Okay, so I took the plunge and flashed froyo to my defy.
3.4.3-3Signed tmobile uk and shock horror no market installed.
After many attempts to reinstall market, update.zip failed check, adb push failed despite being root as read only media (yes I could have remounted rw but it kept restarting when usb debug is on), several wipes all lead to force close issues.
I noticed two things, 1st by default when adding your google account if you have a gmail address not a googlemail address be sure to type the full address in . by default it append googlemail.com not gmail
Installed market 2.2.6 from sdcard but still forceclose issues, flashed 3.4.3-11_BLUR_SIGN no reset market now works

All credits to Nemesis][, his app Click creates mountable encrypted drives, which IF during creation will be set as FAT/Fat32 - are fully compatible with PC FreeOTFE.
Requirements:
- root;
- busybox (I tested with 1.18.4 - works, 1.19.x - does not)
- supporting kernel (works with stock JVT from ramad's thread as well as CF and speedmod)
Created that way file, containing the mountable encrypted with AES partition, *.vol, if moved to PC - can be read by FreeOTFE. Same way: file created as Fat32, AES encrypted by PC FreeOTFE - is mountable by LUKS Manager.
And, girls and boys, it works...
Can't update/install anything ..
"Insufficient Space" or "Out of Space" ...
what's crazy is that it seems that this only happens for apps i either already have or apps that I once had in the past (either that, or it's just random that I was able to install another file that was BIGGER than the update that said insufficient space).
I tried wiping cache, wiping dalvik cache, factory reset, and wiped my internal SD and let it rebuild itself.
Seemed fine until I finally got everything back to where it once was.
I'm going a bit crazy over this ... please help!! I've tried so many things. Why is this happening and how do I resolve this issue?
EDIT (Extra Info):

ALSO,
I tried to clear Google Play Store, tried downgrading to factory play store, and tried clearing the data from Google Play Store and nothing different happened for my issue.

RIGHT NOW,
After finding these new threads, I'm trying to mess with lucky patcher, then i'll try reinstalling gapps if failed. I'll return here and update.
-- Update: Market Fix app didn't fix
-- Update: Lucky Patcher didn't do anything by "just opening it" like someone suggested ... anything specific to click?
-- Update: Tried rebooting after the above 2, still nothing new.
-- Update: Tried reflashing the latest gapps through goomanager, nothing.
-- Update: Tried removing google account and adding it back, nothing.
-- CURRENT: Trying to search for odex files with EF File Explorer (+Root Explorer RW), but still saying "File cannot be deleted"? I just searched for "odex" .. it's safe to delete all odex files, right?

This is because you have an ODEX file hanging around from your previous app install.

Isn't this the one that's solved by going into your accounts in the main settings and removing your Google account and the readding it?
I remember getting it A LONG time ago..

Nope, didn't work.
BUT as for the odex guy , this seems promising! I found odex files, but can't delete. Access denied using ES File Explorer (the two root explorer options are both +RW). How come i can't delete these?

Hey man, any idea how to delete these without getting "program cannot be deleted" error? I thought ES File Explorer would do the trick.
Also, should i just do a search for "odex" then delete all odex files?
I'm seeing program-bcd7-LOTS_OF_CHARACTERS.dex.odex from /data/data/
No! Delete those and you'll probably not be able to boot. You'll wind up having to reflash your Rom or firmware.
What are you currently running? Rooted?

If you want to, ONLY delete odex files for any app you've already uninstalled. Root is required to do this though.

