I've been looking all over the Internet about enabling Voice over WiFi on the 7T with the Global ROM. I've found several sites talking about the 7T Pro or 7 Pro, and I've tried those techniques and was able to get the voice over WiFi setting to show up, but when I toggle it on, it is turned off again the next time I enter the Sim menu. I've verified with Verizon that Voice over WiFi is turned on for my phone, my phone is registered in their DMD, so everything should be good on their end. It just seems to be an issue with my ROM not allowing me to use it. I apologize if this has been answered but I couldn't find one for the 7T that matched my situation.
Alternately, this was originally a T-Mobile phone that I converted to the Global ROM. How would I go about converting this phone to the regular US ROM (from here, for example) to see if that would fix my issue? I don't really *need* the Global ROM, I just installed it because that's what the conversion guides to get off the T-Mobile ROM prescribed.
I wouldn't expect the us rom to work for your issue if the global one does not. I'd also note that I find vowifi with it to be finicky without any display on why it might be failing. I have 2 sims in mine, and its well known now that one can't get vowifi working without the primary data sim being the sim you want to do vowifi. but even when I do that (and even set primary calling sim to the tmobile one), it more often than not, doesn't connect via wifi (i.e. pop up the icon). It has worked (i.e. I have been able to get the icon and place calls while in airplane mode to the US while overseas), but it hasn't proven to be reliable. Then again, it wasn't reliable either with just a t-mobile sim and the t-mobile rom. I just wish there were some logs that would say what was failing.

What process did you follow to get yours working?
I don't have verizon, as I noted. as I said, I would play around, set primary data and calling sims to the # I wanted for vowifi. Put it in airplane mode, turn on wifi. sometimes that would force the vowifi to come on / sometimes not. take it out of airplane mode. sometimes that did it hen the previous step did not, sometimes not. rinse and repeat.
I mostly gave up on it for now. The only US number I give out is my google voice # anyways, so it doesn't make a huge difference.

I only have one sim, so I don't think the issue is with it not knowing which is the primary. I tried the airplane mode trick but it just said I had no connection to dial. The issue with me is until I did the little hack shown here: (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/guide-enable-volte-vowifi-on-all-devices-no-root.4105817/), I never even had the VoWiFi option, but even when I got it, it wouldn't stay enabled. I was thinking the US ROM would help because I am in the US and my carriers are all in the US. I felt like the Global ROM maybe wasn't compatible with Verizon or something.
Bonus question: Is there an easy way to search within a single thread on this forum? I can only find how to search all the forums and it makes it difficult to zero in on information.
Verizon DOES NOT support VoWiFi on the 7T. So far as I know they do not allow vowifi over their network on any non-verizon branded phone.
VoWiFi turns on, fails to get the proper authorization from Verizon to use their network, turns back off.
Even with the 1+ 8, the VZW model is the only one with vowifi on their network. I was told that it was due to “security concerns” since non-vzw phones didn't go through VZW testing.
Bonus answer: this is for website, not app.

Thank you for the Search help, of course it requires clicking the button I'm so used to typing and hitting enter I don't even click those anymore.
On the Verizon VoWiFi, I wonder if results may vary on that, because they had told me it was enabled for my IMEI. Of course, that is largely dependent on the rep you get, I'm sure. But at minimum, I'd at least like to have the option to try it. Plus when I travel abroad, I would like to be able to turn it on for other carriers there as well. I did find another route that involves using PDC to manually enable it, but I'm going to have to root the phone for that. I'm not using the phone yet, so now is the time to play with it I appreciate your answer though, it may be for nothing, but I've got the mind of an engineer, you can't tell us no
I was unable to get either VOWIFI or SMS to work when I bought my unlocked 1907 7t (with global rom from factory) to work on Verizon. (Despite all the guides to do as such)
I both messaged them on their platform and called several times. Every time was same shtick. Them: "Phone doesn't support all features" Me: "Yes it does, has all bands, please add IMEI to database and turn on cdma-less provisioning" Them "Ok, hold please..." 5 min later... "Ok it should enable within 24 hours...when should we call you?" Me: "Same time tomorrow is fine" Them: "Ok, then"...24 hours later... no call, I call, repeat, no change.
They honestly just lie/yes man you to appease you until you give up/satisfied with their programmed responses. They have no intention of going out of their way in any technical capacity (Esp. if you're prepaid) and being forthcoming with their policy to only activate "Verizon Phones" on their network will never deliver a technical reason (this band/that band, etc...) This was not the first time I've had to attempt technical workarounds (on another global unlocked LG phone) , which also failed (on their end). They are an incredibly dishonest company imho.
So I got a T-mobile sim and it works great! (vowifi perfect!) I keep the old Verizon one in the second sim slot, just in case I want to punish myself at some point in the future ;0
See, my SMS works fine. That's why I say it seems to depend on the rep you get. I'm just really curious if I could get around the carrier block OnePlus has apparently put in place for VoWiFi (per their customer service), if I could get it working still.

