Copy the userdata of kodi onto your firetv /android... kodi folder. I am not close to the firetv to tell you the exact folder location but i don't know why it wouldn't work.
I would also suggest to copy addons foder
Hi
I am using a Amazon Fire TV with Kodi and an external harddrive which is connected to the amazon fire TV
Is it possible to run something like a Samba Server on the Fire TV? I would like to have a networkshare of the attached harddrive so I can put files on this from the other computers.
Is this possible and ist there any stable implementation for this?
Probably the "Servers Ultimate Pro" app from the Amazon app store can help. AFAIK it supports SMB/CIFS (aka SAMBA) as server.
ok I can't load this from amazon app store it says not supported for Fire TV but maybe I can sideload this.

You'll most likely need to sideload, not sure amazon has an smb app. I use samba file sharing from playstore.
Will a micro sd card work as a general external storage drive in the Fire TV box. I have lots of movies and mp3's which I plan to transfer to the card. Could I use VLC or similar media player to play these over kodi on the box. I know there is a limit of 128Gb card size but are there any other formatting issues or restrictions? Is it just a case of copying the files to the card on my pc and inserting it into the box. Thanks

How to partially or entirely move Kodi data to external USB or MicroSD storage
(Too new to post a link)
Once moved you can store all your Kodi library there.
Thanks Bevnrick, but this guide refers to moving kodi files and apps from the Fire TV box to micro sd. I'm just looking to play existing media files (mkv, mp4, etc) stored on the micro sd using Plex, VLC, etc whilst it's inserted in the micro sd slot of the Fire TV box.
If it's possible are the any limitations of file type/size or any lagging issues? Which app is best for this? Thanks

You can use VLC for Android, but I prefer to just use Kodi to view the files, VLC is good but I find Kodi has a better visual experience & doesn't interfere with other apps like VLC does with Mouse Toggle for Fire Tv (if you use it?). You may just need to find (browse) the files & if you want you can add them to a shortcut to your Kodi main screen.
Hope this helps
the MicroSD in the Fire TV 2 only accepts Fat32 format, so maximum file size you can have is a 4GB. Might be a work around for this, I don't own the 2nt gen Fire TV so i don't pay much attention to what people do for it.
I have one of the new fire tv sticks and it works great. I've added ES Explorer and kodi and am exploring the stick's capabilities but - with memory as inexpensive as it is - limiting anything to just 8GB seems ridiculous. So, is there any way to expand the Fstick2 memory? I don't see a usb socket.

Wow! Thank you!
Hi!
Is there any way to be able to store (legal) Amazon Music or video on the device (or sd or USB Stcik attached) like you can do with the the "normal" Amazon apps on an Android phone?
The Apps for Music & Video on the Stick obviously do not allow to buffer / store contents offline.
So can one patch them or use APK versions from "normal" Android devices? (Tried with APK from my phone and from my Fire HD, but APK did not install or ran but said it could not connect).
Thanks for any hint!
