0.159(C431E11R2P3) update; so DO NOT UPDATE your phones to that version or above. It´s not worth it, the EMUI 11 and 12 versions really suck.

Hey guys,
Just last week my Nexus stopped connecting to the PC. First it wouldn't even charge or show the phone in explorer.
I tried bending the connector back up and it started charging again. But it still won't connect in explorer.
Drivers shouldn't have changed but I've tried reinstalling and still nothing. Tried different cables, nothing. Tried different ports, nothing.
EDIT: I was trying to avoid it but I've tried a factory reset and reflash of PA2.99... still nothing.
So I'm a bit stuck right now. Anyone have suggestions?
Have tried searching and the like.
On a different note, possibly related. I bought a Nexus 7 today and tried to unlock and root. Fastboot drivers aren't working. Tried several different packages and methods. No dice. Followed instructions etc.
Thanks

linux/windows/mac?
can you see your device in 'fastboot devices'?
can you see your device in 'adb devices', while running android or a custom recovery?
check if there's an updated version of fastboot/adb (not sure what OS you're using)
There seems to be quite a large percentage of these phones where the USB port breaks down. Mine was one of them. I had charging issues and my PC didn't recognize my phone. I still had a guarantee and I had it fixed.

64bit windows 7.
Tried with the latest adb/fastboot drivers.
Not recognized in either. Doesnt show up in any device manager.
The only way i know the phone has some form of connection is that the charging icon comes on.
Starting to think its the port that's broken some how. Bought the phone online back just after release so I doubt I'd be able to get a replacement.
Using airdroid at the moment to backup and transfer files around but thinking I might need to think about a new phone soon.

I'm sorry to hear that, but IMO, yeah, i think you should start looking for a new phone. Don't keep valuable data on this one.
Same issue here. I just UPSed mine to Samsung under warranty. They better fix it, since it's their hardware issue. The phone support kept telling me they were going to reflash it. Good luck doing that without access to USB.

Oh well, thanks for the replies everyone. There doesn't seem to be anything that I haven't tried to get it working. Unless I missed something. Doesn't seem like I did though from the replies so far.
All I want to do is flash back to stock, I feel like I am gonna lose my my mind or go buy a new phone. I have mostly spent a solid 10 hours of time trying to get it to work.
I have been endlessly looking, searching, trying all these different methods to get my ls980 to connect to my pc. So basically everytime I have hooked it up it comes up as unreconized or unknown device doesn't connect.
List of things: Latest LG mobile drivers I have installed them through there exe and tried to install them manually when the ! comes up on the device. I have tried my laptop and my desktop every usb in all of them. I have tried the stock cable, and about 8 other different cables. I have tried it in debugging mode with mtp and without debugging. I tried the support tool as well. Tried composite usb setting.
I guess I am at a loss at this point to what even to try besides sending it to be repaired. Which I don't feel like it's a phone problem and I am just missing something I can't find, I say this because the phone charges perfectly fine and no damage to the usb port at all. If anyone has good information or just a direction I can go will be greatly appericated.

It works just fine, only notable thing that I never figured out was why OTA updates don't ever take, it's still on ZVC. I tried the T-mobile d802 drivers as it was suggested by another post I saw on here.

Correct, I uninstalled them, tried new ones a couple different ways from other posts, and removed them and tried again. Right now I just have them all uninstalled. Trying to figure out if it's something that's stopping it. In error I did forget that a couple times it reconized it but would :fail to start code 10.

Long story short, it's on ZVC, even with other updates that came up it would never update past it. I took it into sprint several times they didn't know why, I did root it as one guy said that was an option, I used stump root, but then I unrooted as I felt I was getting into something too complicated. It is on the sprint network, about 90% of the time and all the times I tried to update previous to the root/unroot. But I am not trying to update it since the root, mostly trying to restore to stock and start overish.
I'm thinking maybe a virtual machine with Linux might find it. If it can then there is something. And maybe we can redo the partitions and such.

As for driver removal, one thing I remember with the nexus devices. There is wugfresh nrt, nexus root toolkit. Let me see which application or program they loaded for removal before reinstall of drivers. I know they have 2 places you check into.
Dang, I'll have to try to load them via a windows emulator. I'm running Linux right now.

DM-verity is a non issue with MTP/fastboot/adb. It's usually related to the USB cable or port itself, or a driver issue (fastboot/adb or device).
When you connect and toggle the USB setting to MTP, toggle it to charge only then to MTP again. I've noticed in the past that it takes longer for the PC to recognize or it requires a second try.