There is some sort of certification or something baked into VZW phones that their network looks for when you try to connect via VoWiFi. If that is missing VZW's network will not let you connect even if customer service ”activated” it.
It's not a carrier block 1+ put in place, it's a “not VZW certified” block that Verizon put in place.

Oh, I see. Idk what OnePlus was talking about then, because they literally said they block VoWiFi if it's not T-Mobile.

Hey all, I've been pouring over the forums here and other places trying to find a solution to my issue. I just got a Pixel 2XL the verizon version and I'm using it on Straight Talk with an AT&T sim card. So far so good except I cannot get wifi calling. I'm pure stock, android 9/Pie, no bootloader unlocks/rooting etc. The wifi calling option does not exist in the phone app nor in the settings anywhere. Even when you search for wifi calling, it simply takes you to the network and connections section of settings but wifi calling is no where to be found. I've tried the adb command (the one that apparently used to work on Oreo but not longer does on Pie) and that didn't work (though I didn't expect it to since many people said it no longer works on Pie). I have an Unlocked Note 9 as well and its wifi calling works perfectly fine so does anyone have a way to make this work? Reception at my home is somewhat lacking and I really need wifi calling.
Thanks!

Could you attach a screenshot with the WHOLE section of "Mobile Network", found inside of "Network & Internet" in the Settings -- make sure that you click on the drop down menu next to "Advanced Calling" -- this will help make sure that wifi calling is really missing as well as might point something out that may help with a solution. Moreso, personally, because I can't even imagine what the settings menu looks like missing this...

It might be a long shot but try checking the settings in the Google phone app. There should be a place that says configure IMS calling. I have this setting here and in the network settings. If you have it that's where you can enable wifi calling.

Been there done that. I have no options for setting up IMS calling. I only have SIP options. Also, I have tried the phone dialer trick (where you dial *#*#4636#*#*) and that shows the wifi calling option as a toggle but its greyed out and cannot be enabled. I even tried an adb trick that used to work on the 1st gen pixels, but to no avail.
What happens when you enter your information here?
I'll have to initiate a chat with Straight Talk. Like you I have a Pixel 2 XL with a Straight Talk AT&T SIM. The only difference is that mine is unlocked. I just ran my phone number and the IMEI of the SIM through the linked site and it tells me my device is not compatible. Since I have a BYOP SIM and the IMEI is of the SIM itself, chances are high that the SIM needs replacing with one that includes WiFi calling support.
EDIT: According to the representative I just spoke with, there's no guarantee that changing to a newer AT&T SIM will enable the feature. The only guaranteed method according to tech support is switching to a T-Mobile SIM.

