Bricked XT1799-2 - Moto G5S Questions & Answers

I flashed what turned out to be a non compatible ROM on my g5s xt1799-2. All data was wiped and TWRP is gone along with the stock recovery. I get the message about my device has been unlocked and cant be trusted.....bad key. When I restart it goes to bootloader . When I select recovery it goes back to the message.
I have installed the ADB drivers, ADB fastboot, Qualicom and Motorola drivers. With phone connected to Windows PC in bootloader mode it makes the connection sound. But the phone does not show up using ADB, RSD lite, or Qualicom Flash Image loader, or in my computer.
If I could just get the PC to recognize the phone I could proceed with a fix. Any ideas, or is the phone toast?

If PC makes a sound when connecting it will be in device manager, but maybe hidden in a collapsed section.

My defy does not recignized by RSD lite or motorola update

When i connect to pc rsd lite does not recignize my phone.
I installed the drivers. I think the problem can be that my defy automatically connects to phone portal.
Im using CM7 1.5.
So did you try to connect in bootloader mode ?
Also which versions of RSD, motorola drivers do you use ?
Is USB Debugging checked ?
RSD lite : 5.3.1
motohelper 2.0.53 driver 5.2.0
I think I tried in bootloader mode ( rebooted into bootloader mode in cm7)
should i do something in bootloader mode?
---------- Post added at 09:01 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 AM ----------
usb debugging : unchecked
Then check it and try again with RSD.
Or just follow the downgrade steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1054447
As I suppose that what you're trying to do is downgrading.
I had the same problem until I manually went to boot loader mode (press hold vol up then power up phone method).
Don't know why but from the boot option in cm7 1.5 it just wouldn't see phone.
Hope that helps.
Try with RSD 4.9...Works in my case
Edit:
Also try installing drivers on some other computer...But first install drivers, than connect mobile phone...I had strange situation when only one of my 4 computers worked with moto drivers and RSD
Have you ever had a sony ericsson phone attached to your computer? I had the same problem,.the only fix I found was to re install windows, or use a pc that had never had sony ericsson software on.

Now this is an efficient way to beat the market without the need for patent wars
Installing drivers is quite a pain on a Windows system. Try uninstalling everything related to Motorola and reinstall drivers with USB debugging enabled.

I tried all of the suggestions but does not work.
Which boot mode should I be in the bootloader mode?
Can I update or downdate a sooner verion of cm7 or 2.2 which works with rsd lite or something?
The MTP driver never gets installed. always fails.
I found that I couldn't get RSD to work correctly unless:
1. I was logged in as Administrator.
2. The SDF file was either on the desktop or in the root main drive.
3. Only RSD 4.9 works for my system (Vista)
Cheers!
when I connect my phone through bootloader should I hear the usb plug in sound in my PC? cuz I dont hear anything , only when I share the drivers / system on android boot menu.

Do not confuse bootloader for bootmenu. You should hold down Vol+ while powering on your device to enter the bootloader. Once connected to the PC it should say USB connected on the phone display. And on the PC open RSD lite in order to check if it has detected the device. There is no sound.

ohh thanks
I counfused theese two.
But now i have an other problem. In RSD lite it says : executed 100% , in progress, Please manually turn on the phone. But now the android logo shows only and I can 't turn off the phone.
I pull out the battery and turned on but still only the android logo shows...
Try to wipe data and cache through stock recovery. If it wont still boot flash the 2.2 SBF again. After the flashing process let the phone boot up by itself as first boot takes time.

thank you
everything is fine

[Unrooting] fastboot does not detect OP3, while adb does

For the past few days I've been trying to pass SafetyNet with root and after I failed, I tried to unroot my phone as passing SafetyNet is more important to me than having root. In the processing of doing so, I messed up some things on my device. I flashed all uninstalllers of SuperSU, Xposed, Magisk and other stuff I flashed through TWRP and deleted all SU files in bin and xbin. It removed root but I still wasn't able to pass safety net. I then messed up somehow and removed my TWRP and now when I try to access recovery it simply boots up my phone. I decided it would be the best to simply reset my phone using fastboot and adb (maybe even lock the bootloader again?). Fastboot however, cannot detect my device while abd can (not in the bootloader menu though). I have searched arround on the internet, have installed tons of drivers, reinstalled the SDK + Android Studio,... but I can't seem to get it work. When my device is booted up, it shows in Device Manager as "ONEPLUS A3003" and when in fastboot mode, it shows as "Android Bootloader Interface". Updating the drivers doesn't help. Would love if someone was able to help me out here!
The problem is the last update windows 10. You need to connect your phone in fastboot mode to your PC. Then go to the Device Manager, find there KEDACOM USB Device, clicked and appears in the ANDROID BOOTLOADER INTERFACE. Click on it right mouse button, put the Update Driver Software, then search for drivers on the computer, then select DRIVERS FROM THE LIST and select FASTBOOT INTERFACE (USB GOOGLE ID).