Hi,
When I connect my ZF2 to the PC, I get an error saying USB device not recognized.
Here are some of the troubleshooting steps I've done:
Tried another cable
Tried another pc
Made sure USB debugging is enabled
Select USB configuration is set to MTP
Made sure ASUS drivers are installed an up to date
Uninstalled drivers from device manager
Updated drivers from device manager
Charging port works (even fast charges when I use the right cable)
SD card slot works
Had a technician replace the entire charging board (pcb board)
Specs:
ZOOA 2gb/16gb
Running 6.0.1
CM13 20161219 Nightly
Also, i'm thinking of restoring my phone back to original stock (that's why I would like to be able to connect it to pc) but if there is a way to put it back to stock without the need of a pc, i'm all ears for it. I'd like to give the stock ASUS updates and software a chance now cause ever since I got the phone, I have been on custom ROMs.
I'm running out of ideas.

Also, am just curious. Are you also using a zf2 right now? Are you on stock or custom ROM? Since CM13 has been discontinued, i was thinking of switching ROMs. Any particular ROM that you would recommend?

I tried the instructions but when I get to step # 6, i do not have standard MTP device on the choices.

Hi,
Can you point me to an instructional video on how to install a fresh copy of cm13? I just wanna make sure that I do the right steps.
Also, am just curious. Are you also using a zf2 right now? Are you on stock or custom ROM? Since CM13 has been discontinued, i was thinking of switching ROMs. Any particular ROM that you would recommend?

You install like normal , like you did with your current cm13.
What is your ifwi version in Boot loader ?

Interesting thing here is under developer options, when i try to change the select usb configuration, it does not let me choose anything aside from charging.

reboot to bootloader and what ifwi version is it ?
If over a year ago you will have LP version .
I will link you to the appropriate thread soon as we determine the correct ifwi.
Just as a side not , lots of people have had the same bug
I think its a driver issue that windows update have blocked
..

This is the 3rd time i ask for your IFWI version ?
You said its been a year since you installed CM13 , and the chances of you having M BL is virtually none existant
You probably have the LP version of M :good:
Unless someone magically sneaked in your home whilst asleep about July and upgraded your bootloader and installed 3.0.2M twrp.
The reason i asked for your IFWI version.
reboot to bootloader and what ifwi version does it say it is there ??????????

Apologies. I do not know how to what IFWI version I have. How do I check?
You probably have the LP version of M -- I probably have the lollipop version of Marshmallow?
I am not really well versed with the terminologies now but if you could show me how to check the IFWI version, that'd be great.

Thank you.
To check if my device is recognized in fastboot, I should connect phone to PC via cable and then reboot to bootloader, correct? I'll do that when I get home.
Would you recommend STOCK or a CUSTOM ROM yourself?
I need some help because I am puzzled on what to do. The other night, I tried to change roms on my Pixel XL. I'm used to being able to just flash everything once in whatever order and be fine (it was much simpler years ago when I got started with modding).
Anyways, I flashed FireHound rom and gapps, but forgot the vendor. I flashed twrp and that put me into a bootloop. It would reboot back into recovery each time. So I reflashed Pixel Dust, the rom I was on before, since I didn't have a backup. I forgot to make one. Lol.
Flashed the vendor, rom, and twrp. Rebooted to a clean rom. However, I'm not rooted. I attempt to go back to twrp - and I can't. It goes straight to Android recovery/ no command screen. I can't get back into twrp.
Since this, I downloaded the newest factory image so I could just reflash and start over and fix it. But I cannot connect to any computer. I've tried multiple cables, multiple computers, and each time I get a "USB device not recognized" error. Device manager shows my device as "Unknown USB device (device descriptor request failed)." I've attempted to reinstall/update the USB drivers, windows won't update it because it says it's already up to date. Windows 10 is what I'm using.
So I am stuck. Can anyone help me? Or did I completely screw everything up?
Thanks in advance,
Sam

Thanks, I tried that. Still nothing different.
Do you get any response on the phone when in bootloader and USB cable is plugged in?
Have you checked to make sure that your adb/fastboot programs are at the latest revision?

I've updated the adb/fastboot versions from the sdk. I've updated the USB drivers. Or attempted to. And I get no response from the phone when in any mode.
Got any friends with a Linux machine? It's been ages since I used Windows to talk to my phone. I'll plug it in when I get home, though, to see if my phone is recognized.

No I don't. But I suppose I could set up a Linux virtual machine and try it that way. It's been a while since I've used Linux. You think it could work?

I'm not sure. I think a virtual box would still use the windows drivers. Good luck.

I was referring to Linux not a virtual machine. Sorry if I confused you.