Hey thanks for the help. I tried that link as well (before I posted here; sorry I should have mentioned it) and it said my device is also not compatible. I initiated a chat with them and they told me the same; switch to T-Mobile. I am tempted to do so but the one thing holding me back is my home is already a place I get poor signal and T-mobile's coverage while much improved still isn't as good at AT&T's. I realize that having wifi calling would fix any lingering signal issues but I do manage to get 1-2 bars of 3G at my house with AT&T, I figure I won't even get that with T-Mobile. So I am weary of the switch. I'll have to consider it though. I could also wait for the full rollout of the latest google voice (since it finally is bring VOIP without the need of hangouts) and just use that number instead.
So I contacted Straight Talk and ordered a T-Mobile sim card. It'll be here in a few days. I will post my findings after it arrives. Straight talk support says wifi calling works with all T-Mobile sim cards so we will see.
Hello all,
Okay, so I finally got switched over to a T-Mobile sim card (again still with straight talk). It took a while cause I had to buy a new one (the old one I had expired; who'd have thought?). Anyways, switching to T-Mobile solved all my problems and then some. Not only do I have Wifi calling, but also HD voice, VOLTE, Tethering, and 3-4 bars of LTE (previously on AT&T, I got 1-2 bars of 3G). I realize the signal issues is merely a coverage thing but I can say with certainty that switching to a T-Mobile sim card will give you all the advanced features. I hope this helps others who might experience this problem. I've been using AT&T (in one form or another) for the better part of a decade and can now honestly say, AT&T sucks.
Is your download speed throttled?
Got a great deal on an unlocked Sprint LG G8. Have a few annoying issues that are really bothering me.
I am unable to send and receive photos in text messages. I followed all the instructions to update the APN to be compatible with Tmobile.
Called T-Mobile and they put the IMEI number into their system and played with the settings on their end. They assured me that the photos in sms messages should be going through without issues.
I assume that there no chance to flash Tmobile LG G8 firmware on my LG G8? I was able to do that on my Galaxy S7 Edge. I would like to get wifi calling too. So many issues that are just annoying. One would think LG wouldn't mind letting people flash carrier based firmwares like Samsung does, especially considering that they are struggling with sales and need more customers.
I bought a refurb Sprint Unlocked for my GF to use on ATT. Just got it today and popped my TMO sim in. Didnt call them for anything, let the APNs auto populate and tested the following:
4GLTE+ icon comes up just like on my OnePlus 7 Pro, same # of bars/ signal strength
Calls - even with VOLTE enabled, the indicator says 3G when you make a call (assuming data goes to 3g like it would on sprint on a call but who knows)
VM- Stupid VM and Caller ID app dont work (sprint), but it dials to VM when you hold 1 key
SMS- works fine- sent a msg to a Verizon #
MMS- works fine- sent a pic to an email address
Internet- no issues , didnt do a speed test
Are you able to use LTE Band 71 on T-Mobile using your unlocked Sprint LG G8?
This has been talked about already in another thread but what you do is type ##data# and a menu pops up go tap on the apn and select view. On the top right you see the 3 dots click on it and reset that should do the trick. The reason for not being able to send picture is because the apn cant be edit so the apn is auto and is correct but not the mmsc part.

Tried this after manually entering a few variants of the Tmobile APN settings from Google, at least for me, didn't work. Not sure if other people have had better luck.
Seems like some of the MMS related APN config defaults to sprint urls. SMS, Data, and voice seems fine though.

Yep, I get the sense that the fact the resetting the apn settings from the ##data# menu results in Sprint data populating into some fields and remaining uneditable.. is part of the problem. But can't find a workaround.
The reason I asked was because when i stuck my cricket sim in my sprint g8 the apn were automatic push to the apn settings and i could text and web but couldnt send mms pictures. So i went into the ##data# menu and looked at the apn setting which was correct but when i looked at the mmsc setting it was sprints like yours. After I reseted the apn to default i went back to look at the mmsc and to my amazement it was changed to aiowireless. after i was able to send pictures. Do you have your sim in there? Can you call tmobile to push the apns to you?

That's very good to hear. Were you able to test if 3G/4G HSPA(+) also works for data as it should? You should be able to find the option to use that instead of LTE by going to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Mobile Network->Preferred network type then select GSM only. Then browse the internet and maybe do a speed test--if you have at least 4/5 bars of 4G HSPA+ download speeds should be anywhere from 6-14Mbps. Myself and a few other people have been wondering since that's what you fall to if you don't have a good LTE signal so would greatly appreciate if you could check.
I'm having some disappointing results with the Sprint LG G8 on T-Mobile (Mint) in my home, and wondering if anyone has any experience that might help.
I was able to get data working without any issue after running ##data# and resetting the APN settings, but actual phone call functionality is a different story.
85%+ of the time I'm in my home I'm unable to place outgoing calls and when called my phone goes directly to voicemail. This is despite having decent to good T-Mobile LTE coverage. The obvious conclusion is that I'm getting spotty UMTS signal and/or the phone is not switching effectively between the two radio technologies.
To get any calling at all I had to switch the radio mode to "LTE/UMTS auto (PRL)" in the service menu accessed by *#*#4636#*#* but this also unchecks the VoLTE provisioning slider. When calling works anywhere, the signal icon changes from LTE to 3G.

I appreciate the reply! I tried this and it's about the same for me unfortunately (which is to say, not really working) I did notice that it says voice connection and data connection are both LTE, and I wonder if that's part of the issue.
I have another device that natively works with VoLTE and WiFi Calling on T-Mobile and it works very well in my home, it's just a shame this phone isn't quite there.
I can't make calls via lte or volte. it switches to 3g but at least now it always receives and makes calls.