Got it working with your help! Had to completely remove the drivers first and than put my PC into flight mode though, because Windows 10 would keep reinstalling the drivers. Thanks for your help!

Lenovo Zuk Z2 not detected by PC

Hello, (I'm new here so forgive me if I am not very clear) I have a Lenovo Zuk Z2 also known as Lenovo Z2 Plus (Indian ROM) I'm trying to flash TWRP on it, but the problem is that my PC isn't detecting my mobile in ADB the list comes up empty, I have installed ADB and Fasboot driver's latest version and also turned USB Debugging on placed the bootloader unlocker in the directory too, if I give command to reboot the bootloader the PC tells me that "null" device is detected, also when I connect it in PC my phone doesn't even ask for USB Debugging permission. I checked it in devices and it shows that adb interface driver not installed, if I manually search for adb driver I niether find ADB devices nor Android Device. Can anybody please help me?
Install zuk cdrom file and restart pc
Same Here
I'm on Ubuntu 16.10 and Windows 10 (dual booted) but adb isn't working on either of them. I also installed the zuk driver from the Zuk Z2 plus Cdrom image.
Here is what comes up on lsusb https://www.dropbox.com/s/swen1h7os956gw2/lsusb.png?dl=0
The Highlighted device is the Zuk Z2 Plus .
But on running adb devices nothing shows up

Help!
My z2 is getting connected to the PC but it's not showing in my computer
I have Windows 8.1
Windows 8/8.1/10 connection
I had the same problem with detecting HTC one M7 and Zuk Z2 on adboot. Problem persisted for much time on M7 until I finally found a solution. There was a patch online which made changes to registry. Only then adbdevices command was successful for the first time. Try coming the net for windows 8/10 patch file for it. Dont have that file now. Maybe try this xda thread file https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-s/general/guide-fix-fastboot-windows-8-1-t2858337

Moto G Fast - Rooting & ROM Help/Suggestions

Hey Everyone,
I've posted before but the thread died down and I'd really like to figure this out just for curiosity sake. A couple of months ago I purchased a Moto G Fast as my first root/Custom ROM phone and was never able to get the boot loader unlocked. I have the Android SDK downloaded, the Motorola drivers downloaded, USB debugging enabled, USB mode set to data transfer, etc. However, every time I try to unlock the bootloader the phone is not detected by the Android SDK. My computer detects a device, but does not know what kind of device it is. On the phone itself I never get prompted for a USB connection (from what I understand you usually get a "trusted device" prompt). I've tried this on both Linux (Manjaro) and Windows with the same result (or lack thereof). Also, just to be clear, I am booting the phone into fastboot when trying to unlock the boot loader. Does anyone have any help or suggestions? Also, I'm not sure which ROM to go with. I'd like to run Lineage on the phone but it does not appear that this phone is supported in Lineage 17. Any ROM suggestions as well?
Thank you so much for any suggestions. I appreciate any help that can be offered.

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction. Currently pouring over this info as we speak. At first I was inclined to think that this phone simply could not be unlocked (bought from Amazon marketplace and unlocked for all carriers), but even if that were the case the phone should still at least show up as a device either within my PC device or within the Android SDK command line tools. Perhaps I am wrong?

If you are connecting the phone to PC while already in bootloader mode, you don't need USB debugging enabled or USB mode set to data transfer.
There won't be a "trusted device" prompt if device is in bootloader mode.
If windows makes a connecting sound, it will be listed in device manager, if the bootloader screen doesn't show usb connected, that's a problem
Could be a bad usb cable, or bad usb port on the phone.
But none of that may matter, in settings/about phone it should say which software channel it's on something like Amazon, Retail US,
or it may say on the bootloader screen in the baseband or bootloader version.

Software Channel returns as "US Retail" and Software Variant returns as "Retus" (which I think is normal?) Should I turn USB debugging off and the boot into fastboot?

You should be able to unlock US Retail, the usb settings don't matter in bootloader, but it's not in fastbootd is it?
What does the fastboot screen say?

I apologize for the delay on this. The end of the week got pretty hectic at work.
To answer your question, the fastboot boot menu reads as follows:
AP Fastboot Flash Mode (Secure) - In red text
BL: MBM-3.0-rav-retus-c7bbc04d8e-210215
Baseband
Product/Variant
Serial Number
CPU
eMMC
DRAM
Console (NULL): null
Tools Mode Config: DISABLED
Power OK - in green text
oem_locked
Transfer Mode: USB Connected
The sections that are lacking in detail are sections I figured weren't relevant since they are phone specific (hardware) sections.

So I went through that post and installed the Smart Assistant. I attempted rescue but the application simply does not detect the phone in fastboot mode or in debug mode. I am not sure what the issue could be. I should probably just send this phone back and get a different phone.