Hi there guys,
From my time being on Android, I've come across a few errors that say they don't have enough "space" and this is usually down to SD card errors - but in this instant I'm completely stumped. To the point I think it is a very very bad virus.
Mum's phone: Note 2 - SIM unlocked, bought outright - she's been using it for over a year now
Symptom: When trying to open ANY picture (be it screenshot ON or OFF the EXT SD card - the erro (attached) crops up.
Things I've tried:
-Changing folder location of the camera app
-Clearing cache for camera, my files and gallery
-Clearing dalvik and cache in recovery
-Removing EXT SD card (with safe to remove and pulling out suddenly)
One thing I've noticed: I CANNOT move the DCIM folder. It says it "cannot be copied/deleted/moved"
The DCIM folder in "My Files" in fact doesn't exist as a folder - looks like a .DAT file - and when trying to click for details on the folder - it force closes the "my files"
One thing that's curious is that she can get the photos OFF her phone and view them on her PC without any problems.
I thus think the phone has a virus (also because there was two apps installed on there, which I've never seen before - apps that are from the play store, but apps I've never installed nor imagine my mum installing them)
Any ideas?
My only trail of thought is:
TB up and factory reset the phone.
-Dubbed
(Dead zone) - no one care to help?
I just completely wiped the phone, even wiped the system - re-flashed the ROM from scratch - as I restore the apps - the "gallery FC" what the beep is going on - I've had enough of these crap Samsung phones!!!!!
[Q]dropbox show "thumbnail failed to load" or "strorage full or unavailable"
[Q]dropbox show "thumbnail failed to load" or "strorage full or unavailable"
My phone is galaxy SPH-L710, android 4.4.2, I cannot use dropbox, it shows "thumbnail failed to load" when I click photo, and shows "strorage full or unavailable" when I click office file.
I have tried factory-reset, it did not help. the my dropbox works fine in other android devices or ipad.
could someone help me to resolve this issue? thanks a lot!
I resolved the issue.
I received the same model phone (SPH-L710 with rooted Android 4.4.2 + TWRP 2.7.x) from FreedomPop last Dec. 2014 and had two issues with the FreedomPop installation.
- TWRP 2.7.x (installed by FreedomPop) didn't work properly. Didn't show partition.
- FreedomPop ROM 4.4.2 didn't allow 3rd party apps to write anything to internal SD card (/storage/emulated/0).
The second issue caused a lot of problems on many applications to me, including your problem. Here are several symptoms I experienced with the FreedomPop ROM (4.4.2).
- Viewing image on Dropbox failed. (Thumbnails failed to load).
- Saving offline map in Google navigation failed.
- Minecraft did not start up properly (and several other games).
- Viewing image received in KakaoTalk failed.
- Downloading podcast in Podcast Republic app didn't work.
- ... and probably many more. Basically any 3rd party application saving anything into internal SD card (not external SD card, it worked fine) failed.
Here is the summary of what I followed to fix all the problems.
1. Re-installed Sprint stock ROM 4.4.2 (don't go back to any lower version) by following http://www.rwilco12.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=716. This fixed the SD card permission issue completely.
Changes:
- The OS became unrooted (It will be rooted again by #2)
- TWRP was removed (It will be installed again by #3)
- The operator name was 'Sprint' (It will be changed to 'FreedomPop' by #4)
- The 4G/3G worked with Sprint network, good.
- The standard phone/messaging apps didn't work. (It will be fixed by #5)
2. Rooted the phone by following http://www.idigitaltimes.com/samsun...rint-sph-l710-variant-and-install-custom-roms. This is required to use TWRP Manager app in step #3.
Changes:
- The phone is now rooted. Use Root Checker app to verify the result.
3. Installed TWRP Manager app from Google Play. Installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 using TWRP Manager app (no lower, no higher than this. Use 2.6.3.0). Note the default version TWRP 2.7.x didn't work properly. This is used in step #4.
Changes:
- You are able to reboot into TWRP recovery from TWRP Manager app, or using volumn up-power-home buttons.
4. Applied APN fix by following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2798619. Used ES File Explorer to copy "Freedompop APNs fix.zip" to phone. Used TWRP to flash/install the zip.
Changes:
- The operator name is displayed as 'FreedomPop'.
5. Installed FreedomPop apps from Google play
Changes:
- The dialer for voice call is replaced with FreedomPop's one.
- A new app FreedomPop Messaging is installed for SMS.
Now, all the issues are fixed:
- SD card issues fixed (so all 3rd party apps are now working fine including Dropbox)
- 4G/3G network is available as before.
- Voice service is available as before with the same number I received from FreedomPop.
- SMS is available as before.