Found this on reddit. It reset the apn and get a new one. Now i am able to sent and receive mms.
Try ##SCRTN# on one device and see if it fixes it.
(It erases cellular programming and should reactivate automatically after a few minutes)
I have had so many problems with unlocked phones that are carrier specific. There is always some BS that gets screwed up. Unless its a Samsung where you can flash carrier or unbranded firmware I'm done messing with these carrier unlocked phones
Any one manage to get WiFi calling to work? I have a Sprint unlocked phone on mint and wifi calling is the one thing I am missing.
im using the phone with Mint , TMO mvno, and mms send/receive fine. It used fast.t-mobilẹcom APN
So many people on mint I'm with them as well lol
Anyone figure out how to get VoLTE working on T-Mobile? I did find it in what of the hidden menu's I think it was under the ##DATA# > IMS or something like that but it was greyed out for me and couldnt change it.
So I stumbled on the fact the Note 10+ has this feature out of the box a few days ago. It's not in the usual spot for Samsung for me, but when I flipped it on it worked. I've changed nothing, but it no longer turns on (reboot, airplane mode, PRL and Profile Updates. Switch goes to On, It tells me how amazing VOLTE is, but then I don't get the VOLTE symbol in the status bar and still loose data on a call.
Anyone else experience this?
Well for anyone who cares, I have a Sprint Magic Box. I've seen mixed information on it, some places stating that the older Generation units will support VOLTE and it's been rolling out since nearly a year ago, other sites stating only the Gen 3 support it.
I contacted Sprint and they seem to claim the later, that only the Gen 3 supports it. Since I have a Gen 2 they are setting up to swap me to a Gen 3.
So FYI if you have Sprint and no VOLTE, this might be why. If you have Sprint and have VOLTE on a Gen 1 or Gen 2, definitely congrats on hitting the lottery!
Only other thing I can think of is they started updating older units and had issues and stopped. I've had the Gen 2 exactly a year and a couple days.
Edit: From further reading, the magic box software that supports VOLTE is 15.15.50.514 which mine has and it does not support VOLTE. So *shrug* not sure what happened.

odd, the exynos EU/UK version doesn't have a VOLTE symbol but VOLTE works fine on THREE UK out of the box.
I have the unlocked 10+, I have VOLTE on, can place calls and use internet without and issue, but no VOLTE symbol in status bar. Using Xfinity Mobile(Verizon towers).
For my brother's and sisters with an unlocked phone and on AT&T there is hope for us to get VoLTE without wonky work arounds.
I called and called and called and finally got transfered to someone who could do something. Basically AT&T will at first tell you that features like Wifi calling and HD Voice (VoLTE) are only available on AT&T certified devices aka phones you bought from them.
However what they won't tell you is that if you press them hard enough and get the right person they will add your note 10 plus IMEI number to their internal IMEI devices database that allows your phone to get all those sevices.
Now it's not instant they will advise it takes between 24-48 hours and for me it took about 30 but as I was sitting here about 20 min ago I got a notification about a carrier services update and after it applied it I had the VoLTE toggle and wifi calling toggle on my unlocked note 10 plus. I of course turned them on right away and after confirming my e911 address I had wifi calling and shortly after VoLTE started to work.
The difference in call quality between standard cellular and VoLTE blew my damn mind. It's a real shame AT&T plays these games but you can get your IMEI added and get a the features without having to flash the att firmware or do sim swaps.
I haven't tried making a video call as all my contacts have iPhones but supposedly it's enabled now too

With a Gen 1 or Gen 2 magic box? Otherwise you missed the point of the thread entirely.
Now if they could just enable VoLTE on the Galaxy Watch...

The UK version from Samsung does have the symbol, I changed fro EE to 3 over the last couple of days, when I was on EE I got the volte symbol but on 3 I don't, so while the option enables I'm not sure it's actually working. But the same is true with EE I always had 4G+ but on three I only get basic 4G.

I can confirm VOLTE and WiFi calling works perfectly on three. When u place a call the 4g symbol remains as 4g which is basically a VOLTE call.

I've been on the phone with them (AT&T) for the last 4 hours! They had the WIFI Calling working, but when I called back about the video calling and VLOTE they screwed my Wifi Calling back up. They went on to tell me about how my IMEI isn't showing up as a Note 10, but some other device named Nubia or something. I know it can be done, because I had it done with my Note 9. I had enough for today, I'll try again tomorrow!

I had to call in a number of times before I finally got someone who knew what to do. They have a BYOD device program and getting the IMEI added is part of that program.
I am running the unlocked firmware, with AT&T service and I have all advanced features like VoLTE and Wifi calling.

Oddly, I do not have an option in the Mobile networks to turn on or off VOLTE. I'm using a Sprint purchased, unlocked Note 10 plus on MetroPCS.

Great so it's working. In the UK they don't have a symbol saying VOLTE the icon remains as 4G on a call same in Japan and Korea. Sometimes it may say HD by the mins and sec call timer

Correct, I get the "HD+" next to mins and sec like you said. Just don't have the option and do not see VOLTE anywhere. I'm perplexed why some have the option to toggle VOLTE under connections, and some do not. But I guess the important thing is it's apparently working

It's an unlocked non carrier device and the USA networks are well known to behave in odd ways such as compelling Samsung to make carrier specific software and bloat on devices. Maybe its to do with that. Most global GSM networks are significantly more 'chilled' that the USA networks. Its quite laughable in some ways
Note 10+ newbie here. I have a MOW N975F which is unlocked, but not the unlocked US version from Samsung.
I came from a Note 8 and on that phone I had called them and given them an IMEI of a real ATT sold phone and upon reboot, I got the Volte toggles, but no WiFi Calling toggle and video calling does not work on the Note 10.
So when I switched the SIM to the Note 10, I too get the 4G icon instead of the 4G-LTE like on the Note 8 previously. Volte seems present, but Video calling does not work on the Note 10. It tires to place a call and quickly terminates with some kind of network error.
I did not yet attempt to call T again and have them change to the Note 10+ IMEI under their BYOD program.
I am wondering if anyone has come up with a method to get the real AT&T CSC? On my Note 8, someone pointed me to CSCSelection_S7_S8_V1.2.5_Note 8.zip and that worked perfectly. Seems there is no more OMC directory on the Note 10 and the above did not do anything.
Might there be a way to flash through ODIN the AT&T CSC stuff from a T ROM?
Has anyone had this working yet, does it even have an icon to show its on because my network provided said the Pixel 6 has no option in the menu, does it even show on the phone if its working/on?
VoLTE is working fine with EE in the UK. There are no signs it is working from what I can see, except for the fact it stays on 4G rather than drop to 3G. I've had HD calls (shows the tiny HD icon when the call connects) on 4G as well.
You can check using the phone service menu (*#*#4636#*#* or a version of the same... I always have to check!).
Mine shows volte provision as on (EE UK)
Mine is greyed out

It depends on your carrier.
Some offer the ability to activate it on your own (call a number, send an SMS), some activate it automatically, some won't even give you the ability to deactivate it/activate it yourself.
It needs to be activated and attached into the carriers system as an information that it's activated for your contract.
Are you sure that VoLTE is activated properly?
I have no problems with activating it on my phone.

I've been in touch with them today and Volte is active on their side but I've got no option
Same problem here ... Youfone network in Belgium ...
VoLTE works fine when I put the SIM card in my OnePlus 8 phone.
VoLTE does not work on the P6P if I insert the SIM card there.
I chatted to a Google support guy, he said it definitely is the provider whi must change something ... they claim the P6P supports VoLTE properly ...
But that is strange to me ... why would the SIM card have VoLTE in OnePlus phone and not in P6P? Could the provider really fix that? I doubt it ... but I am not a VoLTE specialist. I will contact provider anyway to see what they have to say.
Hmm ... I checked my provider's website ... they (explicitly) say that VoLTE is availabe for the following phone brands: Apple, Huwai, LG, OnePlus, Samsung, Sony, Nokia, Oppo. So maybe indeed the provider has to "activate" it for specific models/phones ...
I'm told after checking settings that Volte is switched on in fact it can't be turned off due to the carrier config file, greyed out on 'yes' however no Volte working.
The phone supports all the bands so this has to be an issue with the phone itself

No option for Volte and carrier confirms this, Google has hidden it for some reason
Hmm ... see attach. Same issue here. VoLTE works on my OnePlus, does not work on P6P. Chatted with Google support (see attach); they claim it is the provider who has to activate it for the P6P model (which I find strange). I will check with my provider (but I'm pretty sure they will bounce me back to Google). Ping pong.
So I hate volte because if my phone signal is weak and it decides to call over data the call gets all distorted and robot like if you know what I mean!! So I always turn this feature off, normally! Been a Samsung user for years and always had a setting to turn volte off via the SIM/network menu, well as it seems I've had a few of the distorted calls and gone to turn of volte but not a setting in sight and I think I may have figured it out. Seeing this post triggered me look into it deeper and after using that phone code above to establish that the carrier volte setting is switched on but greyed out, as somebody posted above made me switch my SIM to My S20 and check the volte and I can confirm that although the mobile provider has it switched on permanently for active Sims the phone has the hardware to switch it off.
If you look at the screenshot from my Pixel 6 Pro and read what toggling the WiFi Calling switch does, it actually states "When Wi-Fi calling is on, your phone can route calls via Wi-Fi networks OR YOUR MOBILE'S NETWORK"
What I take from that is the toggle on/off is for both WiFi Calling and volte at the same time and we can't have them as independent switches like on my S20 and probably other phones. It makes sense as to why none of us can turn it off, which is cr*p. Especially when my mobile signal is dodgy in my house so I relay on WiFi Calling and sometimes as I have 2 AP's I could have low WiFi signal so it decides to use volte but my mobile signal is also weak thus making my robot distorted calls to happen. I'll be sending feedback via about/send feedback to Google and just hope somebody picks up on it.
Do you agree?
Unless I'm missing something then appolgies for waisting your time.
If you do agree please could you send feed back to Google via "settings/about phone/send feedback about his device" as the more reports they get we have a better chance of the toggles being separated.

Have you opened settings and searched for wi-fi calling?? See screen shot. I'm guessing you have and if it's not there then possibly your network provider doesn't support either... Is your phone on the latest firmware?

That's strange and does your mobile network support both WiFi Calling and VoLTE services? If so then all I could possibly suggest is maybe a factory reset, making sure all your data is backed up first of course. It's a bit drastic I know but sometimes it does fix issues especially if the update missed some steps out when it was applied.

Quite possibly, like you can't have one without the other... If I'm correct that they have a joint on/off switch I really hope Google fix it. Hope you manage to get something sorted.
This is a carrier setting first and foremost. My phone came with it enabled on EE here in the UK, but not explicitly. I have Wifi Calling enabled on my phone as well, and I believe that works for wideband voice calls.
I've tried both VoLTE (unmarked in status bar, just as "HD" in call log) and VoWifi, both seem to work with my P6P.
Update: I've had one call where its shown as HD (Volte) on my call log even though the areas I go are all covered by Volte so I'm going to guess this is down to the rather poor modem on this handset which shows weak signal strength compared to my last handout (Oneplus 8 Pro)
Not sure if it has been addressed, but has anyone here in the states been able to connect to band n41 for 5g on TMobile? Phones says it is 5g ready on TMobile but all I get is 4g+. Which btw is getting me 100+ dl speeds on average, but just wanted to know if there is something I'm missing to get 5g. In preferred network settings, all I can choose is 4g/ LTE or 3g/2g. No 5g option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which model of the phone do you have? I have the Chinese variant on Metro and 5G works flawlessly. I know they run on T-Mobile towers so they should have the same bands, I'm guessing, or maybe not.

I had to chat with one of the employees there to give them the new IMEI number so they could switch the phone in my account. When I first put the sim in, it actually told me that the sim card was not accepted since it was a China mainland phone. I almost thought I wasted my money and could not keep the phone. The 5g option was there from the beggining though but I was getting no signal at all. I finally found the network reset option after the employee suggested it and reset the network, restarted the phone and it finally worked. Also voLTE works as well. Up until this phone, I tried a global Mate 40 Pro and MI 11 Ultra and neither of them had that option available. Not sure why.
Also, on this version it doesn't even say the preferred network option. If I go under Mobile Network & Sim 1 that's where it shows 5g and I can toggle it on or off.

Still nothing. 4g only option. When you first started phone/inserted sim, did you get a notification saying to update carrier provisioning? I did but I think that messed up something...
No message when I inserted my SIM, but then I wouldn't expect any carrier specific updates to provision services on my phone as my carrier hasn't certified and doesn't support Vivo phones. Consequently I don't have VoLTE or Wifi Calling toggles in my SIM settings. I do however have the "enable 5G" toggle (and it works because I do connect to 5G) because that setting is baked into the firmware and is not something pushed by the carrier. I don't expect this would make any difference, but you can enable developer options and toggle on VoNR. That is the new voice over 5G technology that is replacing VoLTE (voice over 4G) with some carriers.
